  1. Ok the 50x4 amp in that unit is not going to cut the mustard if you want to get over the top of your vehicles noise floor ( the sum of all the noises created by the car eg, wind, road, tyre, exhaust, engine etc). Firstly what is your budget? secondly don't bother with rears unless you plan on using them for low frequencies (below 250Hz). If you want to get away with minimal cost but end up with a reasonably good quality system I'd suggest 1) A good 2 way component set of speakers 2) A 4 Channel class D amp (4 x 150watt) 2 x 150watts for fronts & 1 x 300watt for sub. 3) A subwoofer Contrary to your request I've suggested a sub because you won't get the lower frequencies & thump without spending a considerable amount of money on the front speakers and installation. So your budget will come into play as to what you will be able to get, if you want good quality and don't mind getting S/H gear shop at the for sale section at MEA but don't forget to make an allowance for installation: http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/forums...hp?showforum=41
  2. no worries m8, I had a sneaking suspicion you were the innocent party
  3. I saw the smaller of the two Gates Performance belts at supercheap for $24. I'm going to do some ringing around to see if anyone caries a larger selection.
  4. Without dissing your washing style, I'd suggest learn how to wash the car as well. Swirl marks are created solely from the technique used to wash the car, use the right technique and you'll avoid getting them back. http://video.google.com.au/videoplay?docid...+car&hl=en# http://waxit.com.au/proddetail.asp?prod=GG1010&cat=64
  5. No probs Marcus. robbo have you had a quote to purchase it locally? I would be curious to see how much you're saving !!!!!
  6. Oh contrare my freind, the box I rec'd WAS as big as a front bar & skirts. You didn't read my list thoroughly. I could have been transported in it, and I'm 6' 2" and 115kg. My statement stands, $448 is pricey for a sea shipment, by air that would be understandable.
  7. Also undervalueing is not going to help you in a group buy as you'll pay duty on total cost, you'll just have to share the duty cost amongst all the buyers so it would be beneficial to work out the ID once you have numbers, If you avoid duty offer a cashback. Also that shipping quote seems very pricey. I just had a full set of coils, sways & camber arms delivered for $335USD. They came by air, weighed a ton and the box was huge. Oh and I paid no import duty
  8. Yeah I've read that one and tbh may be confusing some of it with the other. Obviously there's no Akebono in Zeckhausens test but there was a comparo elsewhere that I obviously need to find.

  10. Hmmmmmm can't seem to find it, I'll keep looking. FWIW they were pro's not backyard boys. Testing was at a track or a closed airstrip. Plenty of instruments using one car and swaping out the brakes for each group of tests. Tests included straight line braking distance measurements at various speeds, endurance testing, you know all the usual stuff. I remember it stating the Brembo were not that much better than a regular set of oem calipers & rotors .
  11. HiPo Calipers & Rotors don't require warming up unless the rotors are composite. It's the pads you use which determines how the brakes react when cold. There are better options if you want a performance brake kit. The V36 kit are just bigger and not necessarily better than say the Brembo off the 03/04. There was a road test done comparing the Brembo to Akebono on one of the US forums. From memory there was little to gain by getting the Akebono over the Brembo let alone a true HiPo setup.
  12. I can rec Paul @ Tint Tech, he's in Jandakot so depends on your locallity. If you are SOR then he's the man to see.
  13. I wondered when someone would mention that stretch. John at Wheels World uses that strip as a test track to setup suspensions & coilovers, so basically if your not setup correctly you'll bottom out.
  14. I wish he F**k they'd do something about that. If you come into the drive thru from the east there is no other straight line out but over the second worst speed hump in the Perth metro!!!!!
  15. I've used BP ultimate for about 3-4 yrs now so tbh i can't remember what sort of FE I was getting before hand. But then my daily is a 5.7 litre so I try to not think about the 350km per tank I get.
  16. Then you have your nose too close to your arse Fact of the matter is if he'd done his homework he probably would have given it a second thought. He was undoubtedly influenced by the prices at Fabcar and was expecting they ALL have over inflated Perth values. You should learn to engage the brain before employing your fingers to type!!!!
  17. Ditto. I had the car 2 weeks and was offered $45k. I only paid $28k In hindsight....................................................................... ...........
  18. I got 2 fob keys and a burgundy service key w/- mine + 2 alarm "contact" keys. not had to use them yet???!!!!!
  19. I agree, that does have validity but there is a large % of which happen after an ATM withdrawal, they see you take it out. Bank said about 2 weeks to process.
  20. So you get bashed & robbed because you carry cash = Hospital expenses + you don't get your money back. I'll take the bank card & eftpos thanks!!! BTW I was skimmed last week. They withdrew $500 (all i had left in that account) from an ATM in Melbourne.
  21. nice ride, and an appropriate address!!!!
  22. fairly obvious external styling cues taken from the skyline & S2000. Looks the goods but shooting themselves in the foot with a 2litre
  23. Mine were in need of replacing at 35,000kms. Given the age of the vehicle and the fact that in japan the belts do way more kms than the speedo indicates, the belt condition is understandable.
  24. agreed, I've found not all V drivers are forum members nor as willing to acknowledge the kinship. Up until recently the V35 was a bit of a novelty and a rare sight, now I'm seeing more and more.
