  1. I use this gauge and never had problems. However i didn't use that gay plastic line they supplied, used my own 3mm vacuum line
  2. lol ok I could be forgiven for thinking otherwsie! I've had soo much shit pegged at me because of this f**king car. Even today, driving back from the shops, a bogan guy in a VS SS commonwhore gave me shit calling it my mums car, the gayest thing on the road, are you a c0ck muncher (out the window at me). NICE was to be thanked for all your hard work lol HE HAD A VS FFS!
  3. What the feck?? What on earth is wrong with this topic (or fuel pressure question either for that matter)? They were both honest, (IMO) intelligent questions! Sorry I havn't been working with engine tuning for 30 years and know all there is to know, shit, I'm 19. lol
  4. Yeah so did I! Fairs fair, if i did a better search I might've found it my info, but searching R32 GTR on here is pretty ambiguous lol
  5. Thanks guys! Exactly what I needed! (If it really offends anyone, this thread can be closed...)
  6. Shit, sorry for asking FYI I searched here first, and searched "R32 GTR in motorsport" and "R32 GTR ATCC" on Google, didn't come up with much, but i missed thes: http://www.thegodzilla.com/race-history-of-the-godzilla.php Thanks anyway. Note to self: Don't post an even slightly vague question in this section again for fear of getting shot lol
  7. Nah man i was referring to Marlin who said he cant wait for this thread to be buried on page 55... i.e. EVERYONE knows this, im stupid for asking this. Sorry lol
  8. Thanks for the reply man!
  9. gosh darn, sorry for not knowing something! I bet you didn't know everthing at one point in your life too!
  10. Hey guys got into a bit of discussion with a mate the other day, we were talking about the R32 when it came into group A racing in Australia (the aussie touring car champs) and he said something about they raced with only 2wd engaged?? Can you guy confirm when and what types of racing they used 4wd or 2wd? Cos I know they were outlawed in 1993 because they won 4 years straight and the only thing that could touch them was a sierra cosworth... Did the R33 GTR compete in Australia? i.e. DTM, super touring or super GT?
  11. I've used OBX parts before, expecting inferior quality but to my suprise they are a great bit of gear, i only speak for their catch cans and exhaust work (I've used a dump, N/A headers and a front pipe), but it's quality is actually amazing! Very impressed. I'll regularly buy OBX stuff now...
  12. Got a couple videos of the hektic flutter and a sting from 80kms in 3rd doesn't realli do it justice, but the spool noise is pure sex! Puts me back too! pretty stoked with it's performance now, breaks complete traction through 2nd gear and torque steers something cronic through 3rd! 170km/h comes along way too fast!!!
  13. Solid centres are pretty harsh at first, but well worth it after you get used to them - have a great snappy feel. Sprung centres are the other way around, feel good to begin with, but as soon as you want to do some spirited driving, they fall out of favor. I had a sprung centre on my clutch disc, then 6 months later swapped for a solid centre (its only a single plate but same principle applies) Good luck!
  14. Mate this is my dream car! I've been keeping an eye on 32 GTRs for years, good to see them in good condition still, it's a credit to you... If this was in Perth I would jump on this!! Good luck!
  15. Yeah i'd still like to clean it up though. I still can't see why he would've left the tune like that, cos even if the fuel pressure starts to drop, you can still add more fuel and compensate! Thus i would have richer (less lean i should say) A:FRs... Dunno what the limiting factor was. In the mean time, the car is savage. I see 150km/h wayy too quickly, haadrly feels a struggle at all. Soo much torque, i rekon its making an easy 500nm of torque! But its never goo to run things on the edge of their limit...
  16. RB20DET < 7M-GTE < RB25DET < 1JZ-GTE < RB26DETT < 2JZ-GTE
  17. Ok I've had some people on the other forums (in the US) tell me that the tune is very dogey. Yeah it moves around a bit, but never pings and is safe as houses. Andrew has had years of experience tuning cars in motorsport etc, I doubt his tune would be 'dogey' Also I doubt he wouldn't have let something slip if it was potentially dangerous, he would've tried to fix up the AFRs if there was something wrong. with those A:FRs, do I have anything to worry about?
  18. Hold on guys, I'm still not sure whats going on. Cos theoretically, the injectors aren't maxing out (ive already checked the duty cycle, and they done go over 70% even under 10-12psi of boost.) and the fuel pressure is probably only dipping under 40psi witch is HEAPS to still supply a decent amount of fuel with the appropriate pulse width. So which brings me to the question, why didn't my tuner Andrew just increase the pulse width of the injectors? (i.e. add more fuel in) I gotta clear this up before I go searching for any more resolutions, there must've been another problem that he picked up that I didn't understand. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if there's a good 20% of duty cycle to play with, surely regardless of the pressure (assuming its not ridiculously low), there's room for more fuel to go in right?
  19. Ok sure I'll have a look. what should the voltage be? Won't it be hard to measure? I was under the impression that said voltage changes with fuel needs in a returnlessn system, so it would be hard to be in the back seat with a voltmeter, when I need to vary the engine conditions to check! Or am I mistaken?
  20. I see where you're coming from, cos in theory, the bigger pump should need different voltages! According to the guys in the US with the same motor, the walbro is a direct swap. uses the same voltage as the stock one as far as i know. Hundreds of guys have done turbo setups, similar to mine and there's not one mention of altering the wiring at all, that's why i chose the 'bro over a bosch. They are a drop in and (usually) good for upwards of 400whp. Just talked to Andrew on the phone and he said the pump and/or injectors are fine for well over the power im making, so im leaning (pardon the pun) towards the stock in-tank regulator doing weird things and not having enough pressure to support the boost. Either way its not a huuge problem, its only starting to lean out on 13psi and 5500 revs, and on the street in the last 2 days, i havnt seen 13psi yet. The load on the dyno is substantially more than on the street in 1st 2nd and 3rd gears so hopefully i wont have much of an issue to deal with.
  21. The walbro dropped in perfectly, needed no wiring/plumbing mods at all...
  22. Thatt was a great article Jeff, thanks! For now I might focus on fixing that boost curve... 13psi is too much for what I wanted, so I think I'll address that issue rather than the fuel system... The guys in the US who mod these QR25 engines use return setups with fprs so I'll go with that sorta setup of I need more fuel. At the moment Im pretty close to the limit of the stock block and the chassis, I desperately need some suspension mods and a bit more rubber (I've only got 215s at the moment) for some better handling/traction. I'm armed with all these options now, so that's great! Thanks guys!
  23. Yeah Andrew did, you can see the A:FR drop rich just before it starts to go lean, so he tried. I dunno about just then if i read the duty cycle correctly, it was hard to read the computer screen, wrestle with the steering wheel from the torque steer/wheel spin AND watch the road at the same time... Thanks for the help! looks like i might just fix this boost curve and run a flat 10psi, then avoid touching the fuel system at all, cos its a prick of a job on my car entire intake manifold needs to come off just to get to the injectors!
  24. Yeah that's what i thought. I just went for a drive with the laptop hooked up looking at injector shit. Under full boost, they never got close to maxing out, i didnt see them go over 70% even at top revs. @ zebra, i dont really know how big they are mate...
  25. Hey guys. A little issue came about when my car went in to get tuned the other day. It's a GT2860rs turbo, walbro 255lph pump, WRX 440cc injectors and an EMS standalone engine computer. Now from stock, the X-Trail runs a returnless fuel set-up. i.e. no FPR, no return lines. The fuel pressure is governed at the tank, gosh darn knows how... All i know is it has about 52psi of fuel pressure in the rail, and at this 13psi of boost, its dropping. Here's the dyno graph of power vs AFR: (remember that power figure is at 4 wheels, not just 2!) I'm starting to go lean at 13psi as you can see... I'm not sure if my injectors are maxing out, but I wouldn't imagine they would cause this type of problem, would they? WHATS GOING ON!?? p.s. the reason for my wacky boost curve is the dump, its getting sorted soon...
