Thanks for the kind comments. Don't necesssarily take my gearing as being the right way to go about it. Chris also uses 4th on the entry to southern loop (turn 2) and then grabs third. Me - I'd prefer to get the change out of the way before tackling the corner. As for turn 3, I am pulling a fair few revs on the exit but its not long before you have to brake for turn 4. Maybe shifting to 5th might be a benifit but then again I'm saving the shift time. Don't forget I'm also running std brakes....I'm not sure that I want to be carring extra speed into that braking zone
