  1. Price of fuel these days - I'm surprised they don't use a gun, bullets are so much cheaper than chainsaw operating costs. I wonder how many cars they can jack out of a tank of gas?? Someone should dob 'em in to OH+S for not wearing earmuffs and safety specs. Well -- thats what I would say if the situation wasn't so serious. Hope they get the sh*t kicked out of 'em by a greenie rally.
  2. paint stripper and a jet spray [karcher/gerni]. I powder coated mine, more durable, but it wrecks your rims for anything but another powdercoat [cos they get sandblasted].
  3. Front: 14.1 so 14mm thickness without the powdercoat? Base 100mm Top 120-125mm couldn't get any more accurate than that [still on car] 7.5 number of coils. Back: 14.0mm again. Base 100mm Top 120-125mm 7.7 number of coils. Total length 280mm, with a 47mm preload spring included at back and same at front with 37mm preload. ie main coil is 233mm long. Tein HA's if that helps. It rides very firm. I was looking to put the back on the front and get softer back ones, but that isn't going to work.......damn. I'd like to consider your Bilstein group buy, are they any softer than the Teins I have? And will the car sit at the same height, the Bilsteins are 350mm long vs 280mm for the Teins. Does this mean car will be higher???
  4. Yeah, country roads keep your reflexes sharp. I'm pretty Ok with fuel costs on mine, there are only 3 boost settings: slow slower stopped. The last one uses nil jurassic plankton!!!
  5. Should be in the business thread anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Yeah, but its too exe for me.......[not saying its not a good deal]. I'm just going to move the back to the front and get softer springs on the back. Then I'll fit an edfc and have a play. I can do this for under $800, and since I'm not racing i reckon it will do me. I'll just set up for highway, country and town roads and press a button to reset the damping on my tein HA's [well thats the plan anyway]. I don't make millions like you do m8, I gotta go with the pauper pack!!!
  7. The balancing act - where to spend the $$$, car or cruise?? Sorry, cams, [suspension] coils, and edfc won out.
  8. I always thought that the H1 H2 H3 H4 code referred to the bayonet fitting??? Now I need someone to explain how wrong I am............
  9. You'd better baby it for a while then, shorter runs with good cool down periods [not hard this time of year]. Better put a block of wood under the go pedal, just in case you get carried away.
  10. Thanks, pretty much what I was thinking, reckon I'll give it a go!!
  11. Thanks for that BB, and installing???? what is that like???? is it OK, comparable to say your average CD/DVD/speakers, a set of temp/oil/boost gauges or a mobile phone kit etc???
  12. I've got Tein HA coil overs on my '98 gtst, I'm thinking about getting an edfc unit. Does the kit come complete? Or do I have to mod the tops of my shocks. Can a I install it? I'm guessing [because I haven't seen one] that there are four driven motors that fit on each coil and then there is the dash/control unit, plus a wiring loom? Is there a manual/instruction? Can anyone let me know please.
  13. Thanks mate, I'm umming and arring about whether to get them through Fulcrum and CSteering [aussie agents] etc or Nengun. If Capital Steering had been OK I may have used them. But I reckon Nengun will get my $$$ and then I'll find out how it all works. Are you motoring yet???
  14. Ok, whats Capital Steering like? They are the Tein agents. Just looking at converting my HA's to handle a edfc etc Stupid bl##dy agents [Fulcrum] don't have a contact email so I can't ask them. And I didn't email tein jp, I'll leave that as a last resort. I waded through 5 pages of this thread and couldn't find anything, I did a search and it came up blank even used wildcards and still nothing.
  15. You upgrading the radiator on the 200B to a 120Y Oscar? Is that why your so keen to sell it on?
  16. I'll have to see how I'm going, want to put my cams in and tune it, that will take $$$$ and time. I said I was going to the Canberra meet and couldn't make it either, so I'm being careful now. I hate making promises I can't keep, it sh#ts me.
  17. $750 postage included
  18. SI or SII ?? I understand they are different.
  19. Cubes is correct, copper is very easy to heat up, it is a good conductor [electricity, signal, heat]. You can use your mom's kitchen, a gas heater, a camp stove, oxy acet., a wood fire/heater. Just take a bit of bent wire and a cup of water to the pub and use their wood fire........lol.
  20. Safe than sorry???? Its better to anneal the washers absolutely no argument end of story. I'd never never use any copper washer before I annealed it, just doesn't make sense. Do a search on copper anealing and why you should do it on the web. There's plenty of reference material explaining why you should anneal. New washers are NOT ready to be used immediately. If you buy new copper washers, they should be annealed before you use them. They are more likely to fail if you don't anneal them. Apologies to all, for the [sort of] thread highjacking.
  21. Why does everyone think they have to change their copper washers??? Unless they are shim thin from repeated use, just anneal and re-use, in fact they are almost 100% gauranteed to be better than a 'new' off the shelf item that has been: 1. Work hardened during manufacture. 2. Work hardened during transport. 3. Absorbing O2 from the day they were made until you bolted them in place [which enbrittles them]. If you don't believe me, buy a new one, and compare its 'softness' to one you have annealed, the annealed one wins every time. Annealed=heat till cherry red and then squelch in cold water. This means that a GCG doesn't have to cost you that much. Also for the record, my GCG hiflow only cost me $1170 just over 12 months ago. It depends on the turbo model, so not everyone is going to spend $1800 etc.
  22. A seven year old boy was at the centre of a Sydney courtroom > drama this week when he challenged a court ruling over who > should have custody of him. > > The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents, and > the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping > with the child custody law and regulations requiring that > family unity be maintained to the degree possible. > > The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt > beat him more than his parents, and he adamantly refused to > live with her. > > When the judge suggested that he live with his grandparents, > the boy cried out that they also beat him. After considering > the remainder of the immediate family and learning that > domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, > the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to > propose who should have custody of him. > > After two recesses to check legal references and confer with > child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody > to the South Sydney Rabbitohs, whom the boy firmly believes are not > capable of beating anyone
  23. Damn................25th Canberra, 15th Windsor, 29th Sheparton..........methinks it is all happening. I've sort of said I'll go to the Canberra thing, but I may have to do use the scientific approach........eeny, meeny, miney, moe..........I'll have to let you know. PS I can only get out of jail for one!!!
  24. I agree with the general thrust of your idea of a cruise, too many times I've seen such events go from champagne to sh#t because somebody decided they wanted to show everyone how fast they could be. Its SOOOO uncool waiting for the ambulance!!!! BTW I won't be on the cruise anyway, I'll just get to the destination [i'll be coming in via the Barton Hwy]. So I'll see everyone at Cotter [unless plans change].
  25. This is your chance to see what great guys and gals we all are, please come! If you own or are about to own a skyline................all the better
