  1. Well from my direct swap the 356mm 8-pot D2 kit with the crappy "street" pad, clamps much harder than stock Brembo's with dba5000/DS3000 combo! That could be the fact the Brems are 15years old, but i doubt just a seal kit would improve it "as much". The difference is very noticeable under the foot either way. Although i wasn't talking about shortening braking distance, more being able to do it repeatedly.
  2. Yeah but I am very fussy, and will pay for a perfect job. Also seen bad work from the other place mentioned. Problem is such places pricing is pretty cheap, so i think that is why they can be hit/miss at times.
  3. It is what is Troy! Can't change what the event is, can only work with what it will be
  4. Well are you going to Superlap to win a specific class? Or at least compete in one? That would be a good of a starting point as any. Also realistically 500rwkw, stock Brembo items with rotors isn't going to be pulling that up at all well. More clamping force, more pad area, heat dispersal etc is what you really want. Look at the normal circuit racers going 10/10s with 350-400rwkw generally get 2-4 laps out of sizeable brakes (356mm minimum). You want more power, yes for only for one lap, however absolute lap time is going to require the most you can get. Most being as per above force/area/heat etc.
  5. Oh sure you could. You could find stuff off the internet I'm sure. You know the kinda stuff that is riddled with inaccuracy, false claims and accustations! Well said. Love the idea of it, the idea behind it and the fact it brings the best of the best - to Australia. Funnily enough this was straight from the CEO of Superlap: http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index.php/lets-clear-up-some-controversy/
  6. Please use the For Sale section. Also ensure you read the rules and follow them before doing so.
  7. Funny you mention that Duncan - Yes i have, given I have the on my car I also had the supplied brake lines inspected by 2 independant places who make ADR lines, both in agreeance of them being a risk. I have pics and all that will go into a review at a later date. Topping that off two people I know have had the lines leak/split, your 1 person makes 3! Not something you really want to occur at 200km/h, especially over a $100 part.
  8. Well it says Rego – Not which state. That’s what sucks about having regs that basically say “free for all”. VIC has ridiculous rules where NSW/QLD do not and can get away with a lot more. Was chatting to a mate just then, I can see a lot of protests being lodged with the only major regulation being “owner driver & street rego”… That are going to be out and out race-cars coming along quite easily, as it is clearly within the rules. At the end of the day all that matters is the rules, meet them and that's all you need to do. No more, no less. So - Who meets the rules and runs 9s?
  9. Normal rules will apply as per the Regs. So I'm assuming yes at this point. But I'm also assuming we will get 2 reps that will be in the 9s... So its very much going to apply and these guys will already comply so it won't be a major problem.
  10. Ok as part of the ARC Forum Battle - SAU is looking for represenatives to take out the DRAG section. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/381974-arc-car-forum-battle-sau-represent-2012/ RESTRICTIONS: Car must run DOT approved Radials SUPP REGS (partial): http://forumbattle.com.au/drag/ http://forumbattle.com.au/regulations/ ENTRY LIMIT: 4 cars from SAU. The regs IMO cannot be complete as there is a lot still missing. So at present I'm assuming at this stage it means DOT approved radials, given you could legally use them on the street. COSTS: SAU will cover 50% of the entry fee - so $75 only I'm sure there are some that could run a solid 9.XX pass on DOT approved radials and bring home the trophy for SAU Who out there fits the bill? Do you know someone that is a SAU User, but doesn't browse SAU every day? Post up users, cars whatever - need to know and start organising like... Yesterday!
  11. Entries apparently opened today lol wow Better get the organisation on!
  12. http://forumbattle.com.au/ Regs are up on that website. Although the regs are clearly lacking a lot of detail. One can only assume there will be a secondary update. NFI how long it has been up, I'll read and digest it over the next day or so.
  13. Ye the D2 are 2-bolt bridge in 356mm (as you've seen on mine). The 330mm is single, as per previous link... JJR just use the same generic picture i think given D2 & K-Sport come out of the same factory. Price is $300 more. The brake lines however are junk. So add another $100 for ADR approved lines and its $2400
  14. And im not going to reply because all the information is in this thread.
  15. Depends on the tyre chosen. AD08s in 285 for example fill perfectly square edge on a 10.5 Where other 285s don't quite look "as wide" once on the actual rim. Got 265 RS-Rs on a 10.5 at the moment, definately need at least 285 in the RS-R. I reckon a 265 AD08 however wouldn't look as bad, so ye, depends laregly on the actual tyre.
  16. I had 15% on my 31 years ago @ night you literally cannot see anything, even headlights are hard to pickup. Was actually a bit dangerous to be honest. Especially now with RWC requires them to check the tint... Suggestion would be to go 35% on the doors and then 25% on the side/rear windows
  17. Its a current list. Just because the "post" was made in 2005 means nothing. If we posted ecah time there was an update the thread would be 30 pages long and impossible to read - hence it gets updated in the original post.
  18. So you did work out it was causing your high temps? Just wondering is all.
  19. Nope I was not impressed with the work performed. I've gotta get my wheel redone as a result
  20. Yeah Xenons should be in WA by now lol. I have another set, partially cloudy on the lens... Wont be ready to sell those for a few weeks, maybe early next year yet. Gotta make a bracket as one of the Ballasts is missing one.
  21. Well even at stock speeds the 2600k is a very very good choice.
  22. 11hrs sleep Oh yeah, needed that one! Stupid night shifts...
