  1. Yeah, that's what i'm doing. 26/hour for working shifts that finish after midnight (even if they only finish an hour after it, the whole shift is that much). I don't think they're taking any new casuals at the moment though (already plenty to pick from the Christmas ones. maybe halfway though the year when the pool starts to thin out, otherwise you might have to wait until they do their Christmas intake in October again). I must mention though, the work is mind numbingly dull.
  2. 280HP is what's listed on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not to be trusted for things like that.
  3. ready workforce have been good for me. But there's probably other good employment agencies to.
  4. Nice power, but it'll be interesting to see how long it lasts until something goes pop.
  5. Australia post always has casuals. I know, i'm one of them. pays good, hours are shit, works simple and hard.. Getting in after Christmas is hard though (they have an intake in late October, and keep the best for the rest of the year). Still, hit up employment agency's like ready workforce etc if your just looking for a job to keep yourself fed. Go in, give them your resume, tell them what type of work your willing to do (and trust me, if your desperate, do not limit yourself. there's a lot of night shift out there that's well paid), and you might get some sporadic work until you can find a proper career.
  6. From what i've heard R32 for price R33 for a straight line R34 for anything else. Of course, saying that, exactly how much better at each thing each car is, who knows. Well, not me anyway.
  7. Yes, is a powerful engine, but considering the guy wants it for a daily driver, i don't think he's going to give a rat's arse if i can make 1200hp or not.
  8. There's more to a car than just an engine you know Grip, weight distribution, looks, ride and many other things all come into it.
  9. The question isn't if their illegal in QLD or not. we know that that's s no, just make sure its really secure. The question is: does it count as an engine modification under the new P plater rules?
  10. I don't think that's true. I think you've got it confused with a small German town that, in the last few years, removed all of their roadsigns because they were distracting motorists to much. But that was for a main street and residential kind of thing, not for a dual carriageway or an arterial road. (eg, people wouldn't be doing 200km/h down it even if there wasn't signs)
  11. Or just wait for a year if you can manage it, Considering you've done 2-3 years of your degree and now your wanting a car. Then buy a GTR
  12. Saw a white R33 heading south on the gateway this morning. passed me near old Cleavland road about at 5:30am, plates were QOP 123. Had a SAU sticker too.
  13. I heard on the news that he owns/owned Australia's largest collection of tanks.
  14. Serria's (or Holden drovers, which are just re-baged serria's) are a pretty dam easy car to work on. We've replaced all all of the rubbers in the suspension, new springs, new shockers, new seats, new fuel tank, all ourselves. The only complaint i have about it is the oiling points, which are hard to get to or nonexistent, and the handbrake, which acts on a disc mounted on the rear drive shaft instead of on the brake drums.
  15. The road up range behind esk is a nice one, wide lanes and paved shoulders, though it might be a little to fast closer to the top
  16. Your missing the point of a twincharged setup mate. Its not to increase top end so much as to increase midrange.
  17. How exactly can you tell that by looking at a couple of ordinary quality long distance photographs?
  18. The basic idea is that, (chemistry stuff inbound), when something dissolves in a solvent (eg, salt in water), the salt gets ripped into pieces and put in between the water molecules, but because of the way it does it, the water molecules that are carrying the salt don't actually take up any more volume. Using this principal, you can get a substance, get the hydrogen to dissolve into it without any volume change, and just withdraw hydrogen as needed. I'm not exactly sure how far they've come in the "no pressure" line of things, or if its been more focused (or only useful) in increasing the energy density at high pressures.
  19. There's some interesting and very intensive research going into non pressurised methods of storing hydrogen right now, by dissolving it into another material. holds good promise.
  20. Sure. i'd take a Porsche. Then sell it, buy a gtr and have a little cash to spare.
  21. Yes, its accepted, but its useless unless it really is a real patent. quite a handy system, if you ask me, because it allows small time people to chuck in a patent for something that they've made without having to make a big time and money commitment. and if their idea turns out to be good down the track, they can enact the patent (which then will get checked out and passed if its logical). if their idea is useless, its less money wasted.
