im amazed by that avatar aswell... not because she fell into the water... but because of old mates reaction... or lack of... he doesnt even flinch. haha.. models... hes either too stoopid to realise whats happened... or has too little brain capacity to walk in a straight line and be aware of whats going on a round him.

battery going flat after 1 year?? that doesnt sound right mate.. what brand is it?? with batteries they have a pro rata type warranty for 4 years... ive had many a weekend warriors and not had a drama with them going flat... check your alternator charge rate.. have the car running and put a multimeter across the terminals, if its 14.2v.. happy days... under 13... alternator stuffed check the levels of your battery, the electrolyte level should be just at the bottom of the plugs.. or atleast, completly covering the cells.. if thats ok... check for voltage leak... put a multimeter on the terminals with the car off... check the voltage (should be 12v or so) and watch to see if it slowly goes down.. so maybe come back and check it every 10-15 min for a few hours) if its still 12v, then volts are not escaping via something using them.. if everything above is fine... get someone to start the car while you are checking the volts... if its showing 12v at the battery then drops to lower than 5v when trying to start... the battery is farked.. it has a surface charge, which can run your dash lights and everything, but doesnt have the guts to actually crank the engine.. if you said the battery was original and untouched... then id point at the battery straight away... but if its only a year old... im pointing at a gremlin somewhere. if your car is a monthly warrior... then you can get trickle chargers... which supply a low current and low voltage, just to keep the battery topped up... you can use them 24/7 as they shut off when not needed. cheers Linton

i want curves like that! good stuff.

i did the same as you, sold my line and bought an big hp aussie ute.. had enough with all that jap imports brings... within a few months it was gone and i was back in a japanese performance car.. just this one had less cop appeal and 4 doors... sure the ute was fast and new and sounded great... but it was shit quality, shit fell apart, rattled, clicked, and shit was expensive, i sold it when it had 24000kms and developed a rattle on cold starts... japanese cars sooo much better. congrats with the purchase... hope you dont lose too much money on it.

there are guys that do paintless hail damage repairs... the use a vacuum or plunger and pull the dent out.. dont need a respray... otherwise... for that price, you could get a new c/f bonnet, bootlid, and front and rear wide guards... get the roof hail fixed and paint it black. or... keep the hail damage... make it look stock and uncared for... and find a monster turbo kit.

China Intake Pipe Kit For Your Gtr - A Review.
NZM.031 replied to rev210's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ive just baroozed this thread.. and that is atrocious, but i will say this... i was talking to a guy in a bike shop, after looking for a new bike (treadly).. i picked up a $1300 felt s-28 i think it was... felt say they are made in the states... on the bottom its made in taiwan... ok fair enough, its a cheap bike... i then had a look at the cheapest cervelo... and it was made in china... so i have a look at a more expensive cervelo... again, made in china.. all the shimano components, made in china, orbea's... which are made in the heart of the pyrenes... are actually made in china too. i questioned old mate about why should i pay $5000 for a bike thats made in the same factory, and same components and has same geometry and frame material as a $1300 bike. he said the reason companies get stuff made in china is a) its very cheap and b) they have the technology to do a good job, and cope with the quantity.. like anyone, if Felt want a cheap frame, they ask for one, if they want a good frame, they ask for one, it costs much more, and is much better quality carbon, even though its made from china and the frames have the same geometry and material its not all the same shit.. hks intercooler kits are awesome... but arent always "bolt on" sometimes p/s coolers and a/c fans get in the way and arent mentioned on purchase, or in the instructions.. but they are good quality. i have fitted a few hybrid intercoolers and have not had any dramas with dodgy pipes, hoses blowing off, or things getting in the way.. with a brand name like "performance wise" and a kit name like "autobahn88"... i cant say that i would be even looking at these items. cheers Linton -

hey guys, im returning my r32 back to stock. i bought the SAFC II brand new in 2005, i used it on my r33 for a few months, then put it back in the box, i used it for a brief period on my missus' 4AGE corolla for shits and giggles for a week or two, then back in the box, then dug it out again to put on the r32 to run the Z32 afm.. it is in perfect working condition, and the unit itself is immaculate, i have most of the manuals, and the original box somewhere (just moved so not sure where), however all can be found on the Apexi U.S. website. i bought the Z32 afm and plug from CRD in Dec 08.. still have original box and receipt from CRD.. it is in new condition, and was mounted solid with a bracket, hasnt been flogging around.. comes with plug to suit. $300 each or $500 for both. items located in East Maitland NSW, but can post ANYWHERE COMPLEMENTARY (thats for free) cheers Linton

i cant remember where you were up to last time i was here... have you got any pics yet of how the wheels fit??
-
are they bakes' old wheels fatz??
-
the plugs were fine.. and so end another episode of "name that failure", thanks for playing.
-
sorry baron... cant tell or id have to remove you from existence.
-
scott at insight put new plugs in it as he found a small... yet rather large, mistake with the plugs that were in it.
-
HKS quite possibly change their coilpacks as often as they do plugs.. which is after 7 seconds.. i have no doubt that the standard coilpacks are capable, when new.. but i think id rather cough up $600 for splitfires than $1500 for a new set of stockies.
-
and M speed's time attack R34 gtr uses splitfires.. sooo, whats your point?
-
would it not be worth it to upgrade the coilpacks anyway... they are 10 years old, the engine is making 150kw more than standard... bakes has spent alot of the folding stuff on all this gear... even if they didnt need to be done, it would be a worth while upgrade. what happens if he swaps some coils for someone else's... and the other person's cant handle the power and break down... then bakes is up for 2 sets of coils instead of one. the only way to rule out the coils is to get new ones.
-
yes but it is 10 years old, and the engine is making alot more power than the standard engine, and the coilpacks just cant handle it anymore.
-
remove coilpack, delicatly place it on a bench and then smash it with a hammer, put coilpack back in.. if problem persists.. get new coilpack, repeat process for each coilpack or until all 6 are royal blue in colour. works everytime. cheers linton

steam cleaners are great if you can get one, degreasers are shit as they leave a horrible residue, but you could use cheap degreaser to get most of it clean, then something like brake cleaner as it doesnt leave a residue, Kenco Shift it is awesome too... or spray and wipe.... spray it on, leave it soak in for a bit, then hose it off.
