  1. I don't think I have particularly long arms. As I said I'm not sure why my DL is so much stronger than my other lifts, comparatively. In other news I went a wedding in Sydney this weekend, managed to go this massive Virgin gym next to the hotel on Saturday which was an experience. First of all it cost $30 for one session! I even asked the guy what was so special for it to warrant that cost. What it did have was: A huge rock climbing wall with about 6 different sections to climb. Three swimming pools. A room with 8 power plates? No idea what they were. Some strange room with lights and sensors that was obviously designed to make you work somehow. About 200 cardio machines (treadmills, bikes, rowers, etc) 30-40 weight machines Tons of dumbbells Half a dozen bench presses 4 smith machines and... 2 squat racks Both of said squat racks were occupied by people doing upright rows and other bullshit. When I finally did get a squat rack the "tough guy" beside me was punching and kicking the air between sets - not as a work out, just doing one or two jabs whilst staring at himself in the mirror. He also had massive headphones sitting on the ground blasting music loud enough for everyone in the gym to hear. When I was doing box squats I had a PT (or some employee) come over and ask me if I had a towel, he said everyone needed to have one. I asked him where I was meant to put it, he told me it didn't matter and that I needed to bring one next time. Funniest part was when I overheard some guy commenting on how much I lifted when I was deadlifting. I still look pretty skinny, and I was only lifting 105kg but I guess in a gym where the biggest lift people do is bench press it was a lot of weight. Really made me appreciate where I'm currently training so much more. At PTC the atmosphere is so much better, people are friendly, helpful and encourage you. This place was just blasting commercial trance whilst chicken legged cowboys with attitude eyed each other off whilst they benched and curled. I am exaggerating slightly, and being very cynical but it was just a funny experience I thought I'd share.
  2. I suspect I do naturally have a strong back. From the first time I started deadlifting I was always able to pick up big weights compared to my other lifts. My form is good, I have a coach whose trained world record holders watching me everytime I lift. Plus, 120kg is terrible. You should see the weights the guys pick up here, and some of them weigh a lot less than I do.
  3. Do pause squats. It what Markos gets my mate to do who can't squat very deep, just go as deep as you can go and sit there for a couple of seconds.
  4. Few PB this week. Benched 60kg and squated 70kg, these were part of working sets, not 1RM. Like Ghosty I'm doing PPP at the moment (currently week 3), in about two months I should hopefully be benching 75kg, squatting 90kg and deadlifting 135kg.
  5. I bought shoes from IronEdge recently. Awesome place if you're looking for quality weight lifting gear.
  6. My main is currently level 43 (haven't done any of the main quest) with heavy plate, block, 1 handed weapons, smithing, enchanting and conjuration. Has put every single point into health and has nearly 600hp. With 100 heavy plate and all the perks, plus filled upgraded daedric armour, he's a f**king tank. I've also gone Brenton which grants 25% magic resist (or 75% with their ability for 60sec). I'm going to remake though as a sneaker. Sneak attacks are so much fun. Going to play on the hardest difficulty focusing on dual wielding, and all the crafting abilities. A mate of mine has maxed alchemy, smithing and enchanting and has a one handed mace that does like 500 damage. You keep cycling the crafting abilities up. e.g. Make a potion that increases enchanting, enchant an items that increases alchemy, make another potion that further increases enchanting, etc, until you have potions/enchanted armour that increase smithing by like 300%. Then make stupidly strong daggers and go for the 30x backstab.
  7. I reckon I've put a solid 30 hours into this game, and have done barely anything! I'm level 42, and have done nothing the main quest.
  8. I'm 6' and still look like a twig. Markos reckons if I want to be competitive at my height I really need to be around 100kg lol. Spoke to him about you, apparently you used to live them or something? I've also started PPP this week, seems like an awesome program.
  9. Bought my NA 5spd manual Supra about 3 years ago for $11,000. Was pretty much stock except for rims. Put full exhaust in it, including extractors, 2-way TRD diff, and swaybars. Sold it a month ago for $8,000.
  10. 160kg at 70kg is impressive man! I'm about to hit 70kg and can barely squat 70kg! How tall are you? I've gone from 62 to 70kg in the last few months I still look like a bean pole.
  11. How is this event so empty!? Need some marketing happening. SAU DECA is such good value there is absolutely no reason it shouldn't be constantly full.
  12. Yeah, 3x a week for about... 8 weeks now? Best gym I've ever been to. Not only for the awesome equipment, but it just has a great environment and atmosphere that makes you really push yourself.
  13. I'll be moving onto PPP in a couple of months. The guy who trains me is the one who wrote that, but right now I'm small enough to see good gains from doing squat, bench and DL 5x5, 3 days a week.
  14. Have you ever been on this skidpan before? Do NOT wet it, you will ruin everyone's fun. Its easy enough to slide on already, even in underpowered NA cars. When its wet you literally have to feather the throttle everywhere, you get no traction, speed or control.
  15. Hey guys, a friend of mine heading up with Jett and co. is willing to help out. His name is Gary Swift. Chuck him some place with a good view. Cheers.
  16. Its really my fault, I never submitted the leave request. I thought I did, I submitted like five all at once for exams and a wedding, but apparently not for DECA. Even though I had spoken to my manager several times about having this weekend off, but when I actually saw my hours it was too late to change/replace them. No one wants to work a Saturday. On the plus side I always spend a stupid amount of money at DECA which can now be put towards the 180 fund.
  17. Sorry guys I can't make this. Work has stuffed me around and simply won't let me have this Saturday off. Promise I'll volunteer next DECA!
  18. Brad, Tayler and I are out sorry. Due to a fk up at work I can't get this Saturday off. Hope you guys all have fun, was looking forward to coming down and drinking to the point (and well beyond) where I don't have to worry about driving at all the next day. Plus we all I know I owe you guys a few volunteer days.
  19. So who's playing this? I'm currently rocking a Night Elf Destruction Mage. I'm enjoying it, but I can't play it for too long. Last night I played it for an hour or two then switched back to BF3 as its still addictive as all hell.
  20. Is it worth buying? From all the reviews I've watched/read MW3 seems to be just one big expansion of MW2. New maps and guns, with tweaks to the perks/kill sprees, but no actually gameplay difference. I'm loving BF3 still, so I might just hold off on MW3.
  21. Since Bec is racing I'll take her spot as the long wang starter!
  22. Why not just wait? I can't see how the cost/risk of storing a car which is only going to depreciate is a better idea than just buying one when you get here.
  23. Latest lifts. Squat 65kg 5x5 BP 55kg 5x5 Deadlift 120kg 3x3 Press 30kg 3x8 I actually am 68kg now. In my last post it was rounded up on a good day. I'm not really looking any bigger yet as most the weight has gone into my legs, but its definitely there as I have to peel my jeans off and my work pants are threatening to split. Put on a bit of fat too, its very slight and probably not noticeable by anyone but myself.
