  1. so you have a propper cat? they do the usual mic test for exhaust? hmmmm never seen roadside testing in NSW
  2. correct me if im wrong though CATS work when they are up to a certain temp, and will also retain a lot of heat, Hence when temp tested if its cooler or same as the rest of the system then its obvious there is nothing there, When I got EPA tested for noise he did check the CAT was in the correct place, Not sure if you would be allowed to go putting them were ever you like, What would insulating the exhaust do ahead of the cat?
  3. Did they test your CAT?
  4. seriouly cant clik anywere without http://www.erd.com.au/ popping up in a new window As i cant quote....Wedge R34gtr- Thats the maximum fine. Though there has never been a case of someone reciveing anywere near that. Not somthing that can be roadside tested either, Lots of talk about temp sensor guns, But how accurate is a reading going to be when your cat or De cat has the stock cover welded around it?
  5. Cant quote anyone on this page without it linking to Elite racing website, Anyway.....Do you find thoes 100cell cats are a restriction? They dont pass emmisions so why have anything at all
  6. Really dosent help the cause
  7. have 2 z32s mate, $150 ea. sydney
  8. within reason, just becasue its 110 dosent mean you can drump the clutch at 5k and chirp gears till 110. i think its neg driving for breaking traction in the above manner.
  9. Meh, if i can drive a RB26 with out all the hype and attention that comes with it then im more then happy to do so. I hope everyone thinks my cars a GTS If i went the GTR route, First mod....DE BADGE! Only people who actaully know a GTR will know what it is. dosent need a badge to prove it in my books.
  10. haha why? Nothing to do with a GTR....Its a GTS4.... wouldnet call a rb25/30 a tryhard R31 owner would you?
  11. stock standard ( looks) gts4 with a 330kw Rb26 FTW!!!
  12. head over to the oil section, pretty sure someone has outlined exactally how much goes were. Anything dot4 and above is good, GLS rally have some fully syth and good prices. will need two bottles. Dont mix dot 4 with 5. ect
  13. hmmmm. I used to love my NRMA free roadside ( they do this for the frist 2 years of your licence, Now its $88 or something. I want one iwth unlimeted towing, Good for when taking hte car workshop to tuners, ect ect, would pay for it self 10 fold
  14. I agree there is such mixed opinion, as most of you know i could not decide between -9 and -5 for months. Let alone knowing how my -9s are going to actaully perform when complete. I Read every dyno sheet for both, Even called a handfull of tuners and spoke to them first hand. And that confussed things even more with them saying they could get -5's on just a quick as the -9s and have much more room for top end later. But yer as much as results vary its to hard to compare them agaist something becasue nothing is standard and everoynes build/Tuner is diffrent. as long as your happy with your results then i dont see a point in stressing about it. Though if your way below the acg like you are, Then theres a reason for that which more then likey can be fixed.
  15. Not to sure about that, I would think not. Only becasue there are ATTESSA ets and ets PRO which is equipt in the V spec GTRs. the std versions will send signals 10 times a second were as the PRO version send about 100 times a second.( not exact numbers but you get the idea) Not to sure how these controllers work, But unless it replaces the whole ECU then signals will be getting sent at the same rate would they not? Though if they do change signal speed then it would be a great upgrade for std gtr and GTS4 that have basic attessa.
  16. true, but i think id rahter pay a bit more to deal with an australian company, If anything goes wrong good luck contacting people in japan/china. I agree they are pricey, But when youve spent 25K+ on mods what another 700 odd for peice of mind that your readings and warnings are as accurate as can be. Ive done plenty of searching for a cheaper option though none seem to stand out. Another one to look into is http://www.flyn.com.au/saber%20gauges.htm there a lower end guage like autometer, But made in Australia.
  17. $700 delivered from i think the only australian DEFI distributer. Thats for the single DIN trippe guage cluster. ( im not keen on dash mounted ect)
  18. http://www.rocketindustries.com.au/ looks to be the only australian distributers for autometer.
  19. dont like the peice of mind sitting on half decent rubber? I sure do
