  1. Funny story. My ex-gfs brother has a VL turbo. Anyway, after side-swiping a pole trying to drift it, it was off the road for 12 months while he (well mostly his dad) replaced panels, fixed dents etc, and sprayed it. Came up pretty good too. One week after he got it back on the road, flogging the hell out of it as he does (with all his passengers saying "slow down"), he smashes his front end into a pole, then bounces it backwards into another pole. Now I KNOW VL drivers are idiots.
  2. Mindflux, my car is totally stock too, except for a pod filter. I had the stock plug gap of 1.1 in it, and as soon as the real cold weather hit down here (cold, as in 0 degrees) it started to miss at high revs. Don't know if it was the pod taking in more air or what, but regapping the plugs at 0.8 stopped it. I'd recommend 0.8 gaps even if your car is stock. If you mod it even slightly later, you may get some missing. Just my experience....
  3. Sweet, thanks Duncan.
  4. Hey guys, keen to join, just need to get some spare dosh. As croat said, any club discounts anywhere? Just printed off the application form and will send it out as soon as I get some cash spare. Out of interest, how many members are there Aus. wide so far?
  5. I seriously think some people that live near by this bloke need to pay him a visit. Don't spose anyone has a photo of him?
  6. There was a guy down the south coast who actually did that, and had it fully engineered. Been at summernats at few times.
  7. I always liked jap engines cos they revved hard and had turbos, but if a big block can rev like that, and have turbos, I want one too!
  8. Sounds damn expensive. Any costings where you got pic from?
  9. 100 000rpm?! Almost as fast as the turbos. But seriously, like any big hp drag engine, it wont last long..
  10. Found this on ebay. Complied and registered. Very tempting. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...2482076602&rd=1
  11. Cheers guys. Reyne, what sort of mods are needed to the end tank? Did you do it yourself or have a pro modify it, and how much did the mods cost?
  12. Hey guys, I have an intermittant startup prob with my car at the moment. Sometimes on starting the car (has happened when its warm and cold) it idles very low, the hicas light flickers or stays on, it revs freely but this doesn't help the idle. I've cleaned the AAC and AFM, plugs were changed only 4000km ago, and usually it runs fine, which is what confuses me. Could this be the coil packs? Any ideas??
  13. Anyone know if you can clean an o2 sensor? Carbie cleaner maybe. Or is f@#cked just plain F%*cked??
  14. Hey guys, just wondering whether it would be worth changing my stock intercooler for an R33 or 34 unit. Do they flow or cool any better? Would I be better off just saving for a front mount? (I know that would be heaps better, but I can't afford it for ages). Also do they bolt straight up? Any info or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks
  15. I'm looking for some cheap but good condition lowered rear springs for my R32 GTSt. Please PM me if you have some you want to get rid of. No chopped springs please!! I may consider a full set if the price is right!
  16. I bought a set of ventus HR 2's, as my tyres were almost bald and I had very little money at the time. Very cheap tyres ($120 each for 225/50 16's) and the y perform very cheaply too. Dry is ok, but in the wet you don't want to hit boost, or you're all over the road. Might splurge next time and buy the sports if I have the cash....
  17. Around 10km/l in my stock R32 GTSt. Drive easy most of the time and mileage will be pretty good. Drive hard all the time and expect to use at least 50% more fuel.
  18. unfortunately working. Oh well at least its double-time and a half.
  19. If they still plumb-back, they won't make noise unless you put on pod filters. Hope you didn't buy them to get the noise, cos filters are cheaper!
  20. There are two bolts down the bottom of the back of the seat. They are in the corners between the side trim of the panels. Sorry I dont have a digi camera. Undo these and then slide the back of the seat upwards, as there are then two clips which lock into place when slid back down. If you cant figure out what I mean PM me and I'll give you an email address to send me a pic and I'll put some arrows etc on it.
  21. I've got a click noise from my 32. Please fill us in on what your prob was paulr33, as it's pissing me off and I'd love to fix it!!
  22. I've ordered bits of those guys too. Couldn't be happier. As everyone else has said, prompt service, good products and they value repeat business.
  23. Funkymonkey, that looks kickass!! How did you do it exactly? Is it very difficult? You ever considered selling changeover/exchange sets??
  24. Its not the size that makes it loud. If the muffler is in good nick it shouldn't be too bad. More power is the main reason to get a bigger exhaust, and if they are cheap enough, go for it , but keep your old one just in case.
  25. 230kw @wheels.
