  1. ive got the fork that goes into the rb20 box, with the rubber. Let me know how much its worth to you, and its yours
  2. ive been following this for a while too. GT30r too small and the gt35r is too big for what i want. I have seen the gt32's and wondered if bush bearing would make that much difference to a ball bearing turbo. Roy says his td-06 spools faster than smaller turbos, so it makes me wonder... I always like reading your opinions disco, let us know how the gt35rs goes
  3. like above, fans are used the most when sitting in traffic. They only really shine, when its 30+deg and you arnt moving. Hell my old '79 holden used to love driving on the highway (cold temps), but go through Maccas on a hot day and it would shoot up temps Thermos NEED a shroud to pull air through like the std setup, or they arnt worth much imho. Ive seen it on heaps of cars now with themos that cant keep the car cold on stop start traffic.
  4. After i had my engine rebuilt the only noise i could hear in the engine bay was my 550cc rx7 injectors tapping away as BHDave said. Its nothing to worry about
  5. Good question Roy. When i was building this motor i had everyone telling me gt35r is the turbo to go for, because its suited to the motor. Most people ive seen with this turbo pull big numbers (i remember you saying i was gunna walk past 350rwkw when u asked origionally what turbo i was gunna run) Since driving my car now with 220rwkw i dont want to go over 300rwkw just for the fact id like a power band i can use and get down. Ive since downgraded turbo chioce to the gt3037, which will make the power i want, and still pull hard.
  6. i fitted teh rb20 oil filter sandwich (std. one) and the filter leaked. I then just had the filter screwed straight to the block, and it doesnt leak, go figure Use a good gasket compound to stop it leaking i spose.
  7. I remember saying the same thing to Shaun when dropping my car off to get it finished...
  8. No probs I'll be starting this group buy in the next week or so, so everyone else keep a lookout
  9. Thanks, will call em
  10. you know the sr20 is a rb30 minus 2 cylinders there roy same stroke
  11. cool. Whats the condition of the brackets etc? Any chance of pics? Will call you if you can get some pics.
  12. yer it dangled by the cable a few too many times, so whoever picks it up on South road will get 2 free wires with the plugs
  13. lol. havent found out as yet 1/4 mile doesnt interest me. ps. - the brutal torque quote is a dig taken from the v8 (black jeans, beanie headed, VB drinking) boys....as im sure you know Hows your car coming along?
  14. where did you get the omori gauge holder from prank, and what size in mm is the holes? thanks
  15. I need to replace my drivers side indicator. The little plastic tab broke and it fell out. I need one asap so if you have one, or know where i can get one, let me know Also willing to put in some clear indicators, so if you know where i can get em, let me know too

  17. any motor can be a tough motor, it depends on how good the tuning is Im only running 220 rwkw and its a torquey motor. 420Nm (? dunno the scale) and it pulls like a freight train Over 300rwkw and its only a tyre frying machine.
  18. Do a search for John Verban on these and NS.com I havent dealt with him, but ive met 50/50 reviews Compliance depends where u go. Best Enterprises cost around 5k (someone correct me?) drive in drive out compliance.
  19. i got a rb20 block here, but its got no engine number on it. (i stamped my new block with the number) They come new from nissan for the same reason. Nothing wrong with block, just replaced with a rb30. Let me know if you're interested. has no crank, or pistons, just rods, and crank girdle(?)
  20. check the group buy section. Gr33dy (?) has em from $195 ea.
  21. I remember it was a trade off though. No oil squirters, but we ran forged pistons (can tolerate a little more det. than a std piston. I can trust my tuner not to blow the motor also.Very important.) If i remeber SK gets the piston crowns ceramic coated to keep det. down. 2 different things to consider about pistons, but if you have a good tune, like any engine needs, thats all that matters You seriously doont need to worry about the lower comp. My turbo (as cubes said) comes on so hard it just wheelspins on boost -any gear) Im going to end up with a gt3037 on mine, simply cos i wanna keep the power around 300rwkw. Even though everyone says it may be too small, and the gt35r is a better match. It should come on hard around 2500(?) which is only like an extra 1000 rpm from now with the highflow. It'll be a great turbo for the street, and with a lower 3.9 diff ratio, itll be better
  22. Sky30 has a completely stock (2nd hand) bottom end with 300,000 on it. He slapped a rb25de head on it (untouched) with a gt35r and is making 312rwkw. What you are asking is possible, its all in the tuning. The 95 ron may just mean less timing. Power depends on the turbo being used. My rb20highflow should be capable of about 240rwkw (but coilpacks are stuffed) currently on 218rwkw. I hardly rev mine over 6k, even though my tuner says it still pulls over 6500 to 7. 3k max for day to day Your only trouble would be the vct supply (make sure to research it as i think there was oil supply isses somewhere) Its cheap (as you have most parts) and the bottom end power will make you not regret it....oh btw...welcome to the dark side
  23. A guy on NS.com (topstage) does bodykits/lips and widebody panels on 2 and i think 4 doors. Im looking to widebody my car (2 door) with the 32gtr +40mm guards front and rear MMmmm widebody
  24. Can u make the grill and a bonnet splitter out of carbon as well? How much for them
  25. have you checked the coil pack loom? Make sure there is spark getting to the coil? Just a thought.... edit/ i see you did the ignition loom Id keep tracing wiring. Go all the way back to the ecu etc.
