  1. when i saw ya reply i was hoping u had an exhuast to offer....lol i have a stock motor here i just gotta throw in some forgies and rings and bearings and its good to go, problem is i want to do a rb26/30 instead which makes things difficult really at the pits I had a chat to my engineer mate and he thinks if i submit the mod forms and dont list the cams and ecu and see what happens at inspection time, ill just get approval for the other crap and hope to hell i get a good bloke down at welshpool pits
  2. good info, i find the same angle works a treat but the trolley jacks are always too high to hold under the rear of the box so we made up a small flat tray on wheels pretty much 20mm from the ground and sit the rear of the box on that to bring it in and out and it works great, ill get a pic soon and post it up if anyone else is keen on the idea
  3. the cams are pretty big, bigger than 272s and higher than 11mm lift so they are not easy to hide the turbo is a big single and that doesnt help the looking stock factor lol. i might give it a crack getting this engine over with my current ecu and hope to christ they dont pick the cams and ecu thanks for the feedback so far guys
  4. hey guys im lookin at doing a 30 bottom end in my car .i have a defect sticker on the car now and the current rb26 is too modified to pass because of cams and ecu, so i bought a low compression rb26 complete engine and wanna build a 26/30 with low mount turbos im just wondering could i plug in a stock gtr ecu into the factory gtr loom and it run the engine fine? i would use stock injectors as well, does anyone have any idea if it will run well and drive smoothly enough to pass an inspection? i dont need an emmisions test or nothing but they will drive the car and it needs to drive along in a normal fashion. If not ill have to stick to using another rb26 bottom end and build that
  5. Thanks Sean ill be in contact soon if i need it, im unsure what im gonna do now i got a few dramas with this car passing the pits lol. Dale yer not good news, I need to swap the engine for a stock engine with low mount twin turbos and stock ecu if possible to pass easy, i got picked on major stuff last inspection and need full mod approval. i got picked for no engine number, engine conversion, auto to manual conversion, suspension, brakes, emmisions, turbo, etc etc pretty much the whole damn lot i got a few options now, i have recently bought a low compression rb26 complete so i will build that with some forgies and chuck it in with some low mount turbos in the future, im thinking strip mine out now and hand the rego in and track it for a while and see how it goes, i wanna go back to the drags atleast before it gets a new motor and run a 10 second pass, i got a big tune booked for 3-4 weeks away to so ill be on race fuel and about 26-28psi boost (instead of 18psi). Ill see how light the stagea can get as well with everything out. these are just a couple of ideas i am thinking of at the moment, ill see what happens in next few days

  8. agreed with two posts above, the twins are an absolute nightmare to work on and i wont have twins ever again on any of my rb26s unless i need to make it look stock for passing an inspection, the single is sooo nice to work on, i know it shouldnt need to be worked on but that never happens in a gtr lol
  9. cheers mate i lost track there is that many references to the v44, 66 and 88 i dont know whats what lol, i think the vipec site needs to add a v66 and the specs to save all the questions im gonna be keen for one at $1500 its perfect price, just hope they are easy for most tuners as alot of tuners here are not fans of the autronic and im assuming this is a similiar design. When is the software program gonna be on the website i would love to check it out?
  10. has the v66 got 6 ignition outputs? or do u have to run wasted spark as per autronics? if it only has 3 ign outputs can u buy an expander to make it 6 ign outputs?
  11. Hey mate, my rb26/30 build is along way from being done, i gotta fund the build, hence the selling of bits and pieces i have lying around here. I was planning on running them with a haltech e11v2 ecu and the tuner reccomended them for my current engine (600rwhp rb26) and said he has had no dramas with them on a 2jz running high 8s down the 1/4 mile and running 35psi+ boost levels. I changed tuners and never ever used the haltech at all or the coils and now the haltech is sold i have these coils here The CP hunt is still on, im not chasing pistons right at the minute, im gonna attempt a stock bottom end and see what it can do first. I will keep on looking for the info but its not a huge priority at this stage. if i find anything out ill be posting info in the relevant thread. are u from Perth? i can give u details of the workshop i bought them from and call them, they rave about them lol. send me PM if u have any other questions mate
  12. In for results, good luck with it Paul, hope it goes smoothly mines going in for a race fuel and big boost tune in about 3-4 weeks now so ill see how far this t04z can go finally or how quick a rb26 can die lol
  13. these are to suit any car, they have built in igniter, they are ls1 style coilpacks, i have made up a bracket to mount them under the rb26 coilpack cover as well. u will need short ign leads to run these under the cover though, once covers on u wont tell they are aftermarket. I have the parts for leads to make up custom ones as well if anyone wants to buy them as well. heres a link to the ones they are...   17. i wouldnt touch nengun personally, they seem to be getting worse and worse, taking months to deliver goods, they will deliver just dont be in a hurry at all. try greenline.jp or perfectrun.com.au same prices and great service, ive had gear here in 4 days from payment, if they dont list what u want then email them and they can usually get everything u need. watch bringing big orders in at once or u will be taxed over 1k, i tend to split orders up incase they check the stuff at customs.
  18. just hook the tacho wire up as u have said to the tacho wire on the autronic and it will work, mine works perfectly this way

  21. i realise that i was qouting the mahle website which said rb30det so i assume it might mean with a double overhead cam head setup, maybe it was a typing error from the ebay seller. The acl ones also had 2 versions for the rb30et, one being a 7.5:1 cr and the other a 8.5:1 cr.

  24. that motor is still the same setup im building another rb26/30 at moment to go into a track gtst hopefully and then eventually put the 26/30 in the stagea and the 560hp engine in the track car im getting a big boost tune done soon on the stagea motor so hopefully things goto plan lol, its only on 18psi and pump fuel at moment so its just chugging along nicely ive always wanted to do a 26/30 and i just bought a low comp rb26 complete for cheap so im sussing out options and i hate looking for rb30det specific parts, i dont wanna end up with the wrong pistons etc from accidently buying rb30et ones. the initial motor will probably be stock 30 bottom end and limited to 400hp but i plan on building a 30 bottom end on the side for the stagea as 400hp just wont cut it in the heavy car. Have u got that gt35r on yours yet? how much power are u making and what sort rpm are u revving too?
