  1. Ceffy.. I think its more so the way he went about it. Straight up he made a thread that claimed slide turbo's are in short crap etc.. Mods edited the title and the content of the initial post. + he doesn't answer questions and simply fly's off the handle saying well it rev's to 9500rpm fine. He hasn't stated what he has done to his motor to ensure there actually is good oil pressure at low rpm. A motor can still run well but be low on pressure and not show knocking noises and the like for a few months. As I think I said in a post earlier.. Has he had the oil pressure checked? He also stated at first he didn't realize the oil lines had to be drilled out... He didn't bolt it on and try by any chance and then realize his stuff up and try to get it fixed under warranty. As you can see a couple of things he has said sort of don't add up.
  2. I'm doing mine now and will take pics. Keep you posted.
  3. Yep nice sig pic Race__24..
  4. Haven't got around to doing the oil change. The oil is suitable and meets the gasoline API SL.
  5. I'll be taking mine to the local BP Wash stop. They have a tap there so I'll fill up my bucket use my wash mit then spend $2 to spray off the suds. I refuse to use the brushes that have suds come out the end as it doesn't wash the car properly and does scratch the car. Everything shows on a black car.
  6. I wonder if BBE will take up the $500 offer to have the turbo repaired.
  7. The bits of 9500rpm and 60,000km's stand out like a motor that isn't exactly fresh. BBE or more appropriately BBQ. How is your oil pressure, I don't believe you have answered? A motor can appear fine when its not.. Guilt Toy's is a prime example, it began playing up 6months before it let go and began knocking. But in all honestly... if you really have done 60,000km's and been flicking it to 9500rpm quite often its most definitely not going to be anything like a fresh motor. Its going to be worn and may very well have issues you are not aware of. As the bearings showed signs of dirty oil you may have left a little swarf behind after drilling the oil restrictors out and or it was fitted up then later drilled out when you realised it had to be drilled out. Is this the case as I believe in a previous post you made mention that you initially didn't know they had to be drilled out as it was a direct bolt on. Never mind if I am wrong its my sceptical nature. Slide has been kind enough to post pics and the report of what was wrong with the turbo... So you now know there was an oil supply problem. Can you possibly think of why there was an oil supply problem? Do you think it may have been the oil lines + a little swarf, engine oil pressure is lacking? Possibly a blocked oil galley turbo feed in the block? Take the criticism on the chin and forget about it, try to work through with everyone and get to the bottom of what the problem was. It clearly wasn't a fauly turbo as the bearings showed lack of oil.
  8. 9500rpm on a std engine really is a tad unrealistic. If anything I'd say this is the cause for oil issues, the motors hammered. Quite possibly oil pressure is a too low on idle/low rpm causing the turbo failures. Gibson motorsport back in the Bathurst GTR days limited their motors to 7000rpm due to longevity issues if they were to rev harder.
  9. BBE, According to your previous threads you had a GCG highflow die soon after fitting. Don't think there may be an issue with your setup if you have had 2 turbo's let go one after another?
  10. lmfao. I was taking the piss.
  11. You on dialup Nisskid?
  12. Mine does the 1mb SuperPI in ~42seconds. I'd make it on that list in front of the P4 3.15ghz by ~4secs.
  13. Cheerz big earz.
  14. Technically the o2 sensor is ignored before positive manifold pressure is seen, so technically it wont make any difference to drivability apart from vacuum load.
  15. How did you clean it? I soaked mine. Didn't make a difference.
  16. Race__24, Definitely give Shaun a buzz, let him know what you want done, plug that you got his name from SAU. ---- On another note... Can you please resize your sig? It doesn't play nice on my old 17" monitor @ 1152x864. I believe the maximum sig size allowed is 600x150.
  17. Providing you are running a decent exhaust thats not restrictive there's nothing you can do. Buy an EBC.
  18. Its all in your head. The o2 sensor won't have it boosting better. As soon as it starts booting its well and truley out of closed loop mode and running purely off the maps.
  19. Well that just plain sucks.. hehe yer that or nodes premium usenet pron service.
  20. Manwhore3, From watching mine arc out at night it looks as if the spark is very small, it jumps to the coil holder. So in reality the gap is rather small, only a 2mm or so. You can see how small the gap is in the pics above. In my case anyway. Thinking about it though.... Run a 1.1mm gap with 11+psi of boost and most have a missfire, the combustion pressures make it damn difficult for the spark to jump so I can see why it would rather jump to the coil holder if there's a crack in the plastic some where. I swear mine don't have cracks in the plastic so I'm going to give cleaning this up a shot. Hell ya never never know, might save me $500. Rip the plug off a VN/VP coil pack and watch how big arsed those things spark. Easily jump 3" with a big fat spark. Quite a amazing really.
  21. Can't help but wonder if thats Jazza.
  22. lol at 800gb. I run a 120gb thats happily 60% full. 8gb worth of family pics, almost 2gb of car related pics, a few bits of software and a couple of games (BF2) I throw everything off to DVD and store it away, have a nice little program I slapped together to help me trace down what I need at a later date. Tends to be a bit of a habit I have now after loosing a few WD drives one after another (3-9months between failures) a few years back. This was back before the JB drives. What ISP are you with?
  23. Toshiba do tend to be a tad more expensive than some but they really are top quality laptops. Asus should be ok, its not like its an Acer. :S Its just that Toshiba are well known as a reliable business laptop.
  24. SECUR1TY, Have you since removed your coil pack cover, got the coils hot and watched them flash at night? If you give it a quick rev it really lights up. I might give this a shot. Never know, but my coils have done at least 220,000km's. :S
  25. Dyno's read all over the place really....
