Jack, just buy a track built GTSt and go even quicker LOL, my experience is ppl jumping into other peoples cars rarely go quicker, unless your car is vey simialr to theirs. Jumping in a Datsun with good power, i think you would have to be a really switched on driver to go any quicker then its regular steerer?!?!? They have to be ifficult things to steer quickly, lol no power steering, old steering racks etc etc

The adaptor are a good budget upgrade. If you can stretch the dollars the GTR Brembo is the slightly better option. If you are after a kit then go the AP 4 pot on 330mm rotor, i think the caliper is CP4200. GavSport or UAS in Sydney should be able to price it up for you. If the 330mm kit is a bit exxy then get it for a std sized GTR 324mm rotor so you can run the cheaper DBA 5000, 4000s or rotors from Project or Endless. ..my 2c.

My Bolt On Engine Upgrade Thread: R34 Gtr
Roy replied to Bakes's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Man, makes the std turbos look pretty punchy. Be interesting to see the torque plots? -
If your side intrusion doesnt affect entry/exit of the car then no problems. LOL , easier said then done. If you keep it below the side bolsters of the seat you are half a chance

Sorry Leigh, just read my post and think i spelt your name wrong. I just watched my vid again of the 1:23.1 and it is a long way from being a clean smooth lap. The car was a handful and i kind of enjoy the ride too much to smooth it out (plus there were other issues brewing) That first lap was a 1:23.1. It is making decent time up and down the straights, but you would need to play it side by sde with Ryans vids. I only have a 160rwks vid of Ryans car and it is painful how slow it is in a straight line. If you guys have vid footage to play side by side, start them both at the same point and see what the relative pace of the cars is in a straight line. Could be interesting. And different days, so different grip levels, but if you start my vid above at about 4 seconds and BBGTRs at 3.21 then you can see that there isnt a massive amount in it. Up to turn 4 i could be a tad quicker, but pretty even. On the back straight he pulls a tad on me, but nothing really, but over the back he slaughters me and is so much more confident up through the kink and into the braking area. I think he pulls a second there. So if i can just get my car settled a bit more under brakes and through there then there could be high 1:21s in it for me...lol some more power has never hurt either So we may not hahe GTR power but you have to remember that with fuel, fluids and driver the GTR is probably about 1630kgs, the GTSt and S13 would not be any more then 1380kgs. So thats 3 passengers

The body looks pretty decent on it. That was the thing 700hp-GTR thingy guy was selling wasnt it? How fast cn it get from the Ari to the Orient?

I am with you Lee. Half the fun for me is looking around and seeing what makes cars quick etc. Some people think its me hanging shit or what not, its not. To me its trying to work out the package and what you can easily do to bridge the difference is what i fnd real appealing/interesting. Rather then look at Improved Prod etc i tend to look at things like Brute Utes, they are more indicative along woth Prod Cars of what i think i should be able to match. Its pretty difficult to match a 850kg car with 180rwkws, (RX7) as its not just the acceleration, its the braking and corner speed that is difficult to match in a road car that weights 1350kgs with driver. I cant recall, but i think Brute Utes did 1:24s at Sandown when i first moved down, which is mostly the reason i was confident i could get below a 1:24s. Not saying this is always the case, but i thnk if people used 3rd gear instead of 2nd, 4th gears instead of 3rd for about 4 laps they will find their lap times would drop because it makes braking easier when you are going back through less gears, the car isnt so sensitive to throttle when in the corner, you tend to row through the corner quicker. It may not work, but people laugh at the fact i use 4th gear for turn 1 at Sandown, but turn 1 thru 4 is where my car is strong. I do turn 2 & 3 in 3rd and also 4th onto the back straight. So may not work for other cars but i suggest people at least give it a try. Other then that i got nothing, there is a reason why when you take me to a place like PI why the gap back to Ryan etc all closes to within only 1-2 seconds

Was interesting, but as all the drivers said a few laps behind slower cars took the edge of the lap speed of the tyres Given that Webber had clean air he could have been at his heaviest fuel wise, tyre trouble or on his hardest tyre...too many vairables. But who knows, it could simply mean that Vettel was quicker even given the same circumstances

Turn left Old Son, my life is in your hands!

BUT he is "Australia's Mark Webber" I like the guy, i like the way to goes racing, i loved watching him in the wet at Phllip Island in for FF days. He deserves to be there and would love to see him get a win or at least a break. The fact is he isnt the best in F1 but is one of the best 8 in my eyes and there are plenty of bigger hacks before him who have won GPs and some have even won WDCs so i just like to see the guy get a result

LOL, you are banned from flagging Wayne when a silver R32 is on track

Yeh, Sandown is all about grunt. But my 23.1 was with 230-235rwkws as i was only running 15psi. At PI i used 18-19psi to do the 52 flat. So i did a 25.2 at Sandown with my old ICE tune and the 10cm housing which was a laggier 222rwkws. I ran Dutton / Sandown with 260 and went slower at 1:24.2 or something Not posting to fly flags, simply pointing out that i think Ryan needs to throw his car on the dyno and get the tune looked at, i suspect its simply not making the power it should. As others have said, power rules at Vic tracks, Sandown being the most obvious example, lol probably the reason i like it...

Judder And Squeel At Sandown
Roy replied to essay's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The shuddering can be tyres, can be pad deposits on the rotors, can be warped rotors, From memory you are running the old GT Spec 6 pot APs, i would personally guess its pad deposits if its not there at high speeds when cold. -
Mate i am not a violent bloke but i would have stopped at the brow and had words. Farking idiot. LOL i am a big man with Dan to back me up...right Dan?
-
With the same turbo setup and brake setup your car can definitely do a 1:22, i dont know what you have with regards to suspension but my old Bilsteins were not anything great so.... you need to bin the 18s and go lighter 17s with decent rubber I am mega pumped and catn wait to get back behind the wheel later this year. LOL i bet my car will be slower with all the new mods
-
+ the weight of KERS
-
Do you use ECU, wheel speed or GPS to get speed for the data logger?
-
Webber is lighter then those around him, about all i can excited about is he drives like a bloody champion thru the field and gets a single point
-
True, but 10 or so bottles of Kingfisher and thoughts of Tollywood actresses also does the job
-
What did you hust type...still thinking about girls getting boob jobs Good to see you are happy with the outcome, nothing is worse then spending coin and not being happy with the result. Now doubt the DMS will perform well
-
Ride height, the only time i have ever suffered from understeer was when the front of my car was too low. Just have a look at the ride heights and get the front lifted, i am betting your front is too low. LOL though of course that is a guess having never seen you car so...caveat emptor, though i aint selling anything
-
Thats awesome! Good work Dean, i was starting to think that i was insane for thinking more of the later model rwd boys should be up in the 22 bracket! The Datsun boys are flying too these days
-
Fark me, look at the fuel loads. Vettel is heaviest of all the leaders, lol, the guy is going to bag his 3rd win Come on RBR! Lets hope Sutil blows up and Webber has fun with the traffic, the car is obviously good
-
You need to be sure to have the video camera hand for the first firing
-
Well he has the opportunity to still get points, just have to hope that he shows the same agressive overtaking he demonstrated in Malaysia. Q3 looks interesting. Oh yeh...and FAARK SUTIL! That hack couldnt stop spinning last weekend, he binned it when he found himself in the position of having made less mistakes then all the other people in the midfield who had tripped over one another....and now not happy enough with writing his own race weekend off with binning it wants to baulk cars on quali laps!! FARK! But why is it Mark didnt even get a banker lap in to ensure Q2... Mark makes his life difficult at times
