  1. consider a part trade with some adjustable caster rods
  2. if its all checked and balanced properly they should handle around 350rwkw i think, the only thing that will cause problems is the rods, if you will spend a extr 1500 get new forged rods then it should handle over 400 easily. The rpm limit is determined by the head, components like lifters, valve springs will need to be changed, std 8k should be doable with a built motor
  3. Steve what was the initial power with no extra tuning? Did the cooler pipe and exh make a difference. The turbo looks the goods, does it still have some effiecincy left with any extra boost, could it make 350 with 1.8 bar or so.
  4. B-Man do you know the specs of the turbo and its rated power from HKS? What engine internals have you had done?
  5. the front crossmember would need to be changed and it mounts up differently to the gts, also you would need to belt a large dent in the floor pan for the transfew case to clear. it would be possible but fot the cost of 89 gtrs, its not worth the hassle. Get the chassis sorted and use the better handling and lighter weight to your advanage, just need good tyres
  6. I have two sets of adjustable caster rods i need to sell to fund some mods. They have large good quality rosejoints, the main shaft is alloy and they come with all bolts that make them a simple 5 min job to fit on a hoist. Will fit r32-33 gts, s13, and i can supply parts to fit gtr's for a little extra. $240 in postage and a donation to SAU email [email protected]

  9. I can highly recommend Trev, i ordered a set of pistons from him and he was very helpfull and they arrived when he said they would and he kept me informed all the way, top quality product for a very nice price.
  10. chris yes they will fit in no probs, and the plugs are even the same. Should work well, and not cause any probs with overfuelling at idel, the 550s can cause a little trouble with a stock rb20 and computer but any aftermarket management should handle the 550s fine, but they do however reqire the plugs to be changed, so get the gtr ones if you can find a nice set.
  11. Hey Jay, my car is currently off the road for a few months while the eng and new turbo are being fitted, so i can send you mine to have a look at, if you decide to make them you will just need to do me a good deal, if not you can just send them back. Let me know if your intereted, only prob is the car is at the painters and i will not have it back for about 2 weeks
  12. the GT Autosound car ran a 11.4 i think at 142mph, and it still wosnt getting into 2nd perfectly, should run easy 10s once sorted, a wicked car and not a bad effort for its debut.
  13. yeah its a pretty simple procedure if you can get the alloy in a clean molten state. If would be particually helpfull to make inlet a nice inet manifold or some cooler end tanks where the strength is not important rather the shape required.
  14. yeah you need adjustable caster rods, pm me if you wont some as i can help
  15. Joel, RB25 crank and rods are fairly cheap and easy to come buy, i sold my set for $250 as i got a rb26 crank and some prepped rods to use. there are also a few places you can get custom forgies for not much more than the off the shelf ones, so basically the cost to build the engine comes out pretty similar, it just depends on what you wont to do.
  16. sydneykid would you know the approx displacement of a rb25 with gtr crank and 40tho oversize gtr pistons, cheers Clint
  17. option D, look around and buy a stuffed rb25 with cracked pistons, without turbo you can score for between 800-1000, then get it built properly for about 4.5k, which it will cost to do the rb24 anyway.
  18. Matt i will need to have a look to work out what will be needed first
  19. here you go Steve, im sure Matt wont mind us taking over his thread
  20. In in the urgent need of a rb25det harmonic balancer, if anyone can help email [email protected] thanks
  21. flywheel sold. Need a rb25det harmonic balancer if anyine has one
  22. sorry what you need is the 5 stud hub and mount from a s14/s15, the wasy you plan on doing it wil reqire major mods to the car
  23. so unless you cut a large hole in the front of it, a rb26 cover will not fit on a rb25 with the vvt
  24. they would deffinately have a bennefit on the strip, what tyres do you plan on running? As with any slick or cut slick the car, even a GTR nearly pick up the front wheels from the ground (i remember see a pic of keir wilson after they used the Mickey ET streets and it looked like a rwd car on the launch), this may cause problems with oil pickup. Do get someone who knows what they are doing and has a lot of experience in the area, they are very good when setup properly but i would say can be done wrong easily.
