  1. oh BBQ no problem fellas, having some decent food makes a good difference to morale lol
  2. That's unfortunate Lee Seems some had a great day, others the total opposite. Good fun overall none the less, good day to come up for some laughs from my point of view
  3. No doubt a few of us saw that this morning John Sounds very interesting indeed as a potential option for a kick-starter type of day.
  4. Ah... CAMS cost ratio is cheaper per member. Less members you have the higher than cost ratio for everything, not just CAMS affiliation SAU-Vic isn't facing a decline in membership, not sure where you got that information from - it's stayed steady between the 250-300 member mark for 10 years. The lack of identity was more that there are lots of people new to track days, and don't know who the other person is. Something that was easily fixed with a couple minor tweaks I mean you can't just kick someone out because they no longer own a type of car, over time demographics evolve. You either evolve or you become extinct. I guess for this reason alone, is why SAU-Vic (and other larger organisation) have thrived and the exclusivity based clubs have come, lived for a few years and then fallen off, taking members funds with them. Not saying that happens every time, it just has more often than it hasn't. Of course there are a few exclusive clubs that come to mind that have survived, but they've also been around for 20+ years in each instance. Some of those exclusive's actually altered policy and opened doors some 10 years back, very smart move IMO, those clubs read well ahead of the play. Totally agree with each club can indeed provide benefits. What is better than each club? One bigger one where everyone benefits more Well, ex-owner, currently. Even whilst having it though, didn't really change my outlook... Did certainly change my bank balance though hahahaha Gotta start somewhere and that's what SAU-Vic does best, particularly when it comes to modifying your car and then taking it to skidpan, track etc Doesn't matter what you have, if you're giving it a go that's better than not. Just going to any grade of SAU-Vic Motorsport event, you can pick-up so much quality information from people that have done it for 5-10 years (or more). And often established workshops are there lending a hand which is always great.
  5. Android version seems OK. Although the app "unexpectedly" stops some 30-90mins after i last use it, just a pop-up. It's ok whilst using it, so not too big of an issue on that side of it. Must be iPhone related perhaps? Would stand to reason given that was recently changed/added back to the store and I think new version. No doubt C will look into it when he can
  6. Bloody Costco haven't had them for ages.. I know a few people that have been checking once a week or so for a few haha, you're not alone in the want for one of them
  7. No offence but it's not legitimate, it's a bunch of people with similar interests, an interest people share none the less There is so much work in setting up a fully fledged club - NPO creation (Non Profit Organisation), bank accounts, club constitution and processes - CAMS affiliation and then $500-$700 fees - Running annual general meetings - Elections and accountable committee structure - Yearly financial submissions, annual reports, record keeping for all monies in/out etc All of this stuff people don't realise that needs to happen to have a official car club, and keep it running with CAMS affiliation and covered legally by insurance and so on. Not doing it can put you in some fairly hot water with the Gov't as the Exec committee etc. Most just don't survive when there is only 50 people in a club, people simply lose interest and being realistic the average time of Nissan Skyline ownership is 2.5 years. It's happened so many times (new car clubs folding) and at the end of the day it's the members that get shafted when it winds up because all their money is gone as people running the "clubs" don't know what they are doing. Not saying that will happen with every new spin-off/derivative... But honestly put the money where you know. SAU-Vic has been around for 10 years, is a proven stayer in what is currently, a very tough climate for car clubs. I know of other clubs who've dropped over 50% of their member base in the last 2 years. Better off everyone working together, supporting a larger base, than splintering off and dividing. Side point I laugh at - People 5-10 years ago had a GTS-t, later they get a GT-R later on down the track it's all "i dont wanna associate with them anymore", forgetting where it all started.
  8. Your comments are against board rules. You've been warned for it 3 times before... Now enjoy a holiday. Next time you'll be banned without warning.
  9. Exactly, don't like it - don't post. Seems it's the same fools who keep posting shit in For Sale threads over, and over. Users warned and thread cleaned.
  10. Totally agree. Change it now while it's apart... The difference in car performance, handling and overall speed is night and day. Best part upgrade... just make sure you do the rear diff as well.
  11. That came up in discussion among a few of us the other day... There is AROCA on 1st June Problem from my end for June 1st, new shop opens the day after so that takes out 2 others (also owners). I think Andrew and Craig have entered (or are)
  12. Totally agree. Stock 440cc GTR injectors will do 300rwkw without even a rail pressure increase. If 555cc injectors can't do 340rwkw which is all GT-SSs will make... then there is something wrong. If you need a bit of headroom, just add an extra 3-4psi to base fuel pressure, that alone will be enough once up on boost to give the fuel supply needed. Definitely a waste of money changing ANY parts from what is currently fitted - they will do the job.
  13. Having recently done finance and shopping around, best I found was just under 9% after going through half a dozen places. It was more about termination, transfer and similar clauses more so than the rate as you can cop cheaper rates but a higher termination and so on... Which can change things to end up in-front (or behind). Certified means they looked over it, as normal, and there is an implied warranty which isn't an outright guarantee it will apply (read that fine print). So a good way to go, but at a premium of course. You can just pick up a 2nd hand one still in warranty also. You wouldn't get an older one anyway thats out of the factory warranty, given the gearbox issue in them, especially if the oil has been changed to something other than what it should be as that seems to be a common factor. Second hand isn't a problem with finance, you can as long as the car is no older than 8 yrs if memory serves correct. (someone here will know the exact ruling)
  14. I never have... but then I guess people know who I am lol. Another point - Any SAU-Vic Member that has not confirmed attendance for Squires Loft Nunawading @ Winton - Please post up numbers so I can sort the catering out for lunch! Cheers fellas
  15. Micolour, club sponsor - they have someone. Good work, reasonable rates. Give them a call, it's always case by case with that sorta thing.
  16. Another one... To go with the 7 that already exist... Yay.
  17. Yeah they have a great deal, none leave and they are always happy. I think the most hours they will work in a fortnight is 80-85hrs and it's their choice, not forced and get paid for EVERY hour! Wanna come work for me? lol. The stories some of my guys have, I just utterly do not comprehend... 2 kitchen staff for a 250 seat bistro at a local hotel... No wonder the food is ALWAYS shithouse, they just don't have time to ensure it's top quality... It's a fair slog wages wise to the business. I don't agree for a second with the restaurant award in terms of floor staff wages for pub holidays etc... I mean it's ~$53/hr on a Pub Holiday so we just close as we actually lose money, can't even break even with 7 floor staff on. The end result is less hours and money for people but somehow the Gov't that made it 2 years ago thinks it's legitimate. See if it was $35/hr, which is acceptable - we would open and people earn more etc. For the kitchen guys though, they work hard so no issue paying them insane pub holiday rates if we did open - it's would be a nice sweetener for them
  18. Maybe you don't know what Medium actually is and just *think* you do? *can of worms opened. That said, it is quite hard to cook a well-done without char, when on a char grill... Unless you want to wait 45mins+ for the meal, and no-one is happy to wait that long. Hell we have a certain persuasion of person that thinks it should only take 15mins and will ask every time, almost without fail "where is our meal", after 15mins. x 11ty. People just don't get meat is a natural product and can vary significantly steak to steak. Based on what my guys get over a year? It's north of 65k... how much depends on how much OT you end up doing in a year. My kitchen and floor staff share tips equally too. AND they only work one double on the busiest 3 days, and get one of those days off (Fri/Sat/Sun) Good working conditions in my hood - hence I've not lost any of my main guys since we opened. Losing staff costs more than giving decent conditions, sadly most people don't understand this. AMEN! Too often we get people complaining AFTER they have eaten their scotch that it was "tasteless with a bit chunks of fat (the kernel)"... Yet our staff tell people 'we recommend the scotch to be cooked roughly medium so the fat breaks down to increase the taste'... But NOOO... Customer is always right, then complain afterwards even though we told them that is how they will get maximum enjoyment out of it le-sigh... everyone is masterchef these days. I LOL'd
  19. You have PowerFC - you can do it in about 10 seconds by just using a correction factor. It's not an exact science but if all you want is more fuel, easy done, wont destroy a motor or anything.
  20. It might not just be a camber issue. Incorrect toe could also be causing the tyre wear. I mean after how many km's are we talking? 5k, 30k? Higher the kms the less of a problem it is as essentially wear over longer kms means it's just a minor adjustment. The best option is take it to a knowledgeable suspension place and start from there IMO. Get the alignment checked and take it from there. Won't hurt to have a look and see what adjustable parts (if any) the car has first, but any decent suspension place will be able to tell you that as part of a alignment inspection anyway
  21. The VicRoads page is actually pretty reasonable, it does spell it out pretty clearly. Where you've got confused is thinking going from Ps to Fulls - you get a reset. VicRoads website does not say that at all, in fact it does not distinguish between P or Full as the Demerit Point system applies regardless. It's just the amount of points you can accrue on Ps/Full that is defined, given the different laws that apply. So a case of looking for something that doesn't exist in a ways In Victoria (as per the OP) - the Demerit points apply as soon as the offence is committed, regardless of guilty or innocent (or you taking it to court) - they take effect immediately. So if you go to court and WIN, only then do they get removed. That can take a year and in the mean time you can lose license based on points even though the matter isn't decided. It's a very stupid and broken system and shows how disjointed it all is, but that's how it works down here.
  22. Factory paint generally can do with a good correction - my HSV is not great from the factory by any means of the word. Never seen a factory skyline any better nor lots of other manufacturers for that matter. Some paint jobs as part of resto's actually are not meant to be 100% perfect either, car's weren't originally afterall. And whilst sometimes you can get imperfection, any decent panel beater will fix it for free so that's a guarantee in itself. But yeah, fix the existing if possible, it's amazing what can be done. I've seen Micolour do some pretty amazing stuff... Actually Waxit in Tulla (wholesaler for products) are also a good place to visit... Good idea for another tech day actually, i missed the last one couple years back, but those that went said it was pretty good.
  23. Or "SAU Community" - which is what the Tapatalk App has it under, might find it using that
  24. Would you believe I filled it out earlier this arvo and that's pretty much what I said? I let them have it, easy 700+ words in the open comments sections just on all of that and why it's so broken. I would encourage everyone to do the same also. Let them have it, CAMS need a lot of hard honest truths.
