  1. It's running right now, mate. Just needs a tub...bad.
  2. Went for a drive yesterday to clean the tune up a bit so that it's driveable and not emptying the fuel tank at idle. Ended up throwing out a set of brand new plugs as the base map is so rich they fouled and wouldn't clean up no matter what we did. Put a new set in ($18 for all six ) and with the changes to the fuel map it idled beautifully. Return to idle was a problem though and so with some more tweaks to the decel/overrun settings, it finally stopped stalling on the back-off and now returns to idle as it should. Big thank you to my mate Kon for his help and use of his laptop and skills. I'll put some kays on it and then take it to the dyno as soon as time permits. Also, took my rego label into the workshop to apply to the windscreen before driving it for any distance and laughed when i saw the date - October 13. $1100 to register it for a total of 6 weeks potential driving. Ouch!
  3. There's 220kW difference between the 33 and 32 and you're right that the 33 should run easy 120+mph but 220kW does not equal 9mph. Your 32 doesn't make the power you've been told it does or it makes it so painfully late in the rev range that you can't get the most out of the combo. 20+ mph can't be explained away in gear ratios.
  4. 550kW is more like 150mph, mate. Something is vastly wrong with the dyno figure or with your car once it gets to the track. Wheel spin plays three-fifths of bugger all difference in mph figures and can sometimes increase the final number so don't look to traction to find your missing horsepower. If you're lighting up the tyres when you leave the line, lower the rpm's at which you drop the clutch. Play with tyre pressures a little (try dropping the backs to 15psi for the same burnout procedure) and check to make sure that it's not just the rears that are spinning. If it is and assuming you're back in 4WD mode, your transfer case may well be on the way out and not sending much/any of the torque through the front wheels. Best of luck.
  5. Spot on with other Dyno Dynamics chassis dynos run in the same fashion.
  6. A correctly operated Dyno Dynamics chassis dyno in the appropriate shootout mode will register pretty well spot on regardless of weather conditions etc. Making sure it's operated correctly is another thing all together.
  7. Forget dynos then. The calculations I have used above take trap speed and weight and convert it to engine horsepower. I then converted that to rwkw. It could well be the case that this car makes 240-250kW at the back wheels but for this to be the case, it would relate to one or more of the following: a/ weigh more than the 3350lbs I've allowed for b/ have had a non representative run on the track c/ been racing on a ridiculously bad track d/ have had a schmuck behind the wheel Don't get your knickers in a knot over chassis dyno figures. The big, black dyno never lies.
  8. Lith, if the record gets bashed by Mark, that will spur the HT boys on even more. It's great when records get broken and the recordholder is still in the game.
  9. It has been funny as hell. I started off with spanners and progressed to ratchets (I'm only allowed the quarter drive because I snap stuff) and then I moved on to drills and other power/air tools. You should've seen the look on Stu's face when I walked past him holding the air hacksaw!!!! HAahahahahah!!!!
  10. Yes. Make that very clear. My car is a balance of excellent (Stu) and bodgy-as-all-fark (Me). The latter is constantly being corrected and turned into the former.
  11. 114mph for a car weighing about 3350lbs is 370-ish-hp (engine) or 275kW (engine). I reckon your car is making about 220-230kW at the rears.
  12. When we were nearly ready to fire it up, Stu asked me what needed to be checked. I responded, "Pretty well everything I've touched with a spanner." Well derrr!!!
  13. And just in case people don't know what intake Stu's referring to, check this out for automotive porn!
  14. It'll be at the track on the very first meeting after it's been tuned. (Which will be before Stu, Ben and Paul)
  15. It will only need the little numbers at the bottom. Damn dinosaur!
  16. In. Adrian / Nissan / Shitter
  17. Yep. I can already taste the cold beverage and hear the jingling of the shiny twenty cent pieces.
  18. They go in no problems. Just use an RB bell housing on a 6-cyl Glide case with an adaptor to suit. The standard 5-speed is a bloody massive box and Glides, C4's etc are very small by comparison.
  19. Saw it in the workshop this morning and it looked awesome!
  20. From a user on here who binned it - slo32
  21. My sentiments Ed Zackery.
