Na Supra Vs Na R34 Gt Vs Autech
Kinkstaah replied to kubiakGTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well hey at least he hasn't mentioned that 3.5 Magna with the cat b... Damnit! Valid points though.. People do need to realise that if it's P plate legal, it's P plate legal for a reason, and that reason is that it's slow. -
If you must have a sedan..get an evo

If he's happy to Dyno a ride on lawnmower, I doubt you'd get much rage at a FTO

This is going to be the ultimate plan. Currently workshops in Vic are wondering whether or not NISTune can be applied to the NA ECU and keep the wiring like that. I'm not optimistic, but given the fact MV are out of the country for a month, I guess I'll wait and see how that goes as I can't get it shipped there anyway. I did suggest the "Just wire it up and pretend it's a GTT gearbox and use the GTT Gearbox, GTT ECU, GTT Wiring and it should be OK" but coming from Mr Laymans terms, I don't really think anyone wants to listen to me, and tbh when you have an uninitiated customer telling experienced mechanics what to do, I guess its understandable. If they get it working their way, I quite frankly don't give two shits how. I do agree, but I was told this should work, and got a shift kit installed, paid for, and had the trans shipped to and back to a different state under that impression that it'd work fine. I just don't feel like dropping 3-4K on a manual conversion when I really shouldn't need to from a customer point of view. I've bought another car in the interim as a daily to replace this daily (lol) so I'm not entirely crippled. I guess word of warning if you want to do something like this in Victoria, is don't unless you can do it yourself.

Anyone Put 20's On A R34?
Kinkstaah replied to antonio69er's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The above is probably more epic fail than 22's on a 33, or 20's on a 34. Goes to show money can't buy taste -
Haven't played WoW since BC came out.. is there anything new and exciting and majorly different that warrants looking into this (and WoTLK )
-
I just did some maths, it seems this car has been in a workshop for 92% of the time I've owned it. And in the last year, this daily has done 0kms! Luckily with that much driving, it was comprehensively insured and registered the entire time! Boy, I love my automobile!
-
Daily. Spent a ton on a shift kit from MV autos. I generally like the ability to just put it in D when I just want to get around town. Its an option but f**k me its an expensive one especially if it's not necessary
-
Then save the money and buy a flat out stupidly modified GTST i.e, smart people capitalize on other peoples money pits

RB25DET Neo into R34 N/A Auto. (QQ thread in Transmission area)
-
This is potentially becoming a 'solution'. I called MV autos and they said that their shift kit should (love that term) work fine on a GTT Auto box. Like said before, apparently electrically the box is the same, so I 'shouldn't' need to actually get a GTT box to make it work. Another option is sending the car interstate, but at this point the costs are getting rather astronomical. Unfortunately not being technical it means that someone giving me instructions isn't going to work so well, I'd need something so mind numblingly step by step I'd have to pass on to someone who is handy with wiring, skylines, and this specific transmission. Which I'm happy to call, find out, pay for, it just seems this person doesn't exist. Do not attempt, I guess, is the point here, lol.

Na+t Conversion Shop
Kinkstaah replied to Bayside Blue R34 GTV's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Don't do this conversion. It will (one day) end in tears. Unavoidable tears. Tears that will result in regretting you ever doing this. -
Well, today marks the 1 year anniversary my car disappeared into a workshop. I should go there and bring it a cake, or something. Actually, that'd be a really funny way of making a point, lol. Anyone know of any shop that knows their way around R34 Triptronic wiring setups Have tried/Enquired at: RE Customs Status Sabbadin Chasers Racepace Knox Automatics Dr.Drift (going to call the last couple in the sticky today) May have to send the car to MV Autos in South Australia on a truck. Any info that leads to this getting fixed will be rewarded with a carton of a beer of your choice and/or equivalent spirit.
-
Yep, thats what I'm going to get them (RE Customs) to do. I've also heard there's plenty of times this has happened, though noone ever has any details of the workshop that has successfully completed this. If someone has a name, and I can confirm that name so I can call them I'm happy to get the car sent there on a truck. Even if it's interstate. I believe the issue is they couldn't get any signal from the TCM, or rather, a signal that they could interpret. Apparently its possible to bypass the seperate TCM entirely, and just set it up as you would with a normal GTT Auto, with the integrated TCM in the GTT ECU. Unfortunately there's a lot of 'apparently' and 'should' and 'I saw it once' and there seems to be no instructions on this anywhere, or at least in Victoria, lol. The only info I have about the box being dead is, well, it wasn't dead when I was driving the car around for the whole month or so I drove it, and it wasn't dead when I drove it to the workshop. They arent even sure what combination of wiring they are even using now, given the fact they have the entire looms for GT, GTT Auto, GTT Manual and ECU's to match them all. But after a year, I doubt their enthusiasm to finish the job is sky-high. So I live vicariously through this forum.
-
Wish I had an answer for this, the most detailed response I got was "its f**ked" and that they had stripped the car down to get access to all the wiring to no avail ..and noone else in the state wants to try their hand at it. Bit sad about it all, after spending a large amount of cashola on a shift kit and such on the box when I was under the impression that this would all work, a manual conversion to get this going pisses me off when I know that it should be 'doable' as opposed to dropping huge cash for a crap "i dunno lol /give up" solution.

Na+t Conversion Shop
Kinkstaah replied to Bayside Blue R34 GTV's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Word of warning, and a big one. I could make it bigger but I'm disheartened and demoralized as it is to type bigger. Do not attempt to swap a RB25DET Neo into a N/A AUTO skyline in Victoria. I realise this thread is about GT+T, which will be fine (until you get EPA'ed, and will be owned sideways with an undrivable car unless you remove the turbo) but a natural idea of "why not just put a turbo engine in?".. you will find there are no workshops in Victoria who will complete/take on this job. Trust me, I know from experience, stuck for a year with a car that's had a swapped engine that looks like it'll never work with the auto box. The best ultimate advice is to sell the car before you spend money on a GT+T and get EPA'ed, and buy a turbo car. Don't do anything else. -
That I don't know, I had thought about it. The problem is the workshop it is at doesn't do NISTune and there aren't many (any) workshops in Victoria that I have found that have ever, ever put a rb25det neo into a R34 N/A Auto. Having no knowledge on it, I'd imagine the original NA loom won't work for the new engine. I'm willing to pretty much do anything at this point, the only info I've found about it in a year is posted by 666DAN who I might just pay to fly down and fix it, lol.

New Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept
Kinkstaah replied to dark-knight's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Car design these days seems to be set in "ITS 2010! ITS THE FUTURE! CARS SHOULD LOOK LIKE THEY ARE FROM THE FUTURE!" Ugh. -
R34 Coupes (and GTR) have indicators as the orange 'inner' round light, by design, stock, 100%, etc. R34 Sedans, the indicator is different, seperated item meaning the "Oo oO" lights are all brake lights. OP must have a sedan, and just merely saw a R34 coupe for the first time

that x1000000000000000000000000000000000

It will make the triptronic box shift a lot faster than it does normally. The rest of the operation should be very much the same. You can't get much clearer than that

It's fair enough, and tbh I reserve the right to mock those in the field of internet marketing, lol. I'd respect the lucky kid more.
