  1. Yeah I just thought the driveshafts weren't the weak link lol oh well. Could have been worse. Mainly just wanted to see if anyone else had done this in their skyline because I've never really heard of them snapping. Just means I'll be more careful in the future. Least it didn't happen at the drags or in the middle of nowhere. I also had someone tell me that axle tramp may have weakened the shaft/drivetrain, and since I still have stock shocks I guess the extra squat from the car wouldn't have helped when it snapped. Appreciate the comments. So far seems like it was just one of those things I pushed 1 step to far
  2. yeah I'm pretty happy about what broke compared to the alternatives but im still a bit confused as to why it happened. I dont really do clutch dumps often, I was just in a shit of a mood last night. Figured with my kind of power it wouldnt be an issue but I guess the mixture of wear and shock loading was enough to do it.
  3. Ive taken the part of the driveshaft off the diff in order to get it home.. The way its broken is a bit puzzling because it is a very clean straight break... Pic attatched:
  4. Hey So I've broken the passanger side rear drive shaft about 5cm from the outer CV joint..... But I'm not sure why, I thought it would handle much more power then what I'm pushing out (Only running stock turbo still.... 195rwkw) Just wondering if anyone else has heard of this happening. I have replacements lined up from another skyline but Just want to know if I should be more mindful of how easy they can break or if i was just unlucky with this drive shaft. Other info.. I have: - NPC 10" sprung button clutch - 195rwkw - 275 tyres on 19" rims at the rear if any of that helps, I relise that I have a little bit of grip and a fairly strong clutch if that had anything to do with it And yes I'll admit, I'd had a crap day at work and I broke the drive shaft doing a clutch dump Thanks Callan
  5. Sorted it out lol. Mods please close....
  6. Ummm... pretty sure theres a steering angle sensor behind the steering wheel, the steering rack... another sensor on the hicas unit at the rare, a speed sensor and something else...
  7. haha yeh I had a stab. I play with to many fittings and never bother learning much about the tapered ones. Just remember BSP, except I think I accidentally call it BSB.... anyway, the taper could be in the plug I guess not the gearbox as well..... I'd measure mine but I dont feel like paying for some more gearbox oil at the moment. As you can see I've probably made stuff even more confusing with that little speech so I'll stop talking now
  8. The diff and gearbox plugs aren't bsb threads or something? because they are a tapered thread........???? Someone should confirm if that is the case
  9. Everyone loves Phils group buys
  10. Suree. Why not lol. Put me down for 1
  11. no Series 2 are different to series 1 and GTR
  12. I was gonna put an M-sport kit on my 33 before i decided to put the series 2 front on it. I like the m-sports because its not to much of a 'look at me' bodykit, I found it kinda similar to the R32 vortex kit.
  13. it will probably stick out to much at the front I think. The series 2 headlights and bonnet wouldnt line up properly with that bumper and it would look fairly average. Personally I wouldnt do it.
  14. I went with an NPC 10" single plate Sprung button. The pedal is softer then with my Exedy HD cushion button and it bites hard. I didnt find it that hard to get used to the button clutch, but there is a bit of getting used to I'd recommend NPC any day but, there customer service was great, Forget now who I was talking to but he spent alot of time helping me work out what I would need
  15. That looks awesome getting rid of all that factory crap lol will be much neater. Will have to put mine in on the weekend. Pics help alot Thanks again Phil
  16. yeah was gonna say look for a second hand one or look at getting the fluid inside replaced dont quote me on this but im pretty sure it was around 50 dollars to get the fluid replaced. Im not sure where to get it done but
  17. found this if anyone is interested.... if it was silver/polished i might be but the gold is a bit much Side Feed Fuel Rail - Ebay
  18. before you go buying a new one i think they can be repaired for alot cheaper (viscus fan I mean)
  19. remove the vac hose, it will most likely leak under boost and then not release air when it returns to vacumm so basically do everything wrong
  20. yeah sounds like a CV. Think the easiest way to check is to turn full lock and drive slowly or takeoff slowly or something...... Yeah I'm helpful right lol
  21. you mean rocker covers? the valley cover is the thing that covers the coilpacks.... and the breather comes from the intake pipe not the BOV plumb back I dont really see a great deal of difference apart from the legality issue and plumbing a little filter on top of the catch can instead of running a line to the rocker cover/intake pipe being alot easier and cleaner looking
  22. They also have 'auto turbo timer' which ive been meaning to give another go. Basically it reads your revs (which it calculates through voltage im pretty sure) then add's seconds to your turbo timer depending on how you rev your car. Two settings Hi and Lo. I found it a bit to sensitive with a base setting of 20 seconds but One of these days i think ill set the base time to 0 seconds on the low setting and see if its worth it hopefully will do next to nothing when driving around slowly, and add a good amount of time when reving it a bit
  23. Really depends how you drive your car. There nice for peace of mind but probably not a necessity. I find mine is good when I go into a shop to buy something on a hot day cause I can leave the car running off turbo timer to keep it cool haha. But if you have one why not install it? I leave my greedy turbo timer on it's volts display setting so I can monitor that
  24. I dont find it that buggy really Its good... its just not as great as I was expecting, but the more you play it the better it gets to a degree...... the worst thing I've found so far is when theres a lot of cars around the same part of track the game slows a bit. But other then that I've found it not to bad.... but I was a bit disapointed after all the talk of how good this game was.... I think certain parts of Formula One Championship Edition were better or just as good but I guess its codemasters first try and a good one at that
