R32 Gtr Dual To Single Filter Conversion?
Thelen replied to Thelen's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yea not really opposite to me, but you are having the split one further step towards the engine. Anyhoo I'll just source a stock airbox and panel, will make el-polico happier in either case. -
I'll check but definitely feels like 4WD. I just assumed it would have broken, and probably fair assumption

R32 Gtr Dual To Single Filter Conversion?
Thelen replied to Thelen's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yea wasn't quite a do-it-on-the-cheap thing, just wondered why no one ever bothered to do it when it is kindof an obvious thing I figured getting the small Y piece would cost only 1 filter worth, so it'd pay off after a year or two. Of course if you have to fab it, costs more but figured it would be a kit I realise stock + panel is the way to go, I'll hunt around for a stock airbox when I have time -
My R32 GTR pressure gauge doesn't seem to work at all, along with the front wheel torque thing, I am assuming just because of age however something else might be broken. What is the best way to proceed with getting it diagnosed, then finding a replacement etc? I don't really care about having a bunch of clusters, so just something in the stock position would be fine.

R32 Gtr Dual To Single Filter Conversion?

Stock setup. I realise you need the 2 AFM however I intend to have the split *before* the AFMs. IE: (turbo -> pipe -> afm -> connector -> filter) x2 instead: (turbo -> pipe -> afm) x2 -> connector -> filter -

I'll take the powerFC and blitz EBC for $900 if/when you part it out. -
So just wondering why everyone lashes out for 2 pods when they could just use one? I have tried looking around for kits/converters, but must not be using the right lanuage. Anyway, currently have stock AFM, will upgrade to Z32 at some point down the track. I am assuming it is really just as easy as a y pipe of some sort?

What do you mean, 'like'? He is one of the most annoying people I've ever seen. -
Thanks Psymon.

Unless you really are an audiophile you can easily do it for half the $1k. Just get a pair of good 6x9s and you will have as good bass as you would until you spend $600 on amp+sub.

Mmmm I'd take it but I'm in Melbourne What would you sell the rims for?

Improving the exhaust is probably the most cost effective. Make sure you get a proper turbo to cat dump. After that get a proper intercooler, cos as good as the standard one is if you want reliability and power at lower boost this is a must.

Yea when I read this (was searching for what to look for, buying a R32 GTR next week I hope ) got me a little depressed that not only do I have to worry about buying a lemon or having to do a rebuild, but now have to worry about asshats stealing it to?!?! I thought of the chaining to a poll as well, unfortunately it will probably give even more credence to someone trying to steal it I think some sort of timelapse is probably the only thing that will provide enough details, certainly if you then get their faces or any other details. I'm pretty confident you wouldn't have to worry about a blanket going on the car while it is on the towtruck, at least until they catch on and start doing that as well Ultimately, I think setting up some sort of mega loud "THIS CAR IS BEING STOLEN" alarm that will go off if/when you don't push a button every day or something. Should be plenty of places to hide it, then just stick the battery in a door or something they'll never think to check.

Motec M4 (+Ish Loom, Map Possibly)
Thelen replied to Thelen's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Also have Exedy heavy duty cushioned button clutch and factory reconditioned (manual 5psd) gearbox, both 3kkm old and perfect condition. Probs $700 and $300. Oh crap, forgot to add, the clutch (well really probably both above items), would also come with a custom ultralightweight flywheel. this baby is so light african swallows are seen trying to steal and fly away with it! (along with coconuts >_>) -
Motec M4 (+Ish Loom, Map Possibly)

I don't know what it has on it, but it is tuned for a 4cylinder B20A6 Prelude 3g. I didn't put it in or do the tune, so it could be some fancy whoopdydo version, but all I can see is M4 on the side @Jamie72, ugh, needed extra words in there "AFAIK only $100 difference between them". Anyway, would probably want $800+ for that, they go for $1500 new. It would include the intercooler and all the piping too probably. -

Also have 3g prelude gearbox, full interior (very good condition), and heavy duty button clutch from exedy, 5kkm old. -
Tearing down my Prelude for next project, have a few things to sell. MoTeC M4, been in the car for about 10kkm, since the engine rebuild 25kkm ago. No problems that I can tell, looks brand new. Pics as standard, hasn't been opened or fiddled with. It has a loom, somewhat, the guy who wired it seems to have made a mess, but you are welcome to any/all wiring.... >_> Same goes for the MAP. I don't know what it is, but probably worth $100? As for the M4, there is an auction on ebay at the moment first bids are 1k, risen to 1100 with 2 days to go and 3 interested parties, so I would expect it will go for 1200-1500. I really just want what is fair, 1k is my minimum though. If you want the loom+MAP, probably just add $200 to the price. I'd take $1500 today for the lot having said that. Lol I know lots of options >_> Also have a cheapo Viper alarm, some heavy grade speaker cabling (for the sub in the boot, welcome to the capacitor as well, and as well the fuse), probably $500 for the lot, $100-200 for each comma separated bunch. Ultimately I'm happy if you are happy, and shipping can be whatever you want although I'd prefer cash pickup for the M4 just so neither person gets/feels scammed. Pics can be arranged, paypal, bank deposit, cash, bankcheque, 2nd child all options. Mobile 0433526436, location Greensborough VIC, available pretty much 24/7 for talk/purchase. Extra items that I may be willing to sell, so if you are interested let me know and I will include them: Custom 3g prelude bodykit (includes frontbar, sideskirts and rear, and spoiler/wing) Xforce turbo back (think its 4.5", but w/e) Garrett GT2860RS disco potato, 10kkm old no smoke or shaft play. Might be just the R model I can't get behind to read properly, but same difference AFAIK only $100.

One thing people never properly consider, GET A RETURN FLOW AFTERMARKET INTERCOOLER!! IF you are going aftermarket (ie not just bunging in a r34 smic or whatever), you can avoid a lot of headaches with piping, not to mention the legal aspects, by just getting a return flow! They are within $50 of the same price, much easier to install (its like 3 joins instead of 6), and will also give less turbo lag too!
