  1. I believe the Federals are a UTQG 140 where as the Dunlops are 200, Ive never used Federals myself so I cannot compare. The Hankooks are 140 and I found the Hankooks wear more than the Dunlops but the Hankooks are more grippy straight off where the Dunlops needed a lap to come good and did get a bit "greasy" after about 8 laps at Wakie. Disclaimer: Im far from a expert in these things. Thats a bugger though about not shipping the Hankooks, I myself may go back to the Star Specs.
  2. Have you had a local quote for them yet ?
  3. The last quote I got for the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star specs in Australia was between $360 and $400 a tyre if I remember correctly. Tire rack had them at the time for $128 a tyre. Add the $350 shipping and I was still miles ahead in savings. Things may have changed though.
  4. Where I am ATM, best 60ft was 2.1 Installed stock shocks with heavy duty standard height springs, measured camber which came to positive 0.75 deg, as my camber was set at 0.75 neg on my Bilstiens w/ low King springs it is a change of 1.5 deg. Car was raised from 340 to 380 at the rear, 40mm more height so hopefully the Drag radials will not hit the guard now. If this doesnt work Im going to replace the low King springs for the heavy duty springs in my Bilstien shocks and set the shocks at the heighest setting. Trying to get the car set up for the drags by just replacing the struts so I can have my normal street/track struts and my drag struts as the only thing I need to change, I can see this not working well though and a couple of trips to the tyre shop for re/re alignments between drags and circuit work. ATM my main concern is getting the car set up for the SAU NATS airport run, weather permitting Ive got 4 Wendsday night drag days to get my sorted on. Hopefully my 60 ft gets better and I can drop my times. RWDFTWBBQ
  5. My Hankooks RS3 255/40 17 are great, tread wear of 120, nice and grippy straight away, they are a high performance tyre, long lasting taxi tyres should stay on taxis. After about 5000 road klm and 3 track days they are at about 40% left. Will defiantly buy again from tire rack. The Dunlop Direzza star specs I had prior to the Hankooks were good but took slightly longer to come on I felt, but they did have a tread wear of 200 I believe so if longevity is something your looking for I would go the Dunlop.
  6. Or the 3 from the Titanic which have only done a few nautical miles so still should be in good condition.
  7. Might be a wheel bearing, or binding brakes. The sound clip sounded like white noise for a while then a bit of whale song
  8. Question 1 - how much PSI you going to run Question 2 - how safe a tune Question 3 - how long is a peice of string Post results here > http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/55845-rb25-turbo-upgrade-all-dyno-results/ You may want to have a read through it first to get a idea
  9. SSCC, HSV, WRX, AROCA, NSCC are usually always well represented at these events, I would be going but Im spending the next month trying to work out how to make my car go fast in a straight line.
  10. That price is fair, its actually slightly cheaper than some other places around.
  11. PM sent but no reply. Hence, BUMP
  12. Any news on this yet mate.
  13. I found a few but all they said was to get to 0 deg camber on squat, not what you could start around, on a yank site there was talk of 0.5 positive but that was on drag specific shocks and springs on a new Camaro. Its a pity but I assume that people are not to keen on giving up their "secret"alignment settings they most likely spent along time working out....
  14. G,day, Im after some knowledgable info. Car is a R33 GTST running M/T Street radials, with my "drag suspension" (stock shocks w/ standard height springs) installed in the rear the car has been raised about 50mm and has given me around 1 deg positive camber (roughly using a straight edge and calibrated eye). As it is a IRS car would this be fine to get near a 0 deg camber when it squats on launch. I know there is more to it than rough numbers but really all Im after is a good starting point and then start adjusting from there. Thanks, Mark.
