  1. Sorry, but if the plan is to eventually rebuild either way, to run 10's you should just bolt a nitrous kit onto the completely stock motor and run it at 14psi on the stock turbos with a good tune on a pfc and some drag radials. $1500 for the ECU, $600 for the tune, $1200 for the drag radials, $1000 for the nitrous kit including a bigger fuel pump, $1000 for the clutch, $15 for a boost controller, (hey this IS sau after all and you're all cheap kents!) Adds up to under $6k If it dies, rebuild it then. Not before.
  2. I can see the new ecu being about...oh, i dunno....88 times better. And doof, it doesn't count if your A/V system draws 8kW to produce 3kW in noise!
  3. Hardly a new idea champ. Just a new substance to make the repair. Search is your friend.
  4. Use 10/60 then. What photos?
  5. How many yellow GT3's can there possibly be in the area?!
  6. I'd recommend Joe Gibbs run-in oil for cam bed in and tuning and then change it once it's tuned. Job done.
  7. You can vary it a bit if you like but it's not essential. This is one of those topics where everyone has their own idea and arguments form at the drop of a hat. The key is not to let it idle or lope along at low revs. The best analogy I can think of is that your engine runs more smoothly at revs than it does at idle. Higher revs idle (3-5krpm) keep the cams turning smoothly and 'true' to their centre and also keeps oil pressure/flow up to the valvetrain and this is what you want.
  8. That's an incredibly general statement and I very much doubt it is backed up by anything resembling a fact.
  9. Ask your engine builder.
  10. John, I just can't believe it! This is an awesome price for the car/trailer setup. I'm just floored that you're getting out of it.
  11. Bed the rings in with constant revs (no idling) for about 10 mins and then throw it on the rollers and tune it once everything is up to temperature (which it will be if you've just fired it up and run it for 10 mins. If things were going to get loose after 1000kms/5000kms/10000kms, they just weren't done up tight enough. Start it, tune it, race it. That is all.
  12. Retard. Viagra.
  13. Once more you fags. This time in English, please.
  14. They add Methanol to ethanol to make it undrinkable, not petrol. This is what you would know as Methylated Sprits or Denatured Alcohol. It used to be about 10% Methanol that was added to Ethanol. Top Alcohol as a drag racing class is bloody awesome and is run in many countries including Australia.
  15. The more time you spend covering the race distance, the more time the car has to accelerate. I've always sixtied harder on lower terminal speed passes. Look at it another way, it's very rare the your PB ET will be on the same pass as your PB TS for a given state of tune (engine, driveline, etc).
  16. It's maths, dude. If your engine builder cc'd the head you can work it out. The piston manufacturer should publish the cc of the dish/reliefs in the pistons and you know the bore and stroke.
  17. Looks like they once made mention of their product containing a trademarked product and didn't pay for it but it was quickly settled. Interesting reading though.
  18. Couldn't care less about outlandish and unproven claims anyone makes, including the manufacturer but the independent testing is pretty amazing. Can't see it happening and equally un-fussed. It does taste bloody great though!

  20. The role of a professional operator at a dyno competition is to eliminate as many variables as possible. The thing people forget is that a dyno is a scientifically designed and constructed piece of precision equipment and by far and away the biggest variable is THE CAR ON THE ROLLERS! You can regulate tyre pressures, gear ratios, ramp rates, dyno modes, corrections etc all you want but the biggest variable will ALWAYS be the car. Period.
  21. There aren't that many parts. You can pull the fuel pump blade fuse from the row in the boot to disable the pump if you like but I've never bothered.
  22. Got my tickets yesterday. Me and three others heading to the Sunday matinée. Should be great.
