  1. Glad bells line of road was in here. Had to head out to bathurst from syd last weekend, what a ridiculously fun road that is! I was doing it in an '04 auto corolla too, with boot full of luggage and 2 passengers (plus driver) so it really struggled up some of the hills. But man, what a road. So much fun!
  2. Not sure about holdens, I've mainly looked into the magna ones. The vapour injection system is nothing like the oler mix systems. And the liquid injection systems have significant power gains. To find an injection system you'd be looking for someone selling a car who has spent 4k on the conversion (before the rebate),, but I have seen a few camrys and magnas on ebay.
  3. Lol, march superturbo?? More seriously though, if you just want economy, as in dollars saved. Keep a lookout for thing's like camry's and magna's etc on ebay and carsales that have had an LPG conversion with a vapour injection system. They get similar and sometimes better economy but the fuel you're using is less than half the price. Just a thought. A newer, smaller car would be better through the twisty bits.
  4. Undo sump plug, go have beer, cup-of-tea, have a chillax, change filter etc... Then do up plug and keep going. Prolly would skip that step. Some people swear by it, but it's not necessary if you're using decent oil and changing it regularly. Not all carbon deposits in the engine are the "devil", any deposits for example smoothing out imperfections in the cylinder lining will be removed, which will subtract from engine performance and longevity.
  5. Should have mentioned above, Jacque Villeneuve won the 1997 World Championship.
  6. Gilles Villeneuve was Jacque's father. The crash that killed him is on youtube, pretty horrifying stuff.
  7. Is it worth replacing it with more of the shockproof?
  8. If anything, f1 is more about luck than driver skill. Luck that people ahead of you make mistakes or have failures, luck that you're in the right team, luck that the car is setup better than others, luck that your teams car is set up better for you then your team mates. In the end, the points don't lie.
  9. ^ To be honest that thing could be a lot of fun to drive, but it'll probably weight round a ton so isn't going to be breaking any power-to-weight records.
  10. ^He may just be. Gotta say, good thing he was caught. That's not like someone missing a speed sign or accidentally edging up to 45, that's reckless endangerment of kids' lives.
  11. That's interesting. Try unplugging the stock solenoid power source, that should give you your wastegate pressure.
  12. Lol! Their competition is the mx6 bahaha. Might not be a bad p-plate car though, doesn't one of the engines put out 200hp?
  13. Quite the opposite, I think I've read builds of the VH45 and VQ35 on sau. It's fun to experiment, as long as you realise the massive money sink that comes with uncharted waters. I think MBS206 is currently putting an ls1 into an r33 (might be a different skyline?). Of those 3 engines, from what I've read the VH45 is the way to go. But I'm not sure on aftermarket support. A twin turbo VQ35 has been done a bit before too, popular in the US I think. Anyways, someone way more knowledgeable than me is about to come in and give you some much more useful info
  14. Damn, everything I wanted to say was mentioned lol. But I have to reinforce, if you're not in complete control of the car, slow it down. It's just not worth it if things go wrong. Bad tyres, poor tread, low pressures, all make a pretty big difference. But there's nothing more important than driving to the conditions.
  15. ^Was that the thing on top gear?
  16. Bahahaha that's hilarious, and so true! Also a lot of the members on here are genuinely trying to better their car, doing mods properly and fixing little bits and pieces that go wrong with age.
  17. Edward Lee? That name rings a bell. I think he's been mentioned in a few threads. Worth a search I think, though to be honest I can't really remember
  18. Don't suppose O'Brians can do it?
  19. So what exactly did you do? Could have been a mixup somewhere?
  20. Are you sure you didn't disconnect your actuator hose? Sounds like it's just boosting infinitely. Do your best to keep it below 12psi until you get the problem sorted, I'd be babying it to be honest...
  21. Haha, that's awesome terry!! I really look forward to seeing the footage from this (and hopefully one day will be at one of these days)
  22. I'm guessing that for non Power FC related functions it's probably work, I wouldn't go trying it though. Esp the ecu reset, might muck up... something lol. Yep yep, 55 means all is good.
  23. Those do sound like cheap tools...
  24. We do need to cling on to some hope, that's for sure. Only 8 races to go
