  1. I think you will have to remove the head (or maybe the whole engine) as you only need a tiny bit of swarf to block your oilways - or you could get fine particles circulating in your oil supply.
  2. There is a post on how to get the heater core out without removing the whole dash. I'll try and find it soon as I think mine is starting to leak as well. The last time I did one on a Stagea the core was about $70.
  3. Have you read this: http://www.skylinesd...ead.php?t=51894 and this: http://www.skylinesa...sion-checklist/ That pretty much covers it. Most of what you have been told is wrong. You don't need a half cut (the 260RS is built from an RS4T off the assembly line) just need (obviously) to cut a hole for the gearshift and weld the handbrake bracket on ...the GTR box will fit with a little jiggling - all the information is in the above links - its quite straightforward and can be done in a day or weekend if you have all the bits lined up. Best done with some mates - i have heard of some workshops charging ridiculous amounts of money to do it. BTW if you are fitting an RB26 budget for a decent clutch and a brake and suspension upgrade so you can keep it on the road! (Oh and one of my 300km/hr speedo kits!)
  4. Did have - the engine is in an R32 GTR now - you can imagine how that goes!
  5. I neede new struts for my Toyota - went to the wreckers and they were very honest - said 2nd hand ones are all droopy - so I rang the mobile regas and they fitted new generic ones for about $70 a pair.
  6. You have an R34 and your new ecu is R34? It should run the VCT fine.
  7. The source of my information is Glenn Suckling (GDS Motorsport) but best to contact Soichi yourself:http://www.sthitec.co.nz/Sthitec/sthitec-latest-news/
  8. Get injectors cleaned and replace o rings - bigger or aftermarket injectors will do nothing for you (unless yours are faulty but cleaning and testing will determine that for you).
  9. You're going to buy a $14k car because you can't afford a $9500 (or less) one? You can get finance for private sales from AA or other finance companies or your bank.
  10. Here ya go: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/nissan/stagea/auction-447449839.htm
  11. He has the hardware and soft ware - he used to work for Nissan in Japan - goes back regularly and has good contacts there.
  12. They are pretty reliable. Turbos can fail but there are plenty of parts about. Soichi at Hytech in Mt Welligton is the only person in the country who can tune the stock ecu and he can also fit an HKS F-Con if you want to go to town on mods.
  13. Wreckers (or one of the people on this forum wrecking a C34) - sorry threw my remaining spares out when I sold the house!
  14. Can't read Japanese but Mines appear to list a 120mm titanium exhaust for BNR32 or 34 at 270,000 yen
  15. Both will be fine. Some tuning shops may never have seen a Nistune and may be hesitant. If you can't find a good tuner for the Nistune look for a cheap PFC but Nistune should work out cheaper.
  16. Are you using the highest grade petrol available? Check to see if you airfilter is cloged?
  17. Get a venom 100 cell cat - power loss will be minimal.
  18. Read the thread from P.K above - looks like he might have one to spare - or read the whole thread for some ideas for replacing it.
  19. A lot of people put the battery in the boot (for cars that don't already have it there) and get a fabricator to make a combined washer bottle/catch can to fit in the available space (some with cut outs for the intercooler piping). I am too cheap for that and I have found that my washer bottle can share the space with the piping by making some new brackets. I may have to go with the flexible filer hose as above^^^ but am not prepared to lose either front or rear washers they are good for an extra 10kw at least!
  20. Can't read the screen - what revs? That's a massive intercooler as well.
  21. There is a wiring diagram which shows the fuel pump feed on page EN265 of the R33 manual. Have a look here: http://bagpuss.swan.ac.uk/200sx/manuals/skyline/
  22. I put on a Greddy copy (cost $300) with my stock throttle body when I got my RB30 so no direct before and after comparisons but I am happy with the way my car goes. The main downside, and it appears to apply to the Plazmaman as well, is that the angle of the intake means your piping has to go where the battery is and I had to hack away some of the fusebox to make room for the throttlebody. I believe some people are developing adaptor plates to make it easier to fit RB26 plenums although if I had more money I would just have put an RB26 head on my RB30.
  23. I have an R33GTR master cylinder BM57 -
  24. An RB30/25 does not have to be very expensive. In stock SOHC form they were quite unstressed which is why many people (like me) get away with stock internals and just do rings, bearings, conrod bolts and oil pump and still make good power with heaps of torque using no more than 6500rpm. Or you can go fully forged but use mostly stock components such as manifolds maybe splashing out on a GT3076 and then upgrade the rest later (or not). It depends what the car is intended for and on the plans of the OP.
  25. Take your car to Yavuz at Unigroup. I am sure there must be other competent tuners in Sydney but he is the only one whose fame has spread across the Tasman! Seriously its worth going out of your way to find a really good tuner and you will never regret paying for a quality tune.
