THey will get a good crowd at least, unlike CHina, the sphincter of the universe etc etc. I dont get Korea, even though they have planty of car manufacturers, it will be interesting to see if anyone turns up

Come on Ash, still pretty cool to see the GTR hook up and disappear!

Trust Td06l2-208 With 8cm Housing
Roy replied to Roy's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
OK, am now back in Australia and as per above have : - TD06SL2-20G with 8 cm housing pictured above - Used Greddy RB20/25 SS tubular manifold - Used Greddy Type R Wastgeate with 8psi spring - Supply oil line and return line. Both braided PTFE with the return line covered in high temp silicon sheathing ($80 alone for sheathing) - Turbo to cat "3 Dump Pipe (mild steel) May or may not still be fibreglass wrapped - 3" Straight thru pipe in 3" cat (track only) - Turbo to inner guard cooler pipe Need it gone and only asking 2k if you are in Melb. If you require delivery interstate then may be able to help out with delivery -
:( I think that was about the best option if you could pony up the cash. They will last take a punding year after year. Good to hear you like the PFC01 pads too. They are about to release the compund i have been waiting for in a Porsche pad so finally going to get to try them....cant wait

Also, in those pics the piston diameters are staggered incorrectly for a Skyline meaning you would probably get tapered pad wear
-
Hey oh handsome one.....fix up the pic of the Panasports. Looking for a set, even better if you can throw them on a car with a brake setup and give me an idea of internal wheel clearance. Better/worse then the Weds uncle Dunan hooked you up with etc etc

Upgrading R32 Gtr Rear Brakes (non-brembo)
Roy replied to Kaido_RR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
You need to understand what you are looking at to understand what you are looking at. Running a 26mm and 28mm piston means that the caliper is no bigger then the std nisson sumitomo 2 pot! So its "Such a large caliper on the rear". It has nothing to do with th enumber of pistons the caliper has. Its about their total surface area. Do the math and compare the surface area of two pistons at 26mm and 28mm vs the std BIG 2 piston rear which has a 38.18mm piston. All it does is allow you to run a bigger rotor and rear pad with a larger surface area. Which if you see my reply in Motorsport I dont think is a wise choice when your front kit is basically jsut a larger heat sink, not a big kit that increases front braking torque. Also, those rear calipers are mass produced OE rear calipers, and the pads do use the same part numbers as F40/50 fronts. So that means you have a pad with a surface area of 62.1 c㎡. Your front APs use a pad with a surface area of 57.4c㎡. So what that tells me with more pad area in the rear, same diam rotor in the rear, albeit thinner then the front rotor, you will have all sorts of trouble getting temperature into the rear brakes. When they do finally come up to temp they will probably change the balance of the car under braking unless you really dumb down the pad in the rear and run basically an OE Bendix pad or something in the rear. So, I think its money not best used. If you are going to go with a 355mm + front upgrade with a 6 pot or 8pot front Brembo then this 4 pot caliper in the rear starts to make a little more sense -
First question you have to ask yourself is what do you hope to achieve by upgrading the rears. The only reason you would normally do this is if you are cooking your front and or rear brakes and you have gone for a front upgrade that uses larger piston area with a larger rotor up front giving you way more front bias. But you do this to try and get the thermal capacity up front not to cook brakes. So then you go and throw a bigger rotor up the rear with a caliper with suitable piston sizing Also, this is the old setup off your R33? Did it work well on that? Because i suspect your AP front kit will work best with std rear sumitomo brakes. Do yourself a favour and stick with the std rear brakes. If your rotors are shagged then maybe replace them and throw some new pads in there....otherwise just leave them std A) Will save you a packed of money. B) The car will 95% likely stop better with std brakes. The AP brake setup you have runs smaller front pistons then the GTR 4 pot Brembos, meaning that effectively what AP do is increase braking torque by running a larger rotor, 330mm vs 296mm but in order not to make the car overly front biased they reduce the piston size. So with smaller pistons in your 4 pot caliper then even an R33 GTR Brembo caliper, it is my guess you are running less front brake bias then if you had R33 GTR calipers with 324mm rotor. Uou are basically not increasing front torqe by a significant amount, just increasing thermal capacity Now those 4 pots have the same piston area as the std R32 GTR Sumitomo caliper. So with the same pistons sizes, you are not doing anything with regards to increasing brake torque with the caliper, but you are with the far larger rotor. SO you will probably end up with a tail happy car under brakes. And you are riskign this and spending uber cash for what purpose? Unless you are boiling the fluid in the rear brakes, pads are getting too hot and going off etc etc then there is no need to upgrade the rears, The AP 4 pot front kit is best used with std rears in my opinion

Logistics of running a GP tells me it would simply get cancelled. Slight chance that they could run a GP in Japan at Fuji if there are no schedule conflicts, as the team are already in Suzuka for the previous GP and logistically would be easier to get to Brazil from Japan then Korea....but odds on Korea will be on. As if Bermie is going to say something in public if he does not already know EXACTLY what is transpiring

I was driving on the RS-R tyre the other day and I cant believe how grippy they are and how well they hung in there after 10minutes of understeering-over driving and our braking myself, ie they would have been way hot! Shame I cant update the lap times in the Motorsport section, only Admin people can go back and update now

Bump, because it seems the guy I was holding them for whilst turning away other people is no longer interested?!?!? If you are can you reply to PMs?

Well both Ferrari and RBR were saying they wanted to pit ASAP as the harder tyres were now qucker then their well used softs, problem was the McLarens were 2-4 seconds a lap slower and after pitting they woudl have been behind the far slower Mclarens. So as soon as the Macs pitted that gave them a window of free track. They both wanted to put asap as if they pitted after the other then the guy got pitted first on his out lap woudl have been far quicker on the new hard tyres so the guy staying out was only ever going to lose ground. Seems to make sense, shame they didnt have the 30sec to the Macs that they needed as it would have been interesting to see if RBR had more race pace then Fezz

Are you using the RD28 block with RB20 crank with the chev rods and VG30 pistons? Sounds AWESOME!
-
Kubica did a great job...bit i was equally impressed with how Webber got on with it and was overtaking cars on the quicker tyres. I was impressed hpw he cut some nice moves on Glock, Kobayashi & Schuey
-
I would love to see Vettel have a go. I get the feeling that if he gets side to side with Alonso, then Alonso will give it up not to hurt his championship in light of Hamo out and him still taking more points then Webber
-
Surely they are not going to give Webber a penalty???? Come on stewards, dont fark our boy over!
-
Well ... i dont know. Stupid Virgin car not giving the spot away by getting out of it...bacjed up Webber....Hamo had to have a go but Webber had to try and live with him under brakes...racing incident
-
Going to be interesting race to the flag. Vettel and Alonso, with Seb in the quicker car....and Webz v Hamilton....where even with older tyres you would think Webber will have a small pace advantage
-
So what are the odds of Hamo getting it wrong on Webber?
