Anyone Using A Quaife Diff?
Nismo 3.2ish replied to Lonewolf1983's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi Justin, I bought the Quaife and have been talking to some blokes that are using/going to use 2 other mods they say go together, BUT I may have misunderstood. 1. TSC, I guess the TSC can be used to add the power to the wheels when you want them to have in any given situation 2. add a couple of plates to the trannie, it will transfer the power to the front quicker than the stock setup. As I respect these blokes I will give it a go and see what happens, I figure if you do not try you will never know, haha The build should start in about 3 weeks and hoping for around 400awkw with grunt down low , it is killing me waiting as I have everything ready to be installed. Just had the Advan RS-Ds put on , what do you think?? -
Rb30/26 Power Fc Vs Haltech Platinum Pro
Nismo 3.2ish replied to felixy69's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I had a worked Rb26 motor, forged pistons etc. From what was said to me, it is hard to get the T78 to come on full boost before 5000rpm, mine was later , at about 5500-6000 for full boost and rip your head off. Maybe it was the tune, I am new to this but everything I have read so far indicated that they get full boost no earlier than 5k with an RB26 motor. I put a PT6262 and poncams B and it was a different car tuned by the same bloke?? Maybe everyone has a different idea of lag, but mine was SO LAGGY and with the quad clutch a sh@t to drive, full load and steep hill take off, it was hell on wheels. I do not mean doing a 6-8000rpm launch, maybe the clutch had a lot to do with it??????? Sorry off topic -

Hope the RB30/26 setup you have with the T78 works better than my T78 worked for me on the street, it was a pig to drive as a DD and did nothing until 5000rpm -

Building An Rb26 For Response....
Nismo 3.2ish replied to Antimatter's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
So you cannot drop down a gear or 2 if you are not moving? I thought they would be like a bike? At least I will not have to worry about that but I love they way they boot through the gears Some of the boys there are going for the OS88 and it will be interesting to see how they like them. I am looking forward to using the Quaife along with the rest of the build. Never chased second hand parts for a car and to be honest I would not know a good RB30 block from a heap of crap I will have a look on Ebay, but maybe I am looking at the wrong thing as I have typed in RB30 block and get nothing????? It has been 6 weeks since I gave the go ahead for the build, I have everything ready, so I will just hope for the best BUT reading some builds on different Forums I am sure mine will be done and dusted long before some that started 2 or 3 years ago, shit I might be dead if I had to wait that long, haha -
Building An Rb26 For Response....
Nismo 3.2ish replied to Antimatter's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi Mick, those OS88 look like the real thing, wonder what they are like on the street, I guess not too driver friendly but you get used of things after a while and seems like the norm Have all the parts ready to get the build going. Decided to go with a Nismo Coppermix twin Comp Spec clutch , some of the boys said they are a great clutch and will be a little more forgiving on the box. Also swapping the front diff with a Quaife ATB Helical. Just waiting for them to get an RB30 Block and it can get started Stuffed if I know what is taking so long to get one -

R34 Gtr Build
Nismo 3.2ish replied to JEM Dyno's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Hi Bobby, enjoying the thread, tech goes over my head but all good. Have you had the final tune yet, love to see the results and hope you get what you were after. Looks great I am going for response and would be pissed if my build takes 3 months, buy the parts and have someone stuff it under the bonnet and hope for the best But nothing like the effort you have put into this car You can sell it now and start all over again, haha -
Had a few ready to choose from but went with this

Came on the site to get some help, listened to a lot of blokes and followed advice from people that have been doing a lot of their own work and checked their results. I am doing a RB30/3.2L Nitto stroker and taking their advice and going with the EU, 260 10.8 cams , so I guess I will find out how good the advice was Has Daniel finished the build yet, love to see the results

Building An Rb26 For Response....
Nismo 3.2ish replied to Antimatter's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Oh, I believe there is no doubt that will happen. Trying to nail down exactly what I want and then what I need. I will try to do it smart by using all of the info you blokes give me and running it past the builder and I hope for the best outcome -

Yeh , just been kicking back with a red and thinking I might go with the build as is but do the Quaife Diff and see what happens, if something goes pop, fix it. I do not want all of these leftovers sitting around the garage -
Building An Rb26 For Response....
Nismo 3.2ish replied to Antimatter's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
HI Mick ,I understand that and I thought the Getrag was a beefy box but I guess when the type of torque I will have kicks in when driving hard, something will eventually give out. Paul suggested to dump the quad and look into the Coppermix C Spec. Looks like I have got myself into something, but all good -

Hi Scotty I have explained this a few times but here we go again , anything for you Scotty .I have even asked the SAU site for an answer to the problem, but I think it has to do with my security on the laptop and I cannot get it to work. I could not sign in on my laptop under TT350GT so I had to register as "The Real nismo1" and with a different email address , so when I am not able to access my PC I could still log in , read and participate in the Forum , SORRY Why don't you use your wealth of knowledge for good instead of evil and answer some questions instead of being Mr Picky maybe there should be an R in there somewhere
