  1. On GTRs the left rear breather pipe runs to the rear turbo inlet, if you get oil pooling in the head while under boost it will pump some into the intake system. Once our GTR was pumping blue smoke while under hard boost, we thought one of the turbos had shit itself or the engine had done a ring, intercooler and piping had oil in them, cleaned it out and it never returned. So maybe check your breather system (not sure on your model), if you see a tube running from the breather to your turbo inlet it may be the cause of your issues.
  2. I wounded if I can squeeze these under my r32 gtrs guards lol
  3. Collar only needed on cranks with a narrow drive, wide drive cranks are fine as it speads the force over a wider area.
  4. Do the pads have a 45 degree chamfer on the leading and trailing edges? This helps a lot to control squeal. Normally its the friction of the pads rubbing against the pistons or against the caliper, some old school mechanics use to use copper grease to lube those points. The outside anti rattle shims can also become weak with use and heat, sometimes a bit of a bend to tighten up the pressure against the pads helps.
  5. Thanks mate. Loved the look of them. Will sort of regret it if they go haha
  6. Would of been interested if you were abit closer to melbourne
  7. Where are you located?
  8. Hi, Expression of interest on my wheels. Since the new build it looks like due to the power output i will be running the stock wheels with some MT ET Streets so its time for these to go... If they dont sell for a reasonable price i will keep them for a street setup. NISMO LMGT4 STYLE WHEELS 19 x 10 + 20 (cost me $1550) Federal 275 35 19 tires with 99% tread (cost over $1200) Not a single scratch on any of the wheels. They sit right on the guards and have great rim to guard gap with still having good ground clearance. I never got pulled over with the car looking the way it did. Wheels inside guards and good height it looked nice and clean. No guard mods were required however i am running coilovers. Please txt me on 0411184963 if interested. Can easily arrange to send them interstate at buyers expense. Chasing $2,200 ono
  9. Its going to stand out like dogs balls if you pardon the pun.
  10. Is it new or used? Is there a engine number stamped on it?
  11. 100% the clutch booster, we have had this happen twice to us, the diaphram inside splits and gets a leak.
  12. Sounds like your fuel may be bad from sitting so long in the tank, and or the plugs are a little fould from spending the majority of their time running on bad fuel or a little rich while warming up. Id put some fresh fuel in and a new set of plugs first and go from there. You could also have a case of a sticking gummed up injector from sitting there for so long.....
  13. Yeah thats why my questions were worded as they were. It does not look like a spun bearing, cap does not look like its cooked, id be looking elsewhere for the oil pressure drop. I would however inspect all bearings for metal to metal contact before reassembly in case one or more is damaged due to the momentary pressure drop. One thing about track days and drift sessions is the high g loadings can move the oil away from the pickup, add to that higher RPMS which pools the oil in the head and its a recipy for oil starvation and spun bearings. If all checks out OK drop a oil restrictor in under the head, and a larger oil sump with trap doors and longer pickup to make sure you dont starve it of oil at minimum.
  14. How are the crank journals, scored? Was a bearing spun? If so dont muck around, in fact id look at getting some beefier rods in there to avoid this happening again. Hows the oil pump, is it cracked? What happened, were you holding the revs up high for a while, while redlining it? If so could be oil surge that built up in the head and dried out your sump that caused this.....good oil drain back to the sump is a known RB issue.
  15. Hey mate where in melb are you? SMS me on 0411184963
  16. Ive seen many pressure plates with balance holes drilled into them. We are taking our bottom end to duggan balancing next week, crank is balanced, then harmonic balancer and flywheel are added and balanced then pressure plate. The whole idea is you need to be able to swap the flywheel on its own or maybe just replace your clutch kit so you dont want to throw out the balance of everything else because you are changing just 1 part.
  17. Why dont you work your original engine for your power goal? Keeps the car legal, im sure your local police may not be too happy finding out its a RB30 with a 26 head in a GTT. For the power your chasing its not worth the effort, use what you already have.
  18. Barry at Edge Motorworks. Thread is below.... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/431100-good-workshop-near-caroline-springs/ Edit, and another thread.... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/433767-edge-motorworks/
  19. How does is sound while cranking warm, does it sound like the starter struggles a little to turn the motor over, sort of like the battery is losing its balls a little? If so pull some timing out and try again. Of course if you have a leaking/stuck open injector thats another matter......
  20. Its called heat soak, any car when switched off has the hot water rise to the top and get things very hot with the engine off, more so than when running. Your oil being black is not "burnt", its just full of contaninates, im surprised you threw it on a dyno, did burnouts etc with a cheap oil and then thought about using the good oil. Generaly speaking you want water and oil temps to ideally be around the same temp.
  21. Normaly its a sign that the oil used is too thick. Years ago some Toyota boxes were like this from factory, very hard to shift and notchy when cold, the repair bulitin was to run a thinner oil in them.
  22. Just for my own info/education, does anyone have a picture of a R34 Dual mass flywheel and clutch assembly. Im gobsmacked that Nissan used them on a performance car...... Edit, just researched it and found this thread with some good pics in case anyone else wants to see it....http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/422601-r34-gtr-clutch-flywheel-and-clutch-line/
