  1. Splits generally slightly increase boost over a well designed bell as the majority reduce the flow capability of the wastegate UNLESS they are port matched to the back of the turbo. Back to back a split vs a bell there's no power difference; run the split in to atmo and don't plumb it back in and depending on power made it does pick up power. I'm running a bell and had it up to 285rwkw.
  2. Thats one nice thing about 4gb+ ram and vista's superfetch. A lot turn it off but I've found it noticeably improves level loading as well as general windows loading that firefox, thunderbird etc.
  3. More boost.
  4. Ahh such a pitty. Hardly driven.
  5. I've played a bit of COD4. usually on the Internode servers. Apart from getting my arse handed to me they appear to be fine. Recently bought a 22" samsung and the ol' 8600GT is struggling a tad at 1680x1050. Still does 'ok' though doesn't completely fall to its knees.
  6. Almost better off selling the 8600gt and buying one 8800gt as one 8800gt kicks an sli 8600gt setup.
  7. I am most definitely.. Im going to give it a few more sau 'events' and see who turns up to what and then make a final decision. If no one shows to at least motorkhana's I'll can the idea and join NDCC as motorkhana's are the cheapest of cheap motor sport events. Steve is soon to do his dyno day so once i get word on when that is going to be i can hopefully squeeze in a couple of motorkhana's.
  8. There are only a very very small handful of people that wish to get in to the motorsport. SAU/SA will be more of a street hoon club I believe. Because a lot are too scared or poor one of the two to take their cars out at Mallala. As Madaz can appreciate the turnout at Mallala was woeful. Not to mention the few times Salad has attempted to get people out there. It simply does not happen.
  9. Ahh the 044 was fitted quite some time ago.. When I first mentioned I was having troubles as you may remember I think 6 odd months ago? Cars done hardly any km's since then as I bus it in to work these days. Only driving it does is on the weekends so I can justify a bit of a lumpy idle and bad fuel economy. The cams are ever so slightly larger than what your currently running. Are you still thinking about WMI? I wouldn't mind getting a kit on before the next dyno day of which should be a reasonable turn out with some decent cars. Would be nice to crack 1rwkw more than what you did last dyno day.
  10. I'd say the sludge would most definitely be related to a bad batch of fuel as I've owned my R32 since 2001 and recently dropped an 044 intank. The tank was 100% clean an the cars now done a little over 260,000km's in total. I've only ever ran BP with the occasional tank of Mobil and recently Shell as its only 10c more compared to BP of which seems to charge 13c more
  11. unsure. I picked up my 044 for $260 from Motor Traders. I mentioned I was able to purchase it online for $240ish delivered. They offered $260 so I took it.
  12. Mine also did the same thing. Your up for a new fuel pump. If you get stuck. Beat the crap out of the bottom of the tank roughly where the fuel pump resides.. The pump will then come good again.... for a bit.
  13. I had a small bad experience with boss.. I think he was in a rush and simply shimmed my s/h purchsed lsd.. preload was tight but there was a couple of smashed disks in there that he didn't notice. So wasted a bit of money with both the purchase and shimming of the s/h diff.
  14. lol yeah not being a bike rider myself; when I pull up behind a bike the chicken strips are the first things I look at.
  15. Nothing about being a pro drifter its just what a new diff is worth. And there's no other option apart from dodgy shimming which induces understeer and in my opinion made the car feel shit. Especially pushing in to round abouts. Mine was tight enough to always chirp the inside wheel through corners but on hard acceleration it would still single leg. Spend more $$ on tyres and i guess you don't have to worry about it single legging as much I wouldn't go a 2 way. 1.5way for street etc.
  16. lol and thanks to google apparently the most common squid bike. http://katriders.com/vb/showthread.php?t=50807
  17. The beginning of the end. Its a viscous diff not a great deal can be done apart from shim it which sort of works but with mine it would still single leg in a straight line; out of corners etc it would twin nicely. If you are going to have the car making some decent power spend 1k and throw a good new mechanical in it.
  18. 044 Intank is quite easy. R32: 044 from Motor Tranders for $260 (mentioned I can purchase one from SAU for $250 ish delivered so they did their best to price match) 2 brass barbs and some suitable fuel hose from Pirtek. Have the pickup brass barb machined on a lathe (boostworx did mine) so you can use the standard sock. 2 large hose clamps Put it together dropped in tank easy as. Its a fair bit harder to fit in the R32 as there's not much height available in the tank and requires machining of the pickup barb. The 33's are dead easy to fit the 044 pumps intank. The pump has a nice buzz to it; as loud as my old VS 5ltrs pump. BUT when the weather warms the pump gets a little loud from outside; inside its still fine.

  20. What really shits me since removing the tint off my drivers and passenger window due to being pulled up and threatened with a defect is on the way home in summer... The right side of my face buuuuurns like all buggery. Sue for skin cancer as they don't substitute tint for free suncream hand outs.

  22. R33 front brakes. stock ecu, quiet exhaust, good bushes.
  23. I personally don't like the eboost. They always seem to break. The avcr is the most customizable boost controller of which when tuned by a novice performs poorly which is why some state its crap. Get the avcr on a dyno with some one who knows them and they are an awesome boost controller with a massive range of features. BUT.. the Greedy Profec B ebc is a great cheap ebc. if boost is tailing off you can dial it in so that it holds boost at higher rpm. if its creeping you can attempt to dial it out. But usually if it creeps (boost goes up with rpm) usually its a mechanical problem (poorly designed dump or wastegate)
  24. No just an ebay whore so all to familiar with the exchange rate.
  25. What boost is at peak power? that being you said boost tails off hence get an ebc to hold boost better.
