gday all, this is an email i received from my old boy.. Subject: Very Important Notice to all Car Enthusiasts Below is some important Info we would like to pass on - Dear Car Club members, On Wednesday the 1st of July, Wyong Shire Council advertised for Expressions Of Interest in the proposed ‘Wyong Automotive Racing Precinct’. Essentially, Wyong Council are looking at the level of interest shown by local and surrounding car clubs in a motor sport / driver training facility on the Central Coast of NSW, 1 hour from Hornsby and 40 minutes from Newcastle. Having been an avid follower and participant in motorsport for the last 20 years, I was very disappointed, like many of us, to see the demise of Amaroo Park Raceway and the impending demise of Oran Park does not leave NSW motorsport lovers with too many venues to view and enjoy our sport. Wyong Shire Council has asked that interested parties complete a survey and return it to them by the 17th of July which does not give us much time. The questionnaire / survey can be found at the following address. http://www.wyong.nsw.gov.au/about/Motor_sp...uestionaire.pdf I feel very strongly about the opportunity for us to contribute to the development of a genuine motorsport/ driver training facility that is well overdue. It would provide us all with an alternate venue to showcase our sport and help develop our kids into safer drivers of the future. We cannot let an opportunity like this pass us by. It has taken too long to come to reality and left unsupported, will disappear indefinitely. For those of you that require additional information, please view the website at http://www.wyong.nsw.gov.au/about/council_notices.html#40 or contact Kathryn Heintz, Strategic Planner on 43505552 or at [email protected] I encourage your members to take the time to fill out this questionnaire and return it to Wyong Shire Council prior to July 17. They can address it to: Council Chambers PO Box 20 Wyong NSW 2259 This is a matter of utmost urgency. Please feel free to circulate this email to anybody who you feel may benefit from such a facility right here on the Central Coast. The more support, the better for all of us. Many thanks, heres the pdf form Motor_sport_facility_questionaire.pdf cheerio Lint

well im not sure now that you say that... i suppose the 1uz is all alloy vs cast block of 2j.. it would also be shorter in height, meaning it wouldnt throw around as much side to side force as the high straight 6.. i can see some merit to it in terms of why the jgtc cars run v8s... but for a street application thats not very well thought out in terms of heat and turbo placement, i cant see the point... and to ask $45000 is a bit much.. considering you can pretty much bolt that turbo to a stock 2jz bottom end.. leaving you enough change to buy some decent wheels (not saying gtr wheels arent decent) and the 2jz looks so much smoother and tidier in the supra engine bay than the 1uz. for the same price (nearly) you could buy twoogle.. hmmm... v8 supra or twoogle??
-
2J all the way....all the way!! if you want a v8.. why not just get a soarer?? it may have an extra 25% capacity but hes put in a heavier engine, in an already nose heavy car, and put the turbo right up the front... on the wrong side of the front wheels.. and thats not a small/light turbo either... imagine the amount of understeer it would have over a 2j with the same turbo.. not to mention the heat soak into the radiator from the exhaust being right there... thats got to rob power aswell. is there any real benefit in overall performance by spending the money on doing this?? i think not. the Jun supra dont need no mongrel v8 conversion.

Why Are R34 Gt-r Still So Expensive
NZM.031 replied to rehab2010's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i dont think the r35 will have much effect on the price of the rb26 gtr's as its a completly different kettle of fish.. its the start of a new run of gtr's.. given the choice, i would have an rb powered gtr or an original hakosuka over the r35, as good of a performance car as it is. i dont think im the only one to have a love for the rb26dett that is not easily swayed. -
Are 20' Volk Gtc's Are Too Big For A R33 Gtr?
NZM.031 replied to KR4-GTR's topic in General Maintenance
nooooo to 20's...... slight no to 19's, i think 18's give it the right look, the car can be lower and looks more in proportion with the height and width of the car.. the 19s on those cars make them look high, and therefore make them look tall and skinny.. 18s will make it lower, and therefore shorter and wider. 19's look almost too big on an r34. -
i have a blocking plate if you want it... i can post it to you for $15.00. to get the sound your after, you really need a bigger turbo, and a metal intake pipe to the turbo. the air reversion is what makes the noise, which you get with a bigger turbo, the stock rubber pipe cushions it and you can hardly hear it.. which is what its meant to do. it also makes releasing the throttle, aka on gear changes or after hard accelerating, very very harsh.. especially compared to the standard bov which feels like theres nothing there. its not worth it in my opinion.. i have only blocked off the bov to run an aftermarket one in a different spot... i kept the original one on for police issues but blocked it.

The Best Looking R33 I 've Seen
NZM.031 replied to R34_luvr's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
its all about taste, and horses for courses.... i dont care what you do.. aslong as you own you decision... dont get a pleather interior and then put it down because others do if its what you want and you are happy with it. the problem with show... is its just that... show.. no purpose what so ever, except to look at.. and the fatter, grumpier, driven cars in the carpark get my attention and respect than the trailer queens with the candy paint and white leather interior, and engines that cant be started because they will change the colour of the coatings etc. flashy wheels that have to be a ridiculous offset in order to sit inside the guards so it can be stupid low, and are usually wrapped in cheap rubber as it doesnt drive anyway... and an interior that you cant use because it will get soiled and stained from normal wear and tear. when you get in a skyline of any sort with usable street power and grip, and thrash it down a windy road... all thoughts of interiors and what it looks like from the outside and how clean and polished your engine bay is, suddenly disappear and you couldnt give a stuff what others think... the only thing you are thinking about is entry speed, braking points, grip levels, and the rush of full throttle exits...at that moment, you and the car are one, and the feeling is incredible. that is what skylines are about and thats why i will always love them and come back to them when i stray and try something else.. greatest driver cars ever made.. and every review says so.. they are built for drivers to drive. cheers Linton -
what about the toolish statement that even though the gtho did a lap time around the area of their reasonably priced car... it still goes to the top... typical bogan pride. makes me disrespect the show and the car even more.. i wouldnt mind seeing a dogfight between the gtho and a hakosuka. 190kw S20 vs 224kw 351 sure the 351 has 515nm... but it weighs 1524kg and is a boat, the GTR weighs just 1120. and has a much better stance, and downright looks cranky... the gtho doesnt look special at all. typical bogans... why couldnt the big guy leave michael jackson here and remove the bogans

im just flicking through the particular issue of Speed, Dec-Jan 03, issue 004 (yes im weird, i keep all magazines that i buy)... now im not saying anything... and i believe baron more than most.. but in the article... Top Secret is mentioned alot. and the top speed run, and top secrets powerhouse tuning potential. it claims to have hks pistons, rods, rings and cams, and a top secret modified crank... now the most suprising thing, is in one of the pics of the rear... it shows, in plain view... a magnaflow muffler.. now what sort of top japanese tuning company, uses a magnaflow muffler, in the myriad of hks and trust pieces... if it was put on for compliance, than thats just plain ghey and should have been replaced with something a bit more 'trust' like power is claimed at 440kw.
-
maybe next time... you put on a bear suit... or the head at least.... run out, flog him, leave the car where it ended up, and leave him where he ended up... cable tie his wrist to the car.... call the cops, go back to bed.. then when they knock on your door... act all sleepy and suprised. they never ever know it was you.

i will be buying a ps3 purely for gt5... whether its good or not. i havent seen any demos, any pics, havent played the prologue, but i cant wait!

Why Are R34 Gt-r Still So Expensive
NZM.031 replied to rehab2010's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
a guy at work and i were talking about this the other day... what car could you buy now for 10-15g... that in 30 years time will be worth a heap like the gtho falcons. ae86's, a few years ago, could be imported and your driveway for $3000. you could pick up a 240z for under $5000 r31 coupes for $5000 these have all hit rock bottom... and have been snapped up, crashed, molested, and shagged in general.. which is now forcing the price up as they become rarer and harder to find in good nick.. ive seen a few 240z's go for over $25000 a few days ago.. and ive seen some ae86's for over $15000. the r34 gtr i dont think will ever drop below $40000, r32s have started to rise, and r33s will when the r32s become more expensive.. they dont make the gtr like that anymore so they are a limited run.. the more idiots that get a hold of them and crash them or molest them with stupid bodykits and paint will only force the price higher and higher.. noone will want to buy something that has been touched so those cars will be sold cheap and crashed by some young hoon no doubt. -

The Best Looking R33 I 've Seen
NZM.031 replied to R34_luvr's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
cant say i like it... remove the bodykit, wheels, and most of all the interior... and youd have a decent r33. if you're new to skylines then here's the thing, have a look around this site, especially at the motorsport thread.. check out mark and russ's r34 and their r32, and merli's r32 build, you can check out fatz gtr thread, but being 17... it may scare you... heck, it scares me.... also check out My Restoration by Godzilla32... these guys, like many on here, represent what skylines are about better than anyone.. the highs, the lows, and the comradery of owning a skyline, and setting them up to do what they do best. you'll soon find (as you have in this thread already) that many people on here think skylines are degraded by dodgy interiors, bodykits and crappy wheels... if you wana do that crap... get a supra... skylines are meant to be built and driven... stone chips and all... if it aint broke or it has no purpose or function, dont touch it. cheers and good luck Linton -
im glad im simple... simple things amuse simple people.. i can find something fun to do anywhere.. just gotta look. a friend of mine, Dean Tyler (otherwise known as Soquete) instructs a capoeira class in manly, Sinha Bahia de Capoeira... its at mona vale. check out www.capoeira.cc if your interested... if not, stop being a spoil sport and get out and find something to do.. theres also a little cafe in avalon thats got a couple of drifters there... usually see a tidy ae86 and looks like an older bluebird.. might be able to strike up something to do with them. its across the road from subway in the main st

Big "SELECTA!!! " to you.. id love to catch someone doing that.. oh the things you could do before calling the cops.. not necessarily violence... just mess with his head... freak him out a bit... or alot. a close friend of mine got assaulted by her "boyfriend".. its a shame she was in qld at the time... the delightful things that were going through my head.. had he been in newcastle... he'd be a messed up man by now. she wont tell me his address either. but anyway... good on you for giving it back, will make him think twice next time.. but be careful as he now knows where you live, he may come back with 5 of his mates off their heads on ice... its all good and well to do what you did... but hopefully he doesnt come back. cheers Linton

looking cranky!!! nothing wrong with brandwhoring either. i would if i could.

i never said i liked my engine.

ive had both experience with Sato and Paul Thomas from hunter thomas... both super nice guys, both very capable of performing road tunes with great results... id have no quarms about taking any of my cars to either of them. Paul Thomas can do dyno tunes, he dislikes all the dynos in newcastle so he takes the car to sydney (doesnt cost extra) and uses a friend of his down there... racepace or something like that. he has done that to a few people i know and have great results.. he is very methodical and extracts the most from your mods without going over board. having said that... whats wrong with road tunes.... i drive all my cars on the road, never on a dyno, so why do i want a dyno tune?? i will happily put my recomendation to either of these guys. cheers Linton

i love all engines, aslong as they are powered by petrol, 2.0L or greater but not greater than 3.0L, and have 6 cylinders in a straight line. disrespect to all other pointless, time wasting, boat anchors.
-
the baron is right... use someone elses properly set up car, and someone who knows how to drive it... they can teach you its behaviours and driving requirements which you can then take to your car... whereas you might think you need more power... you might find out that you actually need more entry speed or some simple suspension tweaks.. i did a rally day... it was expensive, but a load of fun and something ill never forget.. the lessons learnt there have helped me with getting the most out of all my cars. which part of country nsw are you from??

thats a bit shit then.
