  1. The best way to test is to get a multi meter. the HICAS box in the boot (on the drivers side in my car) has a yellow wire with a green trace, if you unplug the conector and put a probe with a extention wire on it, and put the lead round to the drivers seat. Now you need to pull out the speedo, there should be 3 plugs in the back of it. on the middle plug is the other end of the yellow/green wire. Put the other end of the probe there, and put the multimeter on resistance mode. If you get a reading your wire is fine. if not you have to find where the break is.
  2. you need the base speed CAMS licence?
  3. The HICAS controlles the power stearing, there is a high speed and low speed mode. If the speed wire is cut it get's stuck in high speed mode. I had the same prob, I soldered a bridge wire from the speedo to the HICAS speed sensor wire.
  4. If you cut it near the ECU it should be fine. Cause the wire comes out of the speedo, and goes into a splitter, and one output goes to HICAS, and ones goes to the ECU.
  5. As some of you might have read, one of my AFM's is dead (i've cleaned about 2 tonn of crap out of it, but i think it's been mistreated in the past) I got a price for new RB26 AFM's ($800), I thought at that price it's a good exuse to change ECU and get diferent AFM's. These are the options that have been put forward to me. my idea: Get 2 Nismo AFM's, and a Power FC. my mechanic want's to put a Haltec on with a MAP sensor. if i was going to go MAP sensor I was looking at the Power FC D-Jetro. I've read that MAP sensors on GTR's are a real pain on a road car, so I'm leaning more towards the Nismo AFM option. And if I was going to spend up and get a piggy back MAP Sensor ECU, i'd do it properly with a Motec. Anyone have any better idea's?
  6. That's the same as what mines doing (but i'm still on my first AFM)
  7. I need new AFM's, and i'm not keen on paying $800 for new ones, or getting 2nd hand ones. I'm thinking of getting 2 new Nismo AFM's, and a PFC. I read on here that GTR's and MAP sensors are a real pain for a road car.
  8. are these still avalible? and if so,what condition are they in?
  9. Well the mechanics diag computer comfermed that my AFM's are rooted. What's the price for RB26 afm's?
  10. I hear Fuel Tech in Launceston have done a normal Power FC. You could scan the manual onto a computer with OCR (saves it as a word doc) and then translate the text to english.
  11. who have you tried to get it fitted down here? You wanting to ditch the AFM's?
  12. Source It's dissapointing to see the GTR retire, but i'll still like to see them win.
  13. The car is getting looked at on Tuesday, I have had problems with the AFM's in the past (a clean with carbie cleaner fixed that). If the AFM's need to be replaced will Nismo AFM's plug straight in without a remap. Just thinking for future mods.
  14. Launceston thank you very much thanks for the reply
  15. I've used dad's R33 GTR ECU in my R32 GTR. they have the same part number.
  16. My car is having this weird problem, when I start the car in the moring (or cold) it runs like a dream. But if i drive it for a while, and then stop and leave it for a while (an hour or more), and start it again, it runs like shit. It won't idle, it keeps almost stalling then coming back to life. And when I drive it it will barly rev, and it bucks and carries on, the only way I can get it to go is to pump the throttle. It's hard to explain, but it's a pain in the arse. The ECU is a remapped stocker (no 180k limiter, 8500rpm rev limiter, spark cut instead of fuel cut....) i'm thinking that the ECU dosn't like warm starts, but i'm realy not sure. Thanks
  17. I've just soldered the bridging wire in. HICAS is working now
  18. I have almost fixed my HICAS i'm pretty sure the wire is disconected at the location that i circled. But i can't find where the connector is. I'd like to find it and do it properly, but unless someone knows where it is, i'll solder a bridge in. Thanks

  23. by engine speed signal you mean RPM? Well the Apexi RSM Manual lists shows the pin location of Road Speed Sensor and RPM, for the Skylines, and the Stagea's. http://www.apexi-usa.com/pdf/technicalDocu...ntation/199.pdf

You know the EVO's and STI's are lacking power from jap spec cause Aus gets the UK version, and that is all clogged up for emissions.
  25. Can you tell the diference between the 2 ATTESSA set-ups? The only GTR's without ABS were the Nismo edition ones, they were for Group-A Homoligation.
