Hmm, I might have to ring up a workshop thats done this a few times or ask Dr Phil. I'm not fussed getting it off ... its only going 'on'. Can anyone recommend a workshop who's done GTR boxes before?

While I'm here ... Can anyone tell me, or point me to a link, as to how a GTR/260 gearbox pull-type clutch fork mates up with the pull-type clutch kit, so the clutch engages properly. Push type I know you just slide things on. But is there a trick to fitting the GTR box to a pull type pressure plate and carrier? Thanks

I have absolutely no idea. You will have to enquire. Weighs about 90kg. Tiptronic gearbox is now out of the Stagea ... doing my manual conversion now. Get yourself a bargain ... if not sold by the end of the year, it'll just get lost in my garage.

Progress Report: Luke and I got the tiptronic box out of the Stagea today ... those things are f**king heavy!!! Next step is to fit the Exedy flywheel and clutch kit to the crank, then put the manual box in place. Thanks a bunch for the help so far Luke.

Awesome! Closer to me. I'd been a customer of theirs since back in the day Craig ran Mad Dat from there ... when I sold my house down south and moved to the Regency area, it was just too far to travel to get there. Thats good news ... for me anyway

Gearbox swap is getting started this weekend! Got all my bits and shit sorted. Dropping the Stagea off at Luke's workshop tonight ... start tomorrow ... finish next weekend. Pacing myself rather than rushing it ... but the sooner I get her back the better Luke and I will be at his shop after 1pm Saturday 12 Dec. Anyone feel like helping or chatting, feel free to drop in. PM me or Luke for the address.

Speaking of getting serious ... I've got all the bits I need for the swap now Luke. If next weekend is a bit tight due to your brother's birthday, we could prob still go ahead with the swap this weekend? I'll SMS you too about this. Let me know which weekend works best.

Agreed. I see many idiots in skylines giving us a bad name. Unfortunately, Skylines attract hoons, as well as the enthusiasts. Hoons need to drop the attitude, learn to drive, and do us all a favour and STFU ... or sell your Skyline altogether and buy yourself a Commonwhore to fit right in.

Mate, words cannot describe how f**king hilarious it was. I couldn't stop laughing. Still chuckling now. Explained to the guy who got hit, why I was laughing, and he agreed "so it was karma then eh? Too bad I got in his way". Yeah too bad for him, but his car is still driveable I'm sure ... the BMW was leaking coolant all over the place.

Had a good laugh about 10 minutes ago. Not really funny, but the circumstances leading up to it ... and the karma ... was definitely funny. Had some mid 40yo guy in a new BMW 650 'supercar' trying to encourage me to race him just on the southern side of the city. Had some bimbo blonde in the passenger seat, and he had the whole 'chewing gum' thing going on. First set of lights I pull up next to him, he takes a long hard stare, then when the lights go green he rockets off occupying both lanes and breaking the speed limit easily. Next set of lights, again I pull up next to him, and he's now trashing my car in front of the bimbo, using words like "hoon" and "jap crap". Lights go green and again he rockets off, and I cruise off again obeying the speed limit. Next set of lights I'm next to him again (why the rush? lol) and this time he's creeping the car forward in 'hop' motions and staring at me. Then the lights for cars to turn right only go green, but he rockets off ... straight into a Falcon! 'Bang' ... sucked in! I cruised around the crash and pull over. I'm giving my details to the innocent party for their claim, whilst laughing at the BMW (small dick) idiot the whole time. He is a mix of embarassment and anger (prob at me laughing at him). It was with great pleasure I say to him "So who's the hoon?" before walking back to my car and driving off! Classic karma!

For Sale: Nismo HD single plate clutch kit for push type setup ... $350 No thrust bearing carrier Comes with freshly machined Nismo pressure plate (cost $97) and two clutch plates (one of them Nismo, the other stock). Also comes with Nismo flywheel. Kit is same dimensions as stock setup so your current thrust bearing carrier will be fine. Sell for what I paid $350 (not including the $97 I just paid for the machining = $447). Was just purchased last week! Was going to convert box to push type, but parts never arrived. Sticking with pull type now. Serious buyers only! PM me with interest

No ... pull to a push. But its not happening this weekend now. I cannot get some of the parts I need at such short notice ... parts that should have come by today have not, and I need to reschedule this for next weekend. Boo hiss! Plan for next weekend. I'll let you guys know when I can confirm that.
