Wheel Alignment - Rear Camber For R32 Gtst
pipster11 replied to Rekin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
it feels like a bucket of shit (na its not that bad) the tie rods have been removed and the coilovers wound up all round so as a result everyrthing is out and there is about 10 degrees of play in the steering now tbh its never gonna see a track but we have some good roads here in tas but they aren't the best quality car has coilovers but no adjustable camber tops r32 gtst not pushing that much power either -
Wheel Rubs On Rotor
pipster11 replied to pipster11's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
anyone? -
well looks like it may have been a bad 02 sensor making the maps rich (also causing a bad idle too)
-
bit of a long reply but... bled the abs unit again (few tiny bubbles in there) made no difference at all to pedal length (the length of the soft bit) was doing 80 on a wet road STOMP!!! and the fronts just locked and slid i think the left locked first tho (but only just) also sometimes when braking hard i can hear a grating noise (is this common with slotted rotors?)

Wheel Alignment - Rear Camber For R32 Gtst
pipster11 replied to Rekin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
hey where is this thread of his? i really need and alignment but been putting it off cos there aren't many good places here in tas will take it somewhere with these settings and tell them -
i was thinking this too but your only really coating the front and the back and not the fins in the middle and they are what does most of the cooling anyway
-
na i think i have narrowed it down to a bad o2 sensor unplugged it and reset the ecu and it drives and idles much better plugged it back in and it went crap again where would be best to get one from? i'll prob use the el ford falcon one and cut and splice repco? bursons? or other?

Steering Play - Help!
pipster11 replied to pipster11's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
cool thats what i want to hear p/s belt snapped today (thank got the water pump is on a different belt) was on the highway so i didn't really notice (didn't hear anything which was strange) so will get that fixed up asap too just a question about driving without p/s, should it be really hard to turn while moving? and could i have damaged anything without having the p/s running? (prob did about 30kms of driving with it snapped) -
cool thanks for that bit busy with uni atm but if i get a chance i'll try to get there can you let me know if your up launnie way with spare time please?

Misfire On Boost At 4000rpm - Another One
pipster11 replied to GUN32R's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ignitor pack? and the grounding to it? -
not sure if i still need this d/c the o2 sensor as recomended by a mech mate and the idle is smoother so it could be a dud o2 will keep it posted problem is just a flat spot as the car is coming onto boost, not plugs or coilpacks and not grounding either

Steering Play - Help!
pipster11 replied to pipster11's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
not really and we were in a bit of a hurry and it goes against everything i say to ppl but i just wanted to get it done just want to check that i haven't screwed the rack cos there was no play in it before and i found it strange that adjusting the height could affect this -
hey guys should have done this ages ago and have been really slack but here goes had my 32 gtst for a while now the suspension was real low so when it was up on the hoist i raised it up a fair bit and also replaced the rack boots on both sides as they were both split we also removed the crap that had built up with some inox and a rag and wiped them down, chucked the boots on and then raised the suspension after and put some slotted rotors on too. we measuered the amount of thread we had on both sides and reset it back to that after. i have yet to had an alignment, yes i know im slack, but the car gets driven once or twice a week at most and have been really busy with uni (i live on campus so dont need to drive) so what happens now is the wheel is even more off centre (i put that down to removing the rack ends and replaceing them) but there is also a fair bit of play in the steering (maybe 10 or 20 degrees) but only while moving and its less noticable at carpark speeds. And its better when the car is cold Could it be the alingment? or lack of grease? worn rack? or what? i've held the wheels and had someone turn the steering wheel to look for something loose but cant see anything, i havent crawed under the car yet as its been raining, but will do asap. Please help Thanks Tom

hey guys just wanting to borrow (and buy if its the problem) an ignitor for an rb20det to trouble shoot a problem Let me know if you have one i can use Thanks Tom
-
mine spins all the time get a screwdriver and with the car off use the screwdriver to keep the fan from moving then have someone start the car if you can hold the fan in place and stop it from moving then its ok if it flicks the screwdriver out and spins then it needs fixing
-
Still here and still for sale!!! little bit more flexible on price as i'm going away soon and dont want to leave it un driven for too long if i can help it
-
i'd staight swap you mine if there were a new set of tyres on there otherwise ist not really fair seeing as it would be about $2000 for a set with crap tyres on them the currently have 225 45 r18's on them (cant remeber what brand tho) what size tyres are on yours and what offset?

Rb20det Running Like Crap
pipster11 replied to natoe aka slw 031's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
it should have got worse on 5 of the cyls if u unplugged each injector there must be 1 faulty one so if u unplug the wrong cyl = running on 4 cyls will start up my 32 for ya tmrw and have a feel, but i have suspicions that my resistor pack is dodgy too but from memory yes its pretty warm - hence the cooling fins on it -
yeah its cool i think they are some of the better chormies getting about but im still not a fan trying to swap them as we speak, but no one in tas has good wheels or wants to swap
-
thanks for your support mate yes it is a skyline with chrome wheels, but they aren't really bling bling ones, they dont look too bad in hindsight i shouldn't have bought it but what can you do i like to take care of my car and when its not running 100% it annoys me, especially when i cant find the fault oh and here is a pic any way
-
my 32 is giving me the shits been chasing a dam flat spot since i bought it ~4 months ago think i have nearly nailed it tho but it does some random shit sometimes im in tas atm and moved down from qld its up for sale cos i'm bringing the 31 my gf used to drive down and i love that car too (even tho its a pos adm 31) the 32 is so nice and looks shit hot (full vertex kit and non gay chrome 18's) it goes good too but isn't as much fun as the s13 i used to have (but handles better) i dunno if i should sell the 32 or the 31 cos i love both cars but if i sell the 32 i'll have $10k+ sitting in my pocket and i'll get something better at the end of the year when i head back up to qld give me some guidance guys (im at uni atm too so have like no cash and dont drive it much anymore) you guys want pics too?
