  1. Depends on the aircon gas your running... I noticed a very noticable drop in performance when running R134A, the aircon compressor could also be heard inside the car when reving to 3500rpm+. Had it charged up with R12A (not to be confused with R12) and I can't actually notice the power drop. Aircon compressor is now quiet at high rev's and its also much colder especially idling in traffic. R12A FTW. Our Skylines are not designed to handle the head pressures of R134A.
  2. The Bosch 910 pump is only rated to flow ~400hp. If thats all your after then throw a walbro in. Walbro's are good pumps for low power levels but start pushing 450+hp and don't mess around and throw in either a Bosch 044 or Tomei/Nismo pump. All bosch pumps can be mounted in tank with only slight modifications. Generally.... Bosch 910, 200 l/hr @ 5 bar (73.5psi), supports 220 rwkw Bosch 975, 228 l/hr @ 5 bar (73.5psi), supports 250 rwkw Bosch 984, 228 l/hr @ 5 bar (73.5psi), supports 250 rwkw Bosch 040, 235 l/hr @ 5 bar (73.5psi), supports 260 rwkw Bosch 044, 330 l/hr @ 5 bar (73.5psi), supports 360 rwkw 'Apparently' running a check valve on the 044 helps prevent cavitation and keep it quiet.
  3. 146mph... There's a VLT running the same TS running in to the high 8's. Its making 700rwhp+ or some where around there.
  4. I have the same issue with my old Billion 7500g and an older Toshiba Laptop Tecra A3 laptop. Billion 7300G and its rock solid 100%. I've found with wireless its a bit of luck when it comes to interference and hardware combinations.
  5. Enrico. Where abouts did you grab the Toyo T1R's (225/50 16) for 190 each?
  6. Wasn't a black xr6t ute? A mate of a mate (young arab/greek difficult to tell) went for a little cruise with us once and drove like a mad man everywhere.
  7. One would think according to....... http://www.ngk.com/sparkplug411.asp?kw=JIS&mfid=1 JIS (Japanese International Standard) plug height is 53mm (i.e the BCP range) ISO (International Standard Organisation) plug height is 50.5mm (i.e the BKR range) Nissan made in Japan... You'd think they would adopt the JIS standard plug. And then according to this.. http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technic..._faq.htm#ISOJIS I see that as suggesting; if the coil on plug vehicle has been designed for use with the larger JIS (BCPR) plug then using the smaller ISO (BKR) plug 'may' cause poor contact. Possibly why some have had their springs and spring seat within the coil show signs of corrosion/burns? :S Considering the amount of km's my coils did (200,000+) the springs and spring seats were perfect with the slightly taller plugs.
  8. The bloke said the max speed isn't an issue. BUT he would need a speedo example as to make the box up as its not adjustable. The other option is to have the speedo recalibrated which is $90. He seemed to think the speedo box wouldn't work; unsure why as demagnetising or magnetising the speedo is the same as changing the cable speed. He wasn't all that clear but from where I am I can't see why it most definitely wont. Maybe a Morning thing. lol
  9. There's no difference between the S1 Rb25's coils and the RB20/26's coils.
  10. R32 Driver, Interesting way to look at it.
  11. At light throttle cruising along.... Your motor may be making 30kw at the fly. IF the drivetrain loss were a fixed value you'd have to drive around with half throttle everywhere. So a percentage it is. Rough enough is good enough Its most likely a fixed value + percentage to take in to account increased friction and load upon bearings/gears. BUT too difficult to determine.
  12. R33Gods calc is what I would expect. -- Clint32 many moons ago had his rb25 on an engine dyno. Made 580hp On a DD Dyno it made 338rwkw. Thats close to 95rwkw drivetrain loss. I believe as power output increases the amount of power absorbed by the drive train is also increased *SLIGHTLY*. As more load is placed upon gears and bearings more friction occurs. This has to equate to an increase in drivetrain loss. The old LS1 V8 manual commodore for example... GTS ~300kw at the fly = 225rwkw, The run of the mill SS's back then... 225kw at the fly = ~165rwkw. All approx values as dyno's can vary 5-10rwkw depending on how its strapped down, air temp etc etc.
  13. 11months is nothing. It should still be perfectly fine unless your master or slave cylinder is bleeding off a little resulting in poor travel. --------- Not saying this is the case in your circumstance but I had a gearbox rebuilt for $1200 including in/out labour (VS 5ltr 5speed) some years ago as first gear was popping out and I didn't have the time to do it myself. I requested everything to be replaced, all bearings and syncro's as the box had a little layshaft rattle. (I've rebuilt box's before I know what sounds are coming from where) Upon receiving the gearbox it still had the layshaft rattle; I questioned the people and they told me it was a load of crap and couldn't hear the layshaft rattle when it was as clear as daylight. He also told me they send the gearbox's off to a specialist to rebuild. So that was that. A few months later at a party I met a bloke and we got talking. He mentioned they do the gearbox work for the mechanical shop that I had do mine and that he remembers doing a vs 5ltr 5speed gearbox box BUT it wasn't a full rebuild; it was only to fix the first gear (he said it was just a pin that dropped out) and replace syncro's. I return to the work shop and find they have gone bust...... So screwed.
  14. It doesn't hurt to. I've always gave it a quick clutch bleed also, mineral dot4 brake fluid.
  15. Would this nismo clutch pack affect the lock up rate or is that controlled by something else? Compared to a couple mates with nismo and ats diff I find the GTR mech center to require more throttle to have the diff lock; which makes it perfect for limping around in carparks etc. Give it just that little bit more throttle and its locked up and chirping the inside wheel. With the aftermaret diff on low speed corners it feels like you just slightly touch the throttle and the inside wheel instantly starts chirping and shuddering the car. Makes it impossible without clutching it and rolling to avoid inside wheel chirp when mr police men are around.
  16. An old sau member in SA had his RB25 running 26 internals push out 580hp on an engine dyno. Once in the car and on a DD Dyno it only made 338rwkw. :S ~95rwkw drivetrain loss.
  17. If you can't track down a little HKS2530 grab a slide highflow. Run around with it like that for a while until you save the $$ to throw on a nismo FPR and ecu remap.
  18. What ford was it?
  19. The car was pulled up straight etc? Maybe he stopped the car, got out and decided to die. Usually they are pretty quick to shove sheets over people that have died. Most likely just out of it and waiting for the ambulance.
  20. Gauges differ. Cams also differ which influences the 'dynamic' compression ratio. Dynamic compression ratio is what you are seeing with the comp test gauge.
  21. I've found quiet cars always feel faster as they don't sound like they are working hard. You tend not to hear it roaring yet your being pushed in the seat.
  22. I checked the height issue out some time ago when I had a set of BKR plugs. There really is nothing to worry about with our coil on plug setups as there is more than enough coil travel not to cause problems with bind. Running BCPR plugs for quite a few years and comparing my springs to another coil that had its life sitting on a plat plug there was no difference in coil height. So they don't squash so to speak. So I wouldn't be too concerned with the remote ignitor coil setup we use. I haven't checked the s2 r33's or r34's so that may very well be a different story.
  23. With a duration as such you'll be looking power holding well to 7500-8000rpm providing it has a decent plenum and exh. manifold hanging off it.
  24. Unless it were a GT2510 or GT2530 turbo no. Definitely not an upgrade but rather a downgrade to the stock rb20det turbo.
  25. Cruising around ct.com I came across kyles ask tech questions thread. Inside he had this little bit of helpfull info for those home builders. Mainly the oiling mods.
