  1. Yeah that'd be why - most just swap the entire diff. lol - Is there ANYONE with a v-spec who hasn't gone through that agonising experience?
  2. Catering update thus far below. If you have not advised, do not forget to do so! Saturday r31nismoid matlowth ripper_bravo Snowman acsplit Odium FINER6 Sunday r31nismoid matlowth ripper_bravo Snowman acsplit Odium FINER6 llama_au vetter2769 Tony Olsson & Robyn blah_blah Brett SS Borci88 miniwog Richo If this is a sign of what SAU-Vic motorsport is going to be like this year - it's going to be a eff-ing big C/Ship!!! NICE!
  3. BAM - 75% full in under 2 hours. Nice!
  4. Entered. God bless SAU-Vic member priority entry - gonna suck if you aren't a member, looks like this is gonna sell out fast And as for CAMS / AASA - just get CAMS, you can use it at AASA events ... So you never have a problem with will/wont it work
  5. I just put down Modern 2WD for the meeca site lol. f**ked if I know TBH... I just put down the laptimes section though, I think that would hold far more relevance.
  6. N1 'upgrades' don't really fit into the word 'upgrade' as it's almost a backward step using out-dated tech and the only average-at-best performance you get from them. R34 N1s however, good upgrade - but they are a "-7" turbo anyway really, so just buy new and don't worry about it
  7. ^ Do yourself a BIG favour - and research. -10s are the WORST possible selection you can make. Rubbish turbos, far too big. Totally agree. $200 turbo "upgrades" forget it - it's $2200 for a set of -9s or -7s or don't bother spending the money. The N1 / bush journal setups are 1980s design, lack performance that has been well and truly superseded by more modern turbos and the extra response, power and performance is worth the money. Turbos are the most important part, don't skimp on them or regret it forever.
  8. Anyone that is entered and/or spectating - Please post up to confirm you are coming. Also if you are doing a single day OR the two days (there is Prac on Sat some are attending). I need to know for catering purposes for lunch of Steaks/Skewers and the like over the two days. Thanks in advance!
  9. Yep you need CAMS. As you've signed up as SAU-Vic, you can now get CAMS... You'll need to email [email protected] .... Ask Anna nicely if she can hurry it along for you (or even email you your member and post the card out a week later), and then apply online @ CAMS website. Should be able to sort it by next week if you get on it fast. Then you have your CAMS cards, Club Membership card - and round and round you can go with us You'll obviously need to meet the supp reg requirements too (fire ext, helmets blah blah). So have a read there.
  10. The friction modified is just an oil additive, so oil change (or more likely two) should just flush it out And yeah the Nismo GT-Pro has settings, you can back them up or down depending on what you want. If not a Pro, it'll just be a case of altering the diff plates
  11. Looks like you sorted yourself haha. Good-o. Come down to Philip Island on the 8th (some of us are there on the 7th too). Should be at least 10 or more of us by the looks of it doing the round-roundy thing. You going to enter as well?
  12. Also to note the half shafts are different lengths from v-spec to non-vspec. Most people get a R33 GTR diff and shafts - then just bolt it in. So just something else to remember/think about. I'm not sure on a sensor change though? I cant recall mine being altered when it was done. But as with Paul - once you put a proper diff up front, the rear A-LSD goes into total meltdown and doesn't work.
  13. Absolutely unbelievable it wasn't any help... I mean it clearly shows you how much various turbos will make. Then once you work out how much power you need to run a 13s pass though, you realise a stock turbo is capable of that and you still need to do a lot more research. Hence - Thread closed. Do some proper research first.
  14. I'm in the market for a new chair/desk etc. Anyone using something pretty good at home? I've got a little bit of room to play with, and the chair has gotta be comfy Post up what you have (and if you can, where you got it!) Cheers
  15. I'll be there at least Sun, trying for both. Squires Loft Nunawading BBQ will be in attendance again this year for Motorsport Rounds where possible
  16. Hey Lance. Welcome Some of the R35 guys that track are usually in attendance at all/most rounds of the SAU-Vic Championship: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/452502-2015-motorsport-championship/ It will have all your track needs covered for the year without a doubt. Also the club runs lots of meets, cruises and all that jazz with quite a few R35 owners as members there. So for motorsport - Join up to SAU-Vic (you need to get a CAMS license for PI/Sandown) and come along for some like minded fun and plenty of advice from those that have done it all before You could even bring your VF GTS if you wanted, one of the regular track attendee's has one and I usually punt around in my R8 at the moment - plenty decent spread of cars and people There are also some drive days a few of us are looking at doing at some point too, such things usually discussed at track events and the like
  17. It's event dependant. They vary, but for the most part standard track day stuff applies (fire extinguisher, helmet, roadworthy car etc).
  18. Gotta laugh that less than 24 hours later - they've all been removed from the site. If that is not an admission of outright guilt, who knows what is. Take screen shots next time
  19. Yep will be @ the Island. Should probably get a thread going for it
  20. No that is not what I said at all.
  21. The stalling and AFM reversion can be two different things. 1. Stalling due to ATMO venting BOV while running AFM - this can be tuned around. ECU expects air to return, it isn't - so car stalls. 2. Reversion over the AFM - AFM can be too close to the turbo, reversion isn't just the recirc of the BOV and air directed in the wrong way but being to close to the compressor wheel where there is a lot of turbulence. Simply moving the AFM further away will fix reversion over the AFM. Hell I've seen 500rwkw+ single setups with AFM working fine, but the AFM is as far away as possible from the intake. Moving the AFM however will not fix the stalling issues that relate to BOVs, that comes to the tune. Also remember factory BOVs leak at idle, hence they MUST be plumbed back. GTR BOVs do this as well, reason being is to reduce compressor surge in lower RPMs. People that have changed to aftermarket BOVs on GT-Rs and running larger twins - have at times have surging in low RPM/high load scenarios. This is partly the cause as there is no bleeding of the air (the second being the factory piping, but thats another discussion).
  22. Take a pic - show us how far away the AFM is from the turbo inlet. A simple rule of thumb is have the AFM as far away from the turbo inlet as possible, then you have no issue. If you can move it even 5-10cm, that can be all the difference that is needed. Hence most people with singles and AFM is pretty much as close to the headlight/guard as it can get. Totally wrong.
  23. Not overtly cynical - Import, male driver - if you are in the wrong places at the wrong times expect to get a defect. They can't notice turbos, so dont stress. It's simple - you can make near on 400rwkw and it will only take 45mins to be "legal" (by swapping stock parts on), if you go about your modifications intelligently.
  24. Strange, gmail isn't blocking any of mine - and usually it will. Do you get any other auto-emails with links? Perhaps it is thinking it's a un-safe email just because it is including a link?
  25. Please read the GB rules and update as per the rules or this will be closed
