Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
Roy replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
So, the RB20 folk that are running the Plazmaman or any other aftermarket plenums. Do you run std throttle bodies or have you gone for larger aftermarket or Q45 jobbies? I am kind of keen to have a play with all this now, cant wait, new 6boost exhaust manifold, larger housing to try on the 20G, TD06-25G, Plazmaman, titanium exhaust, ARC cooler and some cams. Just have to work out the order of install to gauge the performance change with each mod without it costing me the earth in tuning and labour Curiosity never killed the cat...but it sure has farked the bank account. I have now crossed that stooopid line where when you add up the cost of all the add ons i could have spent way too much trying to optimise the performance from the lil 20 -
LOL, really? I have done driver training plenty of times and i always learn something from people teaching me. Its like a golf coach, we all know how we should be swinging the club, but the faults are only obvious to those watching. I will also add i have been in the passenger seat a lot doing Driver Training and i can honestly say, whilst i am no pro instructor, i feel i have been able to help every person. What is scary is the number of people that have no clue how to brake and get back through the gears and get into a corner.

I think its more a quesiton of Nissan justifying their price. Is it still correct that Nissan are losing money on the GTR, and are relying on tech transfer to other models to make sense of the whole situation? If so then Nissan/Renault need to justify their price to the company's owners. Its no coincidence that Honda have already pulled the pin on the NSX replacement due to cost and numbers expecting to be sold not making the model viable for them. But Nissan have done an amazing job, mostly because i think the avergae keen punter could go closer to matching the factory lap times claim in the GTR then any of the owners of the GT2, ZR1 etc etc. Its a very driavable supercar

bnr#@, so polite of you not to jump the line So gtrrr, talk to me, what state are you in. Front and rear or just front?
-
Yeh, Techsport used to do all the wheel alignments for Ben. Honestly, in that one area with Racepace and Techsport and Trackside tyres you have all you need for your track car Of course you have Nizpro around the corner so..same thing
-
Hats off to Nissan, shame they couldnt make the thing look as good as the cars its quicker then
-
So Vettel has now out quaoified Webber 3-0, if you include fuel its probably 2-1. Old Rubens fuelled heavier but with a better lap looks good for the win if he can get off the line and capitalise on all the mess that will result from Webber going backwards off the line Come on Webber, would so love to see him get a win
-
...and? First thoughts?
-
Updates?
-
He wasnt running KERS, they removed it, i bet looking at how Nick went he didnt change his mond mid weekend
-
I liked how in the conference Webber said its good to have Vettel, or the "young guy" pushing him this season. What is the bet Alonso will be a huge pain in the ass for the RBR guys, and i am guessing is the lightest based on his practice and Q2 pace. SO if Mark cant clear him then he will instantly be back around 5th or 6th as i think the RBR cars are lighter then the Brawns as well and will be jumped in pit stops. LOL, i dont even need to watch the race, i know what going to happen already:) But, i would not be surprised if Vettel picks up his second GP win tomorrow with Webz on for a 4th, maybe a podium
-
So happy for Vettel, Webz 3rd! Hats off to Vettel, lets just hope when we look at fuel that Vettel is lighter otherwise Webz is in a quickm car but that wont help him beat his team mate
-
Q2 Vettel 1 and Webber 2, seperated by .040seconds. How good is this for RBR! 1.35:130 vs 1.35:170
-
Webz 3rd quickest behind the Brawn cars in Q1...COME ONE WEBZ!
-
Nice car, what would you be willing to take if you kept the shocks, spare bodyparts and wheels?
-
Its good for my back & wrist so good enough for my strut brace. LOL been looking around for a daily driver so that i can go the whole hog with the R32 and i keep looking for an R32 exactly like yours...so, sell me your car
-
Webber & Vetz with driveshaft failure hope that means the gearboxes are ok....argh!
-
Depends where you qualify. If you havea quick car and stuck in traffic then you are losing tenths of not seconds each lap. Throw a light fuel load in, soft tyres and have a go at getting on the front two rows and getting a stormer of a start and try to do a bit of a dash. If you pit 7 laps into the race you are going to come out at the tail of the field with no traffic to hold you up meaning you can punch out laps as quick as tyre conservation will allow. IF you come up on a car then they will be back markers so easier to pass, and the cars ahead will be peeling off ahead of you. Then at the end of the race your car will be at its quickest and ready to race while everybody else will be carrying a wounded car on shit tyres. Trust me, i am the supreme son of rajab of strategy

Hey, i drove a 800cc 3 cyl Handivan whilst building my old 427 Impala. Normal people seem to make do with 1.8L Corollas so there is no issue putting around the streets in a 1280kg RB20 powered GTSt. I am curious to know more about the people that have gone single and picked up throttle response. Unless you are putting in a fill piece replacing the throttle bodies and install a throttle body onto the std plenum, then any change could be a result of aerodynamics in the plenum

Gtr Project U Scr Slotted Rotors (new)
Roy replied to Roy's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I would keep these if they came with stickers, but sadly they dont -
LOL, all good, the guy that seemed keen PM'd me saying he was no longer interested As for tyres sizes, i guess for the 8.5" ou can go anywhere between 215 and 245 For the 9" you can go 235 to 255, maybe 265 if you dont mind them balooning out a little
-
Nah, Brawn still have a clear pace advantage, did you see how mnay laps they were able to get out of the soft tyre> And how they were quick over all the laps with no decay in lap times wen on them? The are clearly superior and now that there cars are deemed legal they probably wont be foxing so much
-
What you are after for crisp throttle response is good velocity and the ability to regulate it with the enough control that you can accurately fuel the engine and wind the ignition in. If you have a large throttle body then a small crack in the blade equates to a fair bit of air flow. Good for outright power, but for part throttel, crisp acceleration a small throttle body woudl be better. Thats why the smaller individual throttles woul dbe better for crisp acceleration as they being smaller diameter the gradient of airflow from the slightly open to fully open is more linear and therefore easier to control fuelling and tuning. LOL, well thats at least what i learned / recall from designing an inlet system for a ZX6R engine. There is a reason why bikes run barrel/slide etc inlets and majority of race cars etc all run multi setups/

RB30s are only for people who cant use a clutch and use the 5 gears Nissan gave them

Webs and Vettel close again in practice. Webs just pipping him. So good to see the two drivers going withing hundredths of a second of one another. Hopefully they go aggressive in qualifying and go low fuel, enough for only 6 or 7 laps with the soft tyre. Try and lead off the front, grab the harder tyre which is more consitant and punch out laps in free air and do two longer stints on the harder tyres. You read it here first, thats the only strategy that will see them with any chance of catching a podium. The Brawns got twice as much life out of the soft tyre then the other teams.
