Bc Br Series Coilovers For Sale.. Brand New In Box!
mosoto replied to alex.a's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
The rear weight of the V35 is taken up by the springs/Mid link setup. The shock mounting point does not take the weight of the vehicle, only the resistance from the shock with the travel of the suspension. When you combine the shock & spring in a coilover the midlink is removed and replaced with the Toe link (see SPL link in my 1st post). By doing this you are transfering all the rear vehicle weight to the shock mounts, this of course is increased exponentially by body roll & acceleration (rear squat). In racing circles the shock mounts at the body will be reinforced & braced to accomodate, so unless you plan to strip the car and go racing there is absolutely no gain to be had by going true coilover on the rear. I have Ohlins coilovers on mine with the standard rear setup and can get just as much adjustment that any true rear coilover setup can provide for the street. In fact I have plenty of ride adjustment for the track too. -

I would personally reconsider going true coilover on the rear. I know it's been done, but that doesn't make it a good idea!!! The rear mounting points are not designed to take the weight of the car unless you plan to reinforce the area. If you are trying to save weight have a look at what's available http://splparts.com/store/product-list.php?pg1-cid16.html -
Painting Disc Rotor - Question
mosoto replied to Eldubb's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
There's actually a specific product ex USA thats supposed to be the ducks bollocks for doing callipers & disks. It's a brush on product that looks like a spray finish when dried i.e no brush marks. This means you don't have to remove/ unbolt any components. If I find it I'll post a link. Otherwise I've used the Holts Duplicolor stuff before with reasonably good results. -
Not Satisfied With The Bose
mosoto replied to Clikedit's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thanks Tarun. The system is as follows: Speakers - Hybrid Audio Technology or HAT. 7.1" midbass, 3" midrange and 1" tweeter. Amps - Zed audio Leviathan 6x150w one for left side one for right. Head Unit is the Pioneer P99. Subs are Image Dynamics IDQ12's All speaker cabling is Canare. Signal cable is 8 channel Mogami snake cable w/- stinger bullit ends. I've got a 160GB hardrive in the centre console connected to the HU via USB so I rarely use the CD. A link to my build thread on MEA is here. Sorry, it's a members only section so the link will be no good unless you join MEA. but well worth it if you are into car audio -
Not Satisfied With The Bose
mosoto replied to Clikedit's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I wasn't satisfied with it either A pillars head unit (when a work in progress) I purchased the separate AC controls from Infinity USA and fitted them to the stock fascia which has been modified for the single DIN Head Unit. Boot that there is $3.5k worth of installation (labour & materials only -
At normal service intervals for air cleaners would be a start. K&N reccomend 50,000 miles/ 80,000km dependant on normal driving conditions
-
LOL Yeah I think it's straight out of the headers. There's other youtube vids of it complete that probably sound better.

2yr old thread m8...........lolz

:rofl2:You need better speakers
-
Oh and the mounts are slightly different too
-
You need an adapter plate as the bell housings are different BUT the flywheel bolt patterns are the same. The Vk56 & vk45 are the same short block. Don't forget the VK50. Do a search on G35 driver for Vk45 & Vk56, there are a few who have done the conversion including:

Best Bang For Buck On V35 Exhaust Kits
mosoto replied to T4NK's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
By far the best sounding system for the V35. If I had some money right now I'd be all over this http://g35driver.com/forums/engine-exhaust/375764-fast-intentions-intimidator-tru-dual-2-5-tru-dual-3-exhaust.html -

for the budget conscious: http://www.xforce.com.au/products.php?make=Nissan&model=34 -
No doubt. But to spend so much on a conservative tune and not realise the full potential of the turbo setup is in my eyes a WOFTAM.

yes PJ. A good VK56 will cost around $4k so by the time you factor in tranny adapter, ECU & installation it may be a comparable option to supercharging the V. It apparently fits. The only grey area would be making it legal.
-
It will cost you nearly $11.5k just for TT Kit + GST/duties + Freight + installation alone and that is just for the base TT setup and ECU. Start adding Fuel system upgrade, Exhaust, fully programmable ECU, Rods, Clutch kit etc etc and the price starts getting pretty exy. Like I said, for TT you need to do the job properly to get the best out of the setup and provide longevity from the drivetrain otherwise you'll piss your money down the drain. Do the research on G35 driver or 6MT and the concensus is that slap a TT on a stock block and you will eventually bend rods thru neglect or misuse of the boost control. Personally I think displacement is the most reliable means of power. The Nissan Titan V8's (VK50 or VK56) will give you more power, torque and reliability than a SC setup and will probably cost about the same installed.
-
You're quite right BUT it will cost a lot more than $10k to do twin turbo properly.

Tyre Recommendations For 370Gt?
mosoto replied to Alkatraz's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
like these guys: http://www.performan...ction/tireBrand http://www.tirerack....=5&sortValue=22 http://www.1010tires...ry=Summer+Tires +1 on the Advans. I'm running 255/20 front & 285/20 rear and the grip in all conditions is pretty hard to beat. For a daily I would look at these: http://www.yokohama.com.au/ourtyres/tyre.aspx?tyreid=64 -
The V Series Spotted Thread
mosoto replied to funkymonkey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
CB auto coupe coming out of Stratco Canning Vale about 3pm Saturday. Had CF vented bonnet, aftermarket body kit & zorst. Can't say I was diggin' the look or the sound but each to their own. -
here's an option: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/354339-350zv35-lowered-king-springs/
-
yup lower it. A 350z spring/shocks setup will drop you around 30mm which will give you a good stance and can either be cheap or exy depending on the components you use. The 350Z nismo suspension is another option for a little more than a cheap springs/shocks setup. Coilovers will get you "slammed" but will not be cheap to do it properly

He sold the car complete, only had some trim peices left over which I snaffled. I do remember seeing that trim peice on the shelf tho so I have sent you Gregs mob.
