Whats the link I've lost it. Mine isn't the best comparison as it runs a shorter diff ratio 4.363:1 + due to the lazy actuator it wasn't making 15psi until 4500rpm on the dyno. ~11psi at 3000rpm. I had a cheap ball/spring bleeder on it which was taken off due to the rb20det gearbox; it brought boost on MUCH earlier; we saw 19psi by ~3200rpm which tailed off to 17psi by peak power where we saw a peak of 285rwkw. So 17psi 285rwkw. The curve was a bit wobbly due to something strange going on. Shaun said it was airflow related and most likely related to the small cams (240dur in 232dur exh). I have since measured the intercooler piping which I've discovered the OD is only 50m :S So 2" IC piping I'd say is the issue. I had it fitted ~6years ago when 200rwkw was the now 400rwkw. I'm sorting an FMIC for it now + ebc and baby cams all to go in so fingers crossed with the std exh. manifold we can push 300rwkw out of it. Would love to get a hold of a hks cast manifold

've posted the results on the main page as well.

Top work Al. What do you think? Feels like a BIG NA with a nice top end?
-
The std cams would have been pushing open the lifters due to the larger base circle. Get them bled shove the std sticks back in and see how you go. I've got a set of 24 here that you can give a go if you wish. Let me know and I'll drop them around Shauns.

Should really be jumping on your back as well because you also did multiple laps booting it past Boostworx. He as you were told not to fly up and down in front of the workshop yet when leaving he the soarer still booted it one last time. Its simple stupidity to fly up and down a side street that is used by many others, a day care center across the road and oldies who live in units. There is a time and place for everything; the dyno day was not the time or place. As a result the police did rock up shortly after you left due to multiple complaints and singled matty out for towing his track car down on a car trailer and leaving it on the road while he ran up the tow car (commodore) for shits and giggles.
-
If you can't be bothered with editing out the number plates I can host it if you wish and we can then send links around to a few of us.. By any chance you didn't get the Soarer on vid did you? Both on the dyno and up/down the street?

Top result on such low boost Steve. How were the AFR's?

A big thanks to all those that came. A lot of cars made some good power especially considering the heat. ---------- The idiot in the soarer deserves a good smack around the head; he has brought upon him self considerable police attention so we will no doubt see a yellow sticker on his window some time soon for his loud running on 7 POS sounding exhaust. Unfortunately due to his stupid antics police arrived soon after and gave Matty31 a hard time; thanks to the 'pretty boy' in his Soarer Matty is now out of pocket nearly $300. But as they say what goes around comes around. Got to love Karma. ---------- The list of results is attached. If I have got anything wrong let me know and I'll fix it up. Thanks again to 99% of the people that behaved. Was a great turn out.

Sounds like u want an explanation.. lol I simply logged in to this thread clicked close on any pop ups (as i tend to get a couple of pms per day) posted what i had to post and then jumped out as I've been busy with both work and trying to get the bbq/drinks and crap sorted.

Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
Cubes replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Kaz180. In that size why not consider a t1r or proxes 4 toyo? -
Absolute bugger its going to be so warm not to worry plenty of drinks. It will definitely be a good check up to see if its safe to give the cars a bootfull in the warm weather. Drinks are on ice. bbq is ready. See you all tomorrow people 10am the first car will roll up on the rollers.

Defence Health here.. Pro's cheaper than the others. Cons. Absolutely crap website.

I bought a Genuine Nissan cam belt for $90. The tensioners are $80 each from holden then u can reco them for $40 (2 bearings inside so 2x20) if you have a press. I grab the NSK bearings as used in the genuine nissan tensioners from some bearing company. Its not CBC as they want stupid prices for the bearings and are not genuine NSK. I don't bother with an idler as they are stupidly priced; so 2 tensioners it is. + the tensioners are locking tensioners so just as good as an idler once nipped up. The dayco cam belt for the rb30det is $38. Its done a little over 70,000km's and still looks ok. Nearing time for another service though. The water pump is aftermarket from repco/motormates/sprint auto's. There is a cheaper one (-$10) and it doesn't come with a gasket, I go the better one. I've never had issues with them and this one has been good with no leaks at 70,000km's so far. The old rb20 did around 100,000km's and the aftermarket pump still looked fine. Unless you are 7000rpm+ (n1 water pump) all the time I don't really see a need for a genuine water pump. Some things like clutch master/slave cylinders etc its definitely worth going genuine.

Thats unbelievable.. I think i'd cry spending so much on a service. In the past I've always done the work myself. But with slightly less quality oil that what it looks like you have gone with. $090 - cambelt $085 - waterpump $180 - tensioners $65 - Motor oil $14 - oil filter $90 - g/box oil $70 - diff oil $30 - brake/clutch fluid flush. ------ $624 GTR = just that little bit more expensive.

That sucks. :S GT-SS @ 17psi. I'd guess a very responsive 280rwkw maybe scrape 300rwkw. I have NFI really. lol
-
No need buddy. Ran in to a couple of hurdles.. I have a couple of boost leaks so waiting on some new silicon to arive + i've discovered the 'airflow' problem I have is the small arsed 2" FMIC piping i have. When I had the fmic fitted a good 6years or so ago it was fitted with anticipation of 200rwkw. 2" piping simply doesn't cut it for much over 250rwkw. :S

Just remember to respect ppls privacy with no number plates shown online. So photo and vid editing unless we post them amongst us privately. ######################### Also NO burnouts, hooning around the nearby streets or reving show off your loud exhaust unless you want the police to rock up and defect everyone. So do be sensible and dont ruin it for every one else. Previous SAU dyno days have been really good; excellent behaviour and no issues with police. So please do keep it this way #########################

Rb25 Gearbox Into R32
Cubes replied to lwboosted's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thats strange as I found the top of the gearbox snagged the floor pan with the xmember around 2mm away from the floor pan. So I was forced to space it away. :S Did you massage the floor pan a touch? -
Check the rack ends to ensure they don't have slop as well. I replaced 1 wheel bearing but it was noisy. Driving straight it was quiet; on a slight bend it would whoopwhoopwhoop as they tend to do. From memory the wheel bearing was around $250 inc labour.

Rb25 Gearbox Into R32
Cubes replied to lwboosted's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thats it. The plate is there for 2 reasons.. To space the box down a touch so it doesn't foul the tunnel and to provide a little extra stability to the xmember as when you only use one of the origional bolt holes the back of the xmember hangs off the floor pan. Thats where the plate provides support for it. -
Those that have paid need not pay anything on the day.

Rb25 Gearbox Into R32
Cubes replied to lwboosted's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The standard x-member bolts up to it. 3 bolts + 1 nut + locktight in total are required. -
If there's no oil pressure in the head the lifters won't be able to pump up. So they will continue to tick. Is it ALL the lifters or what sounds like some of them. Your turbo setup. Still running a restrictor?
-
I gather you have never bled/primed hydraulic lifters then. They ALWAYS tick and sound like crap until you take the car for a reasonable drive. Well mine have and they have been done 3 times troubleshooting shit springs.
