lol.. its worth paying for 1hr in u-park than being defected.

If you have the engine manual you can get a rough idea if they are working as there's a small test you can perform with a multimeter. Tapping the block may not work as the knock sensors only hear between 2 frequency's. Apart from that.. You have a powerfc with a knock readout. Let us know if the block tap works.

Z32 Afm's - Will I Need A Tune?
Cubes replied to DLUD3R's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Its definitely not recommended but is fine to limp to the tuners with. LIMP being the keyword. DO not put that foot down. On the dyno they tend to run a little richer at cruise/light throttle but not so rich the o2 sensor can't trim. Once on the throttle; its too difficult to tell; just not worth the risk as the airflow curves are fine for light throttle but at full throttle a given airflow value uses a lesser load point to allow for the greater airflow resolution of the larger afm; so yes chances are it will lean out IF you give it some decent throttle. Not only that but it will be running more ignition timing. -
Its all good.. I don't believe they test headlight height at regency. Just operation? I could be wrong though. I've re-aimed my lights in the past. I usually pull up ~ 1.5meters away from a fence; mark a line that is level with the top of my knee and adjust both lights so the top cut off line is level with that. Take it for a drive and make sure my lights aren't shining up in to the back window/interior of the car in front. Over bumps etc its ok to have the occasional flash in to the interior. A normal commodore sedan you should see the cut off line ~ level with the middle of their rear brake lights. You'll know what I mean by cut off line when you start adjusting; at the moment I don't think you would see a cut off line as they are pointed up. When mine was at the crash shop being sprayed some time ago that's how the bloke told me to do it.

Rb20/25/vg30 Hydraulic Lifters

AAC Solanoid is back up for sale. GTS4 Diff centre is back up for sale. -
Hey luke.. $20-$30 at a local crash shop and they can aim your lights correctly (down a tad). On corner entry they were hammering my side mirror blinding me and on the straights it felt as if the interior of my car was lit up. I waved you past when first heading up in to the hills, on the way back you ended up behind again and I almost missed a corner because I simply couldn't see.

Gtr Clsd Diff's Worth The Rebuild?
Cubes replied to Cubes's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
So nismo upgrade kit it is. The other half has given me a go ahead for 2 weeks time if that's ok Beer Baron? Beer/Baron & Dave, Which kit would you consider for the street? 8kg or the 12kg? Keeping in mind the ramp angles of the std diff are lesser than that of the nismo diff. The std gtr diff engages smoothly/requires more throttle where as the nismo locks up real quick. Unless the kit also replaces the pressure rings which I'm fairly certain it doesn't? -
Skylines alt is rated at 80-90amps. :S 140amp alt here you come.

Z32 Afm's - Will I Need A Tune?
Cubes replied to DLUD3R's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
It will be fine for limping around but don't go giving it full throttle. -
RB20/25/26 knock sensors are all the same. I'm after a pair also. :S How are yours playing up? My original set wouldn't read any higher than 1 knock on the pfc. This other set I have in won't read higher than ~14. I've put the multimeter on to them and they have gone open circuit? i think. Constantly reading 13-14volts.

on Boostworx dyno?
-
Sorry Madaz, Im with Oosh. If it were making 550nm of torque with it would be making a hell of a lot more power than 154fwkw. The dyno operator has something setup strange. 550nm rear wheel torque at 2500rpm is 154 front wheel kw so its impossible as peak power is made after peak torque. If you grab one of shauns dyno graphs determine the the rpm at a given speed; take the rear wheel torque figures and punch it in to the formula you will find its spot on. For example Mine is making ~430nm of torque at ~6000rpm. Which works out to ~268rwkw. At ~4500rpm mines making ~480nm of torque which is 225rwkw. When we had the boost controller on with 19psi it was making ~550nm at 3300rpm which was 190rwkw.

Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?

Congrats Legend.. Very respectable time. Not just in to the 11's but 11.7 is well in to it. --- Lukaz. Don't be weak push in as much boost as it will take before it stops making reasonable power. -
I've been quite happy with ATI's drivers. Never any real issues; if a new release has an issue or two its almost always fixed the next driver release (which is monthly). From what I have seen Nvidia have always been a tad slow with driver releases/fix's. i.e oblivion, chipset driver fix's etc. The oldies have a nvidia card and I tend to get annoyed at a few little issues it has with desktop redraw. Doesn't mean I wouldn't buy a nvidia card as I would. They currently offer the best performance and are stable just like ATI. ATI's drivers were shiet back before the old 7900 pro days. Since then as far as I have seen with the games I play.. Top notch.

Followed the link.. Dude seems fairly serious. :S That HAS to be THE most dodgiest mod of all lol.
-
If you have tried another gauge you would have plumbed in another sensor??
-
lol.. Yer I think Boostworx dyno days have been $30 in the past? I can't remember to be honest.
-
Can he do it for $30? --- With regards to the toyota vs nissan day.. Whats happeneing to the other $10 us nissan blokes put towards the run? Is it going towards their club or Boostworx?

My old VS 5ltr with its ecu, cam and a 5speed used to return ~17l/100km's cruising around fairly sedately. Jumping in to a skyline that originally returned 10.5l/100km's, then crept up to close to 11L/100km's and now since this last larger turbo up to 12l/100kms (given i did drive it fairly hard) the skylines SIP the fuel; not drink it. The old V8 skulled fuel and made ~70rwkw less than what the Skyline does. :S

Ahh I was under the impression you went with the R32 RB25DE head. Yes the R33's run 2 different length springs; they are a tad more than the r32 springs from Performance springs in QLD. The factory springs may very well do the job with the r33's. The problem witht he R32's is that the springs they use in the R32 Rb25DE head are the same as they are in the RB20DET head. While they are fine controlling a smaller valve with the rb20; once you shove more weight behind from the rb25's head them they struggle. :S Let us know the seat pressure just for my own curiosity. If need be shim them up a touch to get around 50-55 pounds.

I'll definitely be going to check out the Nissan vs Toyota dyno day. Set it for a couple of months following.

Any one have pics of the sore loosers car? Any pics of the car that won?

$20 pick up is all good. Pm sent. -
Andrew, I believe one of the blokes at GCG who has an RB30DET did this mod to his gt35. Unsure of any gains. Might be worth a call.
