  1. IF they are fine it may have a little air in the line that is compressing of which results in less travel so you experience trouble with gear selection. So a fluid flush and bleed is in order.
  2. Thats the going price. Don't be a tight arse or you will suffer slow warm ups, poor economy due to it running too cold and possibly overheating at the track.
  3. If your stationary and can't get it in first or reverse it sounds much like a clutch thats not disengaging correctly. Check your master and slave cylinders to ensure they are not leaking.
  4. How are we meant to know... This is SAU. Head down the local performance workshop and quiz them.
  5. ShadeX.. You need to speak to Regency Vehicle standards. I might give them a buzz tomorrow and stress the point between turbo and na to make 100% sure. A while back when I spoke to Vehicle standards I was told 360mm all round for the turbo as the document states; fingers crossed things have since changed. Unless they are getting nice bonus's by feeding us bullshit information so we have to pay that inflated $200 odd first inspection fee.
  6. Make sure the cop is looking at the correct model. A friend of mine was initially told 370mm odd; the cop was looking at the GTR ride hight not the GTST. :S He as defected anyway as it was still 5mm too low. 355mm
  7. Can't sue parents? Sounds quite strange they won't cover the bike as what happens when your car is stolen by 16yr olds... Its still covered. Get rammed by some young 16yr old in a commodore up north and the car is still covered. What insurance company is he with? I drove past only minutes after the accident on South road out the front of the BP. Not a very nice site at all. I'm still bewildered today how the driver didn't see the the rider sprawled out on the road.
  8. My stock old suspension had sagged up front a fair bit. 350mm up front. lol When I gave them a buzz I was told for the R32 turbo its 360mm all round; a mate who was defected a year or so ago was shown the same thing in the officers little book. Be sure to let us know if things have changed.
  9. R32 and R33 Turbos are 360mm all round. So not far off stock height. Non-turbo's sit a little lower. Unsure if they have since updated the black book. I have mine sitting at 360mm all round with adjustable coil overs.
  10. Go the ceramic puk. The organics are crap they heat up quite and slip like all buggery. Hard launches mine used to have issues from new (Xtreme) with only 200rwkw. That 5puk ceramic is a bargain for $300.
  11. Agree nothing is idiot proof. If the knock map is tuned conservatively no doubt you will feel the power be sucked out of the car so probably a little better than a flashing light. The other concern would be if its too conservative egt's will skyrocket if you keep stuck in to it. The rb26 pfc ecu has inlet air temp correction, 20x20 fuel/ign maps (finer tune) vs 16x16 on the std ecu.. another couple of plus but for an additional price. If I could get the ecu remapped for $500-600 and then further tunes for a few hundred I'd jump at it.
  12. Simon the std ecu does have det control but it is very limited. R32's and RB25's have still cracked ring lands due to det on the stock ecu. Personally I prefer the dash light flashing as you then know something is wrong and can get it rectified. ImportS13... A remap is defectable but is not 'detectable'. Either is the pfc if you shove the stock ecu's cover on it.
  13. When The AP Engineering PFC was plentiful and could be imported for around 1k a ramp was worth ~800 for the first tune and then approx 500-600 for further tunes. The PFC on the other hand was ~1k + ~300 for tunes. So I went with the PFC. Speak to Jeff at Turbo Tune and see what he does remaps for. The only option these days is to drop a rb26 pfc in to the r32 gtst. It does have additional benifits of inlet air temp sensor correction etc which is handy for those hot days or thrashing it at Mallala.
  14. This bloke is crazy.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQs9W9MmXgs...feature=related
  15. hrmm there's some nasty shit in there :S
  16. Rb30 vlt box's are strong but they are clunky. The 25t box has twin syncro's form memory on the first 3 gears.
  17. yeah looks a tad silly. Yeah i would look if i saw something like that but for all the wrong reasons.
  18. Looks quite good Hotwire... I attempted to fit one of the safe and sound capsule in the old skyline but the passenger seat would not lock back lol.
  19. Bugger I couldn't make it to the lan night tonight. Cars off the road for the next couple of weeks. replacing the tie rods, wiring in a thermo fan with a jaycar thermo fan controller and running relays for the headlights/highbeams as i'm tired of replacing r32 light switches if i run with the high beams on for extended periods of time.
  20. Yeah andrew it sucks.. if I left the other half at home I would come home to a locked door.
  21. If you want a really nice compact baby seat thats both a capsule and normal car seat look at the Safe and Sound Compaq. Awesome little seat that fits in the Skyline and fits like a glove in the back seat of the 2007 Mazda 3. Don't bother with the oldschool capsule they are an absolute pain in the arse. Safe-n-Sound Compaq Deluxe Converts from rearward-facing (capsule) to forward-facing upright child seat http://www.productreview.com.au/showitem.php?item_id=33890 http://www.babiesgalore.com.au/view_produc...6categoryid%3D5 The young lad now at 3 still fits fine; quite a tall lad for his age with a size 10 foot. Really don't bother with a capsule they are old, clunky and will do your back in.
  22. I'm out at the last minute.. No one to look after the young lad as the father in law has had to head interstate on business.
  23. Looks good.. Driving to work and all how is it on juice?
  24. Its called a yuppy.. *jk* lol
  25. I heard on the radio the other day... Apparently we are turning in to a bunch of metrosexual pansies as a high percentage of males know very little to nothing about their cars nor do they perform any work on them. There was a few other things.. Owning a pink shirt was one of them. So Aussy males are apparently becoming in touch with their feminine side. :S My self I'm quite the opposite; old school line of thought. So buy some cheap super cheap knuckle busting tools and do it yourself.
