  1. what if you took 1 mm off each of the pads?? disc would remain untouched and all of its properties.. pads wear, i cant see a problem with it.. if it scrubs on the caliper, machine the caliper slightly... no doubt that is what nissan did to gtst calipers to fit the gtr.
  2. i think you'll need a 20mm gap as the top of the bolt is thicker than the thread.
  3. pm's sent guys. cradle rings awaiting payment boost controller awaiting payment
  4. just cut a section out the size of the bolt... it only needs to happen on the top rings and it doesnt not affect the effect.. i have done this on both my r33 and r32 and found the handling to be noticably better and the ride quality hardly changed. that is with solid alloy lock rings... not urethane pineapples.
  5. how grumpy does that thing sound!! it looks like a real handful though but it doesnt look power related.. given that its a tight bumpy track he was hardly on it.. get it on tsukuba and see how it goes. is that a bottle of giggle gas in the middle?? what sort of GTR uses frickin giggle gas?? thats a disgrace.
  6. Hey guys, im returning my car back to stock and have some bits to sell. HDI Front Mount Kit: all pipes, joiners, clamps, brackets.. bit dirty, few scratches, but overall micky mouse working order, core in good cond, no bent fins or dents. $200 Hicas Lock Bar: Steel Jobby, does the job, almost new. $50 Alloy Cradle Rings: all 8, have slits for easy install.. all in good condition. $20 Just Jap Silicon Radiator Hoses: top and bottom silicon radiator hose, pretty blue. almost brand new condition. $50 Cusco Rear Coilovers: you can have all 4 but LHF one is bent at the top... just needs a new shaft. they were bought from an importer and were second hand when i got them, but they have no leaks, squeaks or damage.. work well. rears are 6kg and fronts are 8kg.. 5 click damper adjustment. $200 for rears only, $300 for all 4. Alternator: came off vehicle with 60000kms, good cond, bought as a spare, never used it. $40 Manual Boost Controller: not sure what brand, its small and blue... works fine. $20 all parts are located in East Maitland NSW, im happy to post anywhere in aus though. cheers Linton
  7. yeh its not a common colour like the other silver... it looks very clean and still keeps the car looking phat.. it looks nice and bright and fresh, not dull or dark.. rim colour choice is an issue but silver and white work well.
  8. drag radials?? WTF?? parachute?? WTF?? Small rims?? WTF?? is all this air lock transmission crap and shit really worth it to go from 9's to 8's?? give me a gtr that can drive to the track, belt out a 9, and drive home again anyday over a fully prepared 8 sec drag car.
  9. no no... no speeding... just punting.. actually... just between you n me fatz, i reckon it was the lunch that bakes had at windsor that was causing the brake fade... you know, extra weight and all. it was fine on the freeway down.
  10. who cares what times it runs or what mph it gets... i went down with bakes and had a short stint behind the wheel on the drive home on the putty... i can tell you know this car hauls... it needs a brake upgrade to pull it up due to the sheer amount of speed it can build up in a short distance.. for the way bakes drives.. its got more than enough power.. for the way i was punting it, its got more than enough power... which is what bakes desires from his car... a street package... oodles of response and 300kw at the wheels.. it does that.. comfortable and easy to drive as he drives it day in day out to work.. it does that.. reliable and problem free.. its does that too.. that 10g he spent as been worth it in my books. i dont know what my r32 pulls on the dyno... i dont know what time it runs at the drags... i dont know how it fares to any other car on the road.... i do know that on the putty... when im driving it, it does everything i want it to, and everything ive put on the car enhances that feeling... i dont need to know what power it makes to be happy. no expectations, no dissapointments cheers Linton
  11. they are Work and they are not girly... thats all you need to know.. one of those james bond things. besides... where will your cage go if yo get speakers?? im just trying to save you some money.
  12. you dont even have to ask... after they see you they will just assume thats what your there for... if you had 3 pce meisters with black centres on the other hand.... they wouldnt assume you were a girl and they would offer you assistance... franjipani shaped ones FTW!!!!!!!
  13. thanks that is a special order colour, but thats not it.. its the middle door handle...
  14. i do that after winter, when its beach season... i use body weight routines + speed to cut body fat after winter bulking. bruce lee was a machine... high reps, light weights, but had the power to match.. ive read that he would read a book in one hand, curl a dumbell in the other, while doing the splits on two chairs... what a super kind o' guy!
  15. worrying about unsprung mass is fine... but if you going to that sought of extreme... what is your body weight?? where are you seated and how heavy is your seat?? have you lowered the seat mounts and moved the seat back, extending the pedals and steering wheel?? where is your battery?? do you have a high mount or low mount turbo?? given that most of the extra weight in a 10.5" rim will be in the outer rim... it will be bugger all really. say it adds a 500g to 1kg per wheel... thats 2-4kg to the total unsprung weight... but it will be shared amoung all the wheels and wont make that much difference really... unless youve got alloy hubs, 2 piece rotors with alloy hats, alloy calipers, alloy suspension arms, and really good tyres that are already on the limit of their grip... 500g is hardly going to make a difference per corner. what does a tyre weigh?? 10kg?... and a good quality light wheel 7kg?? im neither for or against the OP getting 10.5" rims... the fact that they are 19's is a bit of a worry, i dont think he is really into cornering or braking... maybe this thread and threads like this should be posted in cosmetic and styling because thats all it is.
  16. a mate has 215/45/17s Falken RT215 semi slicks.... he drives his rex a few times a week and on the weekends it can get a bit of a hard time.. they have been on there for 2 years now and hardly worn at all.. at this rate he'll get at least 4 years out of them... and they are super sticky for the street and awesome in the wet. he got them off ebay, brand new for $250 per tyre... best performance bang for buck hes spent yet.
  17. why oh why is this turning into another "stretching your tyres is wrong" thread. there are two sides to every coin.. i like stretch.. the more stretch the better.. i say. build a bridge, and lets band together and fight the real battle... which is cheap shitty chrome wheels. and i dont care what the population thinks... my front bar is held together by cable ties, the rims are dirty and unpolished. the calipers are a mix of flaking red and brake dust black.... i have never been to car show and my car never will... it is out in the mountains doing what its built to do. not sitting pretty for people to look at. for what its built to do.. stretched tyres work better, look better and i like them more... what you think matters not. not every car goes straight, round corners, or straight round corners. and i thought at first bakes wheels were 11" rims to have a stretched 275, but they are definatly 19x9.5" with a +7 offset and stretched 275's.
  18. +1 ^ i had a bar on my chest with 10kg on it, was doing a warm up set and just lowered it a little bit too far at the end of the set... from then on, if i was in the gym and alone, i use the smith machine for safety.. nothing looks dumber than having 10kg on your chest. haha. im with birds on the discipline.. i train alone... in my garage... no distractions, no f#&kwits, no judging, no shame. 1 year of gym membership = 1 piece of equipment per year. after 3 years, i have a power rack, olympic bar, ez curl bar, dumbells, 200kg of rubber coated weights, adjustable bench, power tower, heavy bag, speed bag, floor to ceiling bag, nice rubber flooring, and this year i will be purchasing a leg press and some more weights and next year i will be building a proper room for it all to get it out of the garage so i can get some room back for tools and machines. i worked out at fitness first last year... it was so frustrating being there with the crowds... the groups of testorone filled 21 yr olds, all huddled around the one leg press chatting, laughing, chekcing out the chicks, all doing 4 sets of 20 to look tough.. so annoying. 2 things get me through my workouts... 1. ronny coleman "light weight baby, light weight!" and 2. john cena can bench 250kg. check out bodybuilding.com for just about everything you want to know, however like all websites, you cant trust everything and have to pick your way through the crap.. rosstraining.com is brilliant also, ross enamit is a genius with some of his little inventions and workout ideas. cheers Linton
  19. amen with form... form first. i can squat 100kg with bad form... or 40kg with perfect form.. 40kg works my legs much more then 100kg. drop sets ftw... aslong as you are taking it to failure, or as close to failure as possible... your muscles are after that failure rep to grow, however there needs to be a certain rep range in order to work different muscle fibres... so dont just rack up your 1 rep max and go for it. its the whole "what doesnt kill you makes you stronger" thing, thats how your muscles work... by lifting weights, you are hurting your muscles, ripping them to shreds... then mr protein comes along and repairs them... then they grow so next time you lift the weight, they can handle it.. little beknowns to them little muscle fibres, you know this, and have racked on 5kg more.. and they have to do it again. cheers Linton
  20. i got a 32 for sale that would be an ideal project car if your interested. from my experience, an gtst is a completly different kettle of fish to the gtr... its not like the gtr is just a bigger better version... they both have their own lurks and perks and are completly different cars to drive.
  21. gday mate... first off, what sort of body type are you?? do you struggle to put weight on, ectomorph?? struggle to keep fat off, endomorph?? or can do just about anything you want and stay lean and build muscle?? damn mesomorphs! you have to establish that before undertaking trainging and diet routine.. for years i have been training like an animal, 4 times a week, eating monsterous amounts of food, and ive only grown a little bit, whereas other guys who go once or twice a week and then eat take away food all the time were getting bigger.. i realised i was training completly wrong for my body type.. now i train once a week.. doing a cycle of 4 routines per month.. and hitting it hard and letting my body rest for a week.. still consuming lots of food, but no supplements. it seems to be working. cheers Linton
  22. ok say it turns out that in the BNR32 models, there was Jet Silver Metallic and Spark Silver Metallic... not a light blue metallic... soooo.. can anyone show me the difference between the two??
