  1. Most oils which say "Fully Synthetic" are not 100% synthetic. I think only certain oils (such as motuls 300V for example) state they are 100% synthetic or 100% ester based.
  2. Sometimes sales people will recommend products because they have a quota to make, or there's a deal if the sales person sells 10 of these they get one free. I like Penrite products, because they always answer my technical questions with fact and engineered experiments. I like to try and support local product and Penrite have been Australian owned since 1926! I have ran most of my motors using Penrite and the condition they are in (wear on bores etc. cam wear, big end bearing wear etc.) excellent condition. Give MotoFluid in Bayswater VIC a call. They are a Penrite stockist and provide discount for bulk purchase (20L drum anyone?) PLUS they are HEAVILY involved in motorsport including support club racing/sprints etc. One of the tech guys there (Ken) has had numerous Datsun 1600's and other non important cars , and has a fair bit of experience with oils. Good bloke and has a vast amount of experience/knowledge with a no bullshit approach.
  3. You should've cut the blue wire instead of the green. (jks)
  4. You mean get bigger tyres?
  5. Air in the lines???
  6. Spotted on the weekend a silver stagea M35 with GTR wheels around Burwood. (VIC) Spotted last night a silver C34 giving it the berries driving down blackburn road (I was on burwood Hwy) This morning, spotted a white M35 driving down wellington road! I hope one of you spotted me.....I haven't been spotted yet!
  7. One time when the AFM died in my HR31, it would idle like $hit. I could still drive it though. What the hell has this got to do with spotting stageas???
  8. One other reason I am a fan of EBC's is the ability to link the boost to speed or gears. Once you get over a certain speed it kicks the boost higher. This is great for cars which have stupid amounts of horsepower and weigh nothing (kind of like a Datsun 1600). 1st gear is useless unless you are running around 10psi or less. So if you have a 17psi Disco potato pumping out 220 rwkw, you just limit boost in 1st until you can USE the horsepower. (like 3rd gear or something )
  9. Usually dual boost setups (Hi Low) are for daily driven/drag (High) and track use (low). For race use, temperatures get hotter, engines are more stressed and most of the time it is better for the engine to run when highly stressed on lower boost because you have the safety margin. Therefore a low/high boost setup does make sense. For everything else, right foot is the perfect control!
  10. I respect your psychological diagnosis, and the feel of the GTV is probably better from the seat of your pants. I can't argue with your logic, and I wont. I merely point out from an engineering perspective, and the seat of my pants. I'm glad the GTV does it for you, and agree with the rex, XR6T and the clubby.
  11. FWD and feel through wheel can't be used in the same sentence. Even the Volkswagen GTI Golf doesn't have 'great' feel through the wheel. Datsun 1600.... Now that is feel through the wheel (and feel through everything else for that matter )
  12. I suggest driving a 159 and you can make your own mind up. I think driving it will help make your mind up, then perhaps the Audi will become a healthy oponent....
  13. I don't get it? 16-18K for a good quality Stag with a decent service history is bang for buck, considering what else is out there? An Alfa 159 for 20K? I've driven one of them (petrol wagon) and was far from impressed. Plus the owner has had MANY problems with injectors, TPS, gearbox issues etc. etc. All fixed under warranty, but he got rid of it and bought a subi liberty. Said it drove better And then I took him for a drive in the M35....I think he's looking for one.
  14. Strange. C34's usually go pretty good for a wagon. The one you drove must be in bad need of a service etc. Of course M35's kick arse and chew bubble gum. (and I'm all out of gum) IMHO the M35 is a comfortable cruiser, but can go pretty hard if you push the loud pedal. It's quiet and has a fair bit of room. Much the same as the C34!
  15. You know.... This thread ain't half bad.... That's right It's ALL BAD!
  16. +2 for me as well. It's what I was trying to say but kept getting shot down in flames.
  17. Couldn't find a dude with a chainsaw... Mmmmm Jessica Alba... What were we talking about again?
  18. Watch out guys. We've either got: 1. Redflex's no 1 share holder right here. How's the shares looking fella? Not so good at the moment? 2. OP's ex girlfriend? (She didn't like how fast he drove or was jealous of his other girlfriend who was big white phat and has twin turbos) 3. A 16 year old keyboard warrior waiting to get his license? 4. A member of the brainwashed public? 5. A closet Holden Commodore SS with police pack driver? 6. Banana man? Fighting the evil majority. 7. A fella who can't afford said R35 GTR? Eastes' will be going cheap 8. The bloke that comes up with all of those "speed kills ad's" and he can't think of anything else. I've got one.... 9. Perhaps even someone who works for MUARC (Monash University Accident Research Centre), who wont get any funding from the state government if he/she/it doesn't spruik the "speed kills" mantra. http://www.aussiemotorists.com/speeddebate/speeddebate.html Read up Ladies and Gents. This egg is hard to crack. Check post #313. Pot Kettle Black?
  19. Let me respond to you, as we are talking about my family.
  20. Fella... I think you missed the point. I was agreeing with you. I even hinted that it was ironic. I even pointed to ..... A forget it.
  21. Improper use of a motor vehicle??? HAHahhahahhahah It's a GTR Bro! They're meant to be driven like that... (Well I thought it was ironic.) All written complaints for this comment can be sent to WHT510 CO:- Skylines Australia... But yes, you make a fair point. I guess if he was pulled over by the local constabulary, then most of the above would apply. Would they have the same fine associated to them as driving 40km/h over the speed limit?
  22. Sorry GTRPowa, but I got a question.. Which laws did he break? I've got: 1. Speeding (Fairly obvious this one....) 2. Possibly dangerous driving 3. ?
  23. Nice to meet you Andrew.
