  3. Dropped in the Ohlins DFV coilovers, Hotchkis sways, 350 Evo front camber arms and Eibach rear camber arms. Sitting about 25mm lower.
  4. My lame looking contribution. Didn't feel so lame in the car at 6500rpm
  5. LOL, Actually James I wanted to get some footage of you after I'd done my last run but you were already out there and finishing by the tiime I put down the zimmer frame and got out my Camera.
  6. yep, good day. F**kin' hot but enjoyable nevertheless. I had Jurgen (spelling) take some footage of me going round the second course, man it looks sooooooooooo slow
  7. I went to GoGear. Whilst Ivan was extremely helpful, all the helmets up to $400 didn't have DOT or Australian Standards approval stickers that I could see, Only british standards approval.
  8. Go to Helmet House in East Vic Park. He has DOT, SNELL & AS approved full face for $129.00. OK for events like this, would consider something better if you have aspirations of becoming the next Schumacher
  9. +1 for Bando or Gates. OEM belt sizes are 6PK1175 & 4PK945. You can +/- 5mm but 6PK1185 (+10mm) might be out of the adjustment range of the tensioner.
  10. Hey Brad, where'd you get the shark fin aerial. Did it improve reception? PS oh and wheels look neat, going racing?

  12. I was quoted $199 for a service from James @ Tokyo Motorsports (a.k.a. Autoworkshop) using Motul full synth oil and quality filters. I don't see that as getting sodomised going on price and quality of service items. If you have additional work done e.g. tranny & diff oil change or coolant flush then it's going to cost more, much like it does at a dealership. My V8 Calais standard services cost is around $250 from Holden. Start adding other service items like previously mentioned and the bill goes up pretty damn quick. I've had a bill from Holden at $1200 once, that was Sodomy. I was pissed that they replaced & serviced components I didn't authorise and let the service manager know about it, In verbal AND written form. The Bill was reduced to $800 and my next service was free.
  13. Yup there's forums for car cleaning to, would do you good to sign up and learn what not to do from the right place!!!!!! http://www.detailparadise.com.au/
  14. I got some work to do this weekend:
  15. Yes the "metra" kits are sub par. Get a JDM Double Din kit if you can.
  16. I used the Castrol Edge 5W30 as Flushing Oil. I have to admit the Castrol did seem to free up the engine, smoother and a faster throttle response. But then it is a thin oil after all.
  17. I didn't think "Driver Training" = Skidpan circle work (eg drift frenzy).
  18. Money transfered.
  19. LOL flashy marketing is where GATES fit in...............................................and we're not talking Timing Belts. Your last comment may also be pointless as it is likely the Gates & PE belts come from the one manufacturer, so one of them is re-branding. I've also cancelled my order, not because I don't believe them to be superior but coloured belts tend to look very ordinary after a few months. FWIW I ordered thru here: http://shop.edoperformance.com/power-enter...lts-p-8692.html
  20. LOL I wasn't arguing that it is an envirofuel. You said I was wrong about it being an ecological descision to switch to E85 for the V8 supercars!!!!! I'm not doubting your expertise in the field of racing. All I've stated is the average JC ( who may drive a mazda 3) is not going to see the performance benefit when it's completely negated by the economy of running it. The General Public don't care if YOU or the minority get a 20%-30% performance boost. I think E85 needs to be a lot cheaper per litre before it gains acceptance by the GP.
  21. And FWIW the V8's get a better performance increase from the new soft compound tyres than they do E85.
  22. then I'll make the blanket statement and say YOU are wrong. The press release: So not environment driven then !!!!!!! http://envirofuel.com.au/2008/03/01/v8-sup...se-e85-in-2009/
  23. that's a bit of a blanket statement, which part of my posts are wrong? To summise I've stated so far: Yes you need to tune to suit E85 Yes you will get more power on E85 Yes you will use more fuel doing so Yes the running costs will go up. So what is so wrong with what I said when you just confirmed all of it.......... And let's not forget that I've stated all this in relation to the GP who drive street cars, not race tuned track cars.
  24. yes but on gasolene more power does not always mean you're burning more fuel. Your engine will burn more E85 per Kilowatt than gasolene no matter what the tune, so the cost advantage is moot. And FWIW I don't think the v8's changed to E85 because they get more power out of it, I think it was enviironmentaly driven............pardon the pun
