  1. If anyone was doing anything wrongn going to and from WSID or wherever else, then they must cop it sweet. that is probably the only part of the police blitz that I cannot and will not be against. This is a given no matter where you are on public roads. How many of these cars were done for illegal street racing? None. It was a blatant crackdown that was designed to make the police appear to be doing something proactive in the eyes of the public, where in effect, all they were doing was making those who were supporting legal off-street racing think twice about attending future WSID events for fear of being defected or worse. I don't agree with the undercover police being at WSID unless they have a serious motive/suspicion of illegal activity. If the purpose of this blitz was to target potential street racers, then they should be out at the many well known street racing spots with the aim of pushing these racers into going to WSID. Instead they are doing the opposite.
  2. I agree with both Duncan and Trust33. Instead of advertising the fact that there is a legal place to drag race, what do the police do? Crackdown on those cars that are attending the sole place that will get the street racers off public roads. It's absolutely ridiculous. But then again, they are just implementing their typical knee-jerk reaction in order for the public to believe that they are actually doing something positive. The only positive thing here is that many of those who are supporting the legal form or drag racing won't be returning. Guess where they will be? The police should have been at the many well known illegal street racing spots that are all over Sydney. They know where they are, but that would mean that they actually did something right for once. Idiots. Oh, and why the hell would they have undercover officers inside WSID? Again, that will do nothing but facilitate the widing of the gap between police and driver relations. Clowns.
  3. Thanks for the birthday wishes I had a good night amongst a great bunch of people I might have a decent drink next time Happy birthday Adam and Wayne. :PBJ: :sorcerer: And thanks to those who piked on Abo Now...where are the pics and videos?
  4. The same people who can do the weld-in cages can do the bolt-in's. Bolt-in cages aren't very popular as most people normally end up with weld-in's as they go faster. If you plan on doing more than one meeting in the 10's, then get the bolt-in. If you just want to run a 10 once, then don't bother. But I'm guessing you will catch the bug and want to do it often. And if you want to race at Jambo and will be consistently in the 10's then you will need to be teched for 10.00+. If qld doesnt allow bolt-in's, then why not just keep it NSW registered and engineered?
  5. Craig, what area are you coming from?
  6. In NSW, you will need an engineer's certificate to certify that it meets the ADR's; this involves fitting child anchorage point(s); side intrusion bars in the doors; non-convex mirrors; 'unleaded fuel only' sticker on fuel flap; and retractable rear seatbelts. Some engineers don't bother with the mirrors or fuel sticker...just depends on who you go to. There might be some other minor things, but the above is what I had to do for mine. Note, that this is separate from any non-standard modifications which will also need to be certified in order too get a roadworthy (blueslip). Once you have the engineers certificate, get the car blue slipped, and get a greenslip for it. Take the engineers certificate, the green slip, blue slip and the car's receipt/proof of purchase as well as the import approval to the RTA and get the car registered. Then, enjoy!
  7. That is at the old Eastern Creek Raceway dragstrip and is the Tony Rigoli Peformance 4wd Accent with 4G63 driveline.
  8. What ratio?
  9. If only that was a twin 75mm exhaust system...
  10. Is this the same block that you had for sale a couple of months ago? Any chance of some pics?
  11. I'm sure we can find somewhere for him to sit.... Steve??
  12. The Japanese stuff in kit form is unbeatable for pecision, completeness, quality, fitment etc etc. I have seen many bolt-on kits such as a Trust/GReddy intercooler kit that was a perfect fit kit with every nut, bolt, clamp, custom bracket, spacers, etc. Pity these facets don't apply here It is an easy fix though.
  13. ...especially with front LSD and 400+kw
  14. I just checked mine - the pulley only fits one way. I will replace the front washer with a thinner one and fit one behind the pulley to align it properly.
  15. I think so too...A spacer will fix the problem. Mine is only a 2 or 3mm out.
  16. I agree...just ask TO4GTR about his "miss". Changed engine and miss was still there. Ended up being a blocked injector. I have a similar problem with my engine/turbos....blue smoke on overrun. Check turbo seals and then stem seals. Both are better than a piston ring issue.
  17. I have this same problem. But mine is on an R32. p/s pump pulley sits a few mm too far in and hence the belt comes off and eventually snaps/shreds. I will be fitting a spacer to rectify the problem; or the pulley could be on the wrong way around...will get to inspect mine later and see if this is true.
  18. Yes, I'm in +1, although I don't usually celebrate my birthday. I wonder who is older though?
  19. 6th August here too.... LOL Should be a good night.
  20. I'm with stup...erm Shaun.
  21. what happened at the last BEL dyno night? Run from the "Hills"...
  22. true street tyres or drag radials, 1.39 is better than any radial-tyred car that I am aware of, and a few slicked GTR's too
