Sump is getting close now. Only need some small angle steel to attach the cover.
Gates and baffle insert.
Dummy fitting the insert.
Insert welded in, and pickup modifications complete.
Cover modifed for the new pickup. got to take a plasma cutter for a spin....they are awsome
interesting info about the tyres. Looks like Berry should get his tyres out of Japan.
Bit harsh calling Glenny Alonso though.... although might be worth trying to get it to stick at the next rally event
Since you've done so much damage, why don't you just get another neo from a wrecker and go again. It only died because your oil was on the track. I think a neo with a good sump will last for ages. 90% of rb's die from oil starvation of some description, or a bad tune. Don't see too many die from being pushed too far
I've got a racepak, and it's awesome. The ability to have different screens, and be able to put whatever you want on there, is a good feature, and you still see engine warnings no matter what you're looking at
One of the local circuit racers down here runs these (fastest car in the state), and he says these are by far the best he has ever seen. Stronger, and more durable.
Have any of the teams gone full sliding skirts and shaped floors like the ground effects f1 cars? I know SSE, and Cyber have shaped floors, but i didn't see any sliding skirts.
For the oil system you're best to replace the sensors. Gauges that use a external warning light are the go. Best of both worlds, you can keen an eye on them on the straight, but you get a big red light if stuff goes wrong in the corners (which it will 99% of the time)
I saw the Fernadez ute on speed hunters (did you do the rear end in that?). I was wondering how it didn't qualify as a space frame car...as from the rear firewall back it was. It looks like they just ran a plasma cutter through the middle of the car, and threw out the rear.
On antother note, why would they put a live rear end in instead of the multilink setup?
Superlap is the only motorsport I can think of that is pretty much unrestricted. I think it's great! these days inovation in motorsport is pretty much gone with parity rules, and standardised cars. It's nice to see what can be done with no rules.
One of the tyre dealers down here offered to bring some super softs up, and do tyre fitting etc. He was told that the Jap guys were brining their own tyres, and the compounds they are brining arn't avaliable to you. He has done stuff like this in the past, so he wasn't just getting fobbed off
