  1. Well there is always the option of crating it to NZ and getting RIPZ to do it. At $400 for a crate and shipping and NZ$1.20 it could be an option. For something like an engine i think you have to really go wherever you are comfortable, if that means interstate then so be it. I suppose the problem is plenty of places will build you a tough RB30 for a rwd car, but the problems start when you go GTR
  2. oops. Where did i leave that brown paper bag?
  3. Harry, i hear you. BUT, i cant fully agree. Webber tried to do the job cleanly, beautiful move on Alonso first time around, likewise Hamo, and Heidfeld. It was only when they kept coming back at him that he started to rush the job so not to get held up. It wasnt pretty but he wasnt putting his car in a position where he was going to get punted, it meant there was a door open for a repass but Webz was slamming the door shut. Mind you i was there so have only seen it all once and may have it wrong from the excitement of the moment. Sepang is an awesome track to spectate. I could see turn 8 through to the final corner! Almost 1/3 of the track!
  4. Yeh, two loud silver R32s, i cant wait! Your car popped up just as i parked mine to save cash for touch up work. I dont know how wise my change to titanium exhaust etc has been, may have to stick with PIARC no noise days ?
  5. I would be worried if it pulled 240rwkws with the std turbos on the same dyno. If it was on a different dyno then fair enough. LOL i was gutted when my lil RB20 only made 222rwkw after a turbo and ecu upgrade, bigger numbers always make you feel better
  6. Ah, something about the grass being a different colour over other side of the fence...you needed to have driven my car when James and Juz drove it with the Bilsteins and old suspension. You often joke but i dont think you realised just how hard my car used to be to drive. I can promise you that the vids of me driving it required me to be smooth and delicate with inputs, it may not look like it but i was. Well , i was driving it smoothly to the best of my ability. Just ask Juz how much she enjoyed drivng it with the Bilsteins? It was so much better with the new suspension, and should be a lot better now i have most of the bushes etc replaced so no more slop. You can see in the above vid, half the reason it looked all over the place is the fact that it used to pitch all over the place on its soft suspension at high speeds so slight throttle adjustment gave it pretty bad lift off oversteer. Anyway, you are winding me up....which is not a nice thing to do to a guy that is itching to get his car back on the track.

  8. I was watching the Kangaroo TV thing and just before Glock got him they had him 2nd for about 1.5 laps
  9. Thats why i couldnt enjoy a GTR, it all looks easier then it is, and there is way too little drama . I would rather pilot my thing....keeps you so much busier
  10. meh to cold, wet and miserable. I like Melbourne weather...except for when its cold, wet and miserable But, weather isnt a concern, i did more wet days in NSW then i have done in Vic
  11. Awesome Andrew...any vids to follow?
  12. Fark, so all the rwd crew had tough days? Sorry to read. Oh well, the tracks arent going anywhere and there is always next time. I should be making a return around late June/July and catn wait to get back out there any play with a bunch of rwd cars Wish Sandown was a week later as i will be back in Melb at the start of next month for a few days R&R, but i dont think the car will be all back together until June by the time the body, paint, engine and suspension is all back together What was with Scotsman's times? Hope no dramas there...and also cool to see Firman in the 180B beating WRXs
  13. I am not sure about EC being an outright hp track?!?! Yeh, sure the hp works better there, but the straight is pretty short and there are no real other blasts other then out of turn 9. The rest is flowing, albeit pretty high speed so a bit of power is going to help. But i dont think EC will give dramatically different results to OP. LOL a place like Sandown or Calder would, as i give away 3 seconds to a car i am quicker then through the corners on the two straights....it is frustrating
  14. Yeh, i was spewing that he dropped the positions, but he did well keeping Glock behind and eventually doing Alonso then catching Kimi before the stops. Come on Ben, he drove a storming race today and along with Button and Glock clearly the pics of the day. The Brawn cars are a joke. They were playing with the field. Button was cruising and not even trying to get past. He knew with his fuel load he jsut had to wait, and the fact that the second he got the clear track he cleared out....the cars are just too good! The Toyotas had a great weekend, to think if the diffusers get banned then RBR are looking good as they are about the quickest of the non uber diffuser cars Anyway, roll on the next GP. Its awesome having both RBRs competitive, just needing a bit of the luck that seems to finds its way to Quick Nick's doorstep every few races
  15. Just flying out of KL now. Awesome race and awesome being there cheeringy on Webz who drove like a champion
  16. Fark Bernie! I am flying out of KL at 10.25pm. So just realised the Malaysian GP kicks off at 5pm So whats that, a 7pm finish...then i have to get a cab to the airport, check in???? Fark its going to be tight. Fark Bernie and his twilight races Oh well, off now...will enjoy the maiden win of RBR and Webber, he goes ok in Malaysia so here is hoping that the Brawns blow up ... its probably what it will take
  17. After Corporate Hill (Turn 8) leading up to turn 9 which is the tight right hander. It was pissing down rain and EC doesnt drain all that well in prolonged heavy rain. It was a pretty quiet ARDC day so when it rained there werent any cars to help disperse the standing water. So after a scare at turn 1 and 7 i backed completely off as it was just too scary for me. Coming out of turn 8 i was cruising playing with the aircon trying to get the window to demist when i hit standing water which made the car aquaplane a little, thing is it made the car move about 2mtrs accross the track touched grass so was a passenger from there onwards. Stupid day dreaming at its best. When its wet, drive down the middle of the road to give yourself a buffer when it aquaplanes. I never thought i was going to hit anything, but the thing kept sliding and sliding on the grass. So one of those things, will never let it happen again to me...but after the catches over the preceeding corners i wasnt expecting a similar problem at way lower speeds....i blamed the semis at the time but have driven in the rain a bt since and i cant blame tires.
  18. I wasnt beign really serious.... But i do expect that my car will stay well away from tyres for a good many years In 9 years of ownership I have unfortunately tasted tyres 3 times. Calder, EC and Sandown. I count myself as very unlucky at EC, unlucky at Sandown and Calder was 100% my fault. So my direct stooopidity was only that one occassion at Calder drift day. I sure as shit dont want it to happen, but it can happen when you are having a go and something breaks or lets go on the car. I could have written my car off at PI a few years ago, was screaming up to Honda and my top radiator hose split meaning that I spewed coolant out the front of the car and I literally had no front brakes, it was like I was on ice. I spun a few times, around and around and thankfully got back on the run off road where I was able to stop the car. At the time I thought I had massive brake failure as the car just didnt slow down anything like you would expect. Back in the pits I soon saw what the problem had been. Thankfully there was not much fluid down on the track, so no harm to any other drivers for the next session. The day will come when i get to a corner 10 seconds after somebody has put coolant or oil down and i am at speed Hope not but can happen. I wasnt expecting to spin on my own gearbox fluid at Sandown
  19. Would be great to see the R31 out there! LOL, would be the battle of whose RB20 is loudest
  20. I see them and the contour has me scratchin gmy head, front or rear ? Yes i am that silly
  21. If only I had of installed a ViPec in the diesel TATA I was driving on Sunday, I may have been in with a chance in Open class! They are that GOOD! LOL, i need to find a product i can rebadge and sell, i wonder if Porsche will let me sell GT2s as Brizasaruses , a cool name for a sports car if ever there was Then some viral advertising and i would be set
  22. Gee Fatz, that is so sensible of you , almost like you are somebody else Late night relations with workshop owners again?
  23. LOL, nah man. I still drive my car a lot on the street and if it looks rough then i am more likely to get pulled over and dicked. So keep it tidy and shoudl have less porblems. Plus, i will never sell it so best keep it neat, so then when it tastes armco chasing the 1:48 i can rebuild it stronger and better
  24. Man, i think my car with the Bislteins would have done a 1:50 if i didnt use 4th gear at turn 1 and i got the line onto the straight properly then there might be a bit of time in it. Its possible?!?!?!! I did a 1:52 flat and because the EPA guy hung around all day i only got a few laps to try So On the first lap the tyres were still not quite warm, was rough and ready with a few errors and it was a 1:52.00 flat. So close to a 51 Looking at the corner speeds and data for the second lap i was quicker through turn 1 and turn 2 & 3. I lost time on Southern Loop. I also messed up MG but got onto the straight way faster then i had on any other lap on the day. So the second lap in the vid had some good bits but i ham fisted MG but the lap was still a 1:53.1 or 1:53.4 so ?!?!?! Its definitely doable. LOL, i hate that somebody else in the club, (Ryan or Matt) will be the first into the 49s before me LOL, i am no longer willing to bin it trying...paint costs way too much money. But seriously if i am delusional in thinking there is a 1:50 in the car in the vid then i want to be set straight...i dont want false expectations for myself and the car.
  25. Didnt realise that Bright had changed the colour scheme after the last little hiccup, any pics floating around of it?
