Exactly, but we need a government that's able to look to the future for that, and to realize that investing in a road system that might be undercapacty for the first 5 years of its service is what your supposed to do, not to upgrade it when it gets to 100% capacity so that it goes back down to 90%.

Saw a black 32 last night, oh, about 9:40pm, stopped at the lights at the corner of Underwood road and Logan road (northbound). Sounded nice (heard it more than saw it)

Price Of Cars Vs Price Of Parts
sneakey pete replied to rtune's topic in RB Series - R31, R32, R33, R34 (1986-2002)
you also have to remember that some of that 130K spend is going to be for labor and consumables, and, as well as that, if you did strip everything off and restore it to stock parts, you sure as hell wouldn't be able to sell all the parts for full price. they're used! -

New Motor Mag. 422kw Maloo. Wtf
sneakey pete replied to R33GOD's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Well that's just it isn't it. We all have our own opinions. You drive what you want, i'll drive what i want. (well, to be precise, i'll save up for what i want to drive, then age to get my opens, then i shall drive it) -
Micro bursts are dam scary. Didn't get anything near as much rain in the south side., but it was enough to fill a 4000L water tank from 2 downpipes.

Never liked the 350 (too curved, or something), but the 370 looks like how the 350 should have been done! -
P-platers And Driving Interstate
sneakey pete replied to Ravyk's topic in General Automotive Discussion
But what about that states License restrictions? Say, if i jump in my dad's car (~105KW's, ~900kg's), which is legal for me to drive on my P-Plates in QLD, could I still drive in in South Australia, even though it breaks the 100KW/tonne mark? Would i also need to do the 90km/h thing? And most importantly, how likely is it for a Cop to give a shit, even if i am, and not give me a ticket anyway? -
The only problem is, i guess, is that next time someone decides that you have a major defect its not going to just be a case of defending a point, its going to be a case of "sorry, there goes your vehicle"

Are you legally allowed to record conversations you have with officers? I might invest in a cheap recorder of some kind, might come in handy down the track..

Heh. Since its not a fixed camera, they aren't (usually, though it is possible depending on placement), directly in line with your direction of travel. Thanks to trigonometry, any reading taken from an agle away from the diection of travel will be less. greater the angle the less it is. Eg, if your coming up to a van, and your 400 meters away, and its right on the side of the road, it'll clock you doing pretty much what you are doing. However, by the time you are right next to the van, your speed towards the van is pretty much zero. Not sure if the cops are allowed to compensate for that error (however, i'd assume that fixed speed camera's have that caculated in automatically)
