  1. With 2gb I found the hard drive chugged a lot more and when dropping out of games it wasn't as instantly smooth. The price of ram these days why not.. Initially I was disappointed with vista and 2gb of ram; dropped 4gb in and it felt considerably smoother especially in Crysis and hungry games.
  2. The demo.. $40 isn't bad.. worth while grabbing it. lol for a 3yr old he's actually pretty damn good. He's really getting the hang of it. The problem is now I hear from the back car seat; Dad...... do a burnout. The other day out of the blue he stood up while waiting in the car and said to a bloke in his old loud v8 VH... do a burnout.. do a big loooooooooong one. Must be something in the blood. But what he really gets in to is MotoRacer3. Going to have to take him to the dirt bikes when they are in Adelaide. I saw something on the tv the other night so should be good.
  3. My young lad plays GRID at 1680x1080 with the 8600GT fairly well.
  4. R32 - 14-15psi (only because its a smaller motor) R33 - 12psi R34 - 11-12psi Don't be putting an r32 turbo on the r33 thinking you can push 14-15psi in to it.
  5. 201rwkw seems about right for the power/mods.. Top work. You'll be used to it within a week or two and start thinking about the next round of mods. That GT30 turbo or something of the likes. Care to share how much u were slugged for 2hrs on the dyno?
  6. Damn that beats me.. My last was in Early 01.. 68 in a 60 due to a merging lane.
  7. Toyo Proxes4 225/50 16's hold 268rwkw through second gear with an rb30det without too many issues. They were $160 each and pretty damn good in the wet.
  8. Short hair really doesn't do much for her.
  9. It appears to be a DNS issue. Those on bigpong are having problems as well as possibly optus.
  10. The bid snipers are lurking...
  11. Ahh but it doesn't have to be that way. Here's the RB30DET; most its made is 285rwkw on 17psi; just about to slot a pair of cams in and stick a boost controller on it for 20-22psi. Looks dead stock. Hell even the exhaust is rather sedate.
  12. Visible = Defectable. Unless your going for 300rwkw+ simply no need.
  13. hrmm the local shop has fries .. might grab some fries and gravy.
  14. I'm really keen to check these gravy chips out; I've been hearing quite a bit about them to/from work. hrmm gravy chip sandwich.
  15. The tensioner location does need a little fiddling with. Im soon to do a 100,000km service so I'll measure mine up as when drilling we made sure of belt clearance etc
  16. Mine looks 100% stock; even the exhaust is hard to pick yet it still goes ok. /edit better not really say that. If I were to do it again I'd buy something with mods already done. Its so damn expensive to do it from scratch.. Selling modded cars you get bugger all because people thing oh no they are thrashed.. yet really.. the bits that get thrashes are so cheaply replaced in the grand scheme of things. As long as the body, paint and interior are good.. who cares. Owning mine since 2001 and never being slapped with a defect I must admit I do feel my time is running out. Good thing I have a spare motor sitting here lol Sorry for spamming Ash. consider it a free bump lol.
  17. Its sad but its the stock look stock height is the only way. A set of decent 225/50 16's on stock rims hold my 260rwkw odd fairly well through second compared to average tyres previously skating around in third; lower the pressure a little and there's not a hint of wheelspin through second. Some time ago a family friend who is a police officer said the 3 biggest things that attract the police; milo tin as she referred to it, lowered and wheels. Any of those and your a target as its highly likely you've also spent $$ on a boost controller etc. Definitely makes me think twice about driving the car to Mallala. I think I'll hire a car trailer and tow it down with no plates so it can't be defected when I take it out.
  18. Yeah it sucks.. you pretty much have to drive around a 100% stock looking car.
  19. So what did he ping you for? just lowered?
  20. Bit like mine was when I first got it back in late 2001 when r32's were 21-24k. Now pushing over 260,000km's on the odo. :S Over 200,000km's with my arse sitting in it. If you can afford the petrol these days hell why not. Enjoy the car. These days I hardly drive it.. So in with a big set of lumpy cams. Cars off the road at the moment looking forward to a bit of lope from the rb30det
  21. Or the auto's making decent power drop it back and watch the speedo sit on 160km/h as you fill the street full of smoke with no brake. Much more cooler than a rev in neutral.
  22. Buy an $8 bottle of brake fluid and do it your self with from memory a size 10 or 8 small ringy. First off I usually suck the fluid out of the reservoir then refill and then drip bleed. So crack the master cyls nipple (if it has one) and drip bleed until the fluid is clear; then do the same for the center box thing if your skyline has it and then finally the slave cyl. Once fluid is nice and clear get some one in the car pumping the pedal; hold the pedal to the floor then crack the bleed nipple on the slave cyl until just before fluid stops exiting the nipple; then have th person pump the pedal again and repeat.. Make sure you keep the master cyl full of fluid.
