  1. 2 step + trans brake = perfect! No problems! No. (In that order)
  2. $3800 is bang on the money for an all billet innards transbraked C4. 800hp is a walk in the park for these boxes. Sounds good mate. Let me know how you go.
  3. I believe it's 4.34:1 Someone will confirm though.
  4. You should realise that this isn't the place to be rubbishing each other's businesses. If this thread continues in this vein I will close it and issue warnings. I should also point out that SAU's only allegiance is to the Business Traders on this forum and to a certain extent, those businesses which sponsor the clubs in each states. Thank you.
  5. I have the following box from Protrans: Ford C4-C10 Transbrake: High Performance 3 - Transbrake reverse shift valve body - Vasco 26 spline input shaft - Roller bearings throughout - Raybestos bands and clutches - Kolene steel forward clutch pack - Special heat treated race steels high gear - Billet race servo - New 4 pinion low drag Billet planetary (Optional 6 pinion) - Modified high gear drum for high RPM - New rear servo piston - New Sprag assembly - Race modified lubrication oiling system - B&M alloy pan with Hi-Flow TroqueFlite filter - AN-6 fittings
  6. You can get both forward and reverse pattern C4's in full manaul operation. The difference occurs if you want to use a transbrake. Fred's transbrake valvebodies are reverse pattern, billet, and super tough. The converter is too loose for my setup but that's not a measure of it's quality - more a case of us not tuning the car with a manual first to discover the exact characteristics of the engine combination. You usually have to chase the converter a bit in turbo cars (especially turbo&nitrous cars) so i was prepared for this. My converter will go back to TCE to be tightened after the next street meet i go to so we know exactly how much to tighten it up by. I thought that losing 2 gears and a clutch was going to make the car less fun to drive..... ....oh how wrong i was I couldn't be happier with this box. It's worth noting that Fred replaces every bearing in the C4 with a needle roller bearing for added reliability and longevity. Something which not every gearbox builder does.
  7. I currently run one of Fred's Stage 3 C4 auto's behind my RB25DET and love it to death. Fred is a trans guru and a top bloke to boot! He is also an agent for TCE converters and deals with them every day of his life so the service you receive from them is excellent too. (as opposed to dealing with TCE directly). If you'd like to discuss it, send me a pm or email. Cheers, Adrian
  8. I think that just about says it all, doesn't it?
  9. Ordered this morning - next day or so mate.
  10. Champion effort - good work!
  11. First post edited to include extra items.
  12. I thought www.braidedlines.com.au had the strangle-hold on ADR approved lines?!?! Just a vague memory.
  13. Well done.
  14. Just don't sell it too soon and buy a 4x4, freaky-boy!
  15. Still available if you like.
  16. Just got back from Summernats/EPIC/ACT....very tired. Saturday was easily the most packed I have ever seen the event - some good cars to see especially in the Top 60 hall with the '41 Willy's and blue twin turbo mustang.....porno! I cruised around on the party bus for 3 or 4 laps and saw the only SAU'er with his mouth open drooling over a big set of boobies on the bus. The pic will make you laugh... Will post tomorrow. Loved the widebody 32GTR with 315 rubber under the rear! 724hp from a stock stroke (88mm bore) RB26. Awesome stuff and Unigroup tuned to boot!
  17. HKS/Nismo = makes everything for every car Jim Berry = exclusively makes clutches and has done for close to 30 years That's the difference. I don't understand why people feel the need to buy a brand name component when it isn't polished, annodised or billet and you'd never see it if it was
  18. Not initially but eventually. Sometimes not at all if they're worn which a lot are.
  19. Call me when you're down there, Ben.
  20. Click Here if you have no idea what people are talking about.
  21. I remember that back when Ghosn started with Nissan and killed off the 'enthusiast cars' (a good idea to keep Nissan afloat) that part of his strategy was to not build any JDM-only cars. For instance, each car designed and built would be for every world market and not just Japan...(Kei crap aside).
  22. dl'ing now - will continue to seed.
  23. Looks like the roof had to be cut away to get em out - was just on Ten news.
