  1. SAUs prodigal son scammer returns once again. Probably to try pay for the court costs after being caught last time... Clearly someone who doesn't learn their lesson. If anyone has any other bank details, email etc. PM them so I can add even more details to the Bad Trader listing. Ole Jimmy has a nice histroy: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/378488-bad-trader-warning-advice/ http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/65046-known-bad-traders-read-before-you-buy-or-sell/ Known Username(s): CRMIN-4, silrb26, TRBGMH, gabrageorge, zilr33, uih474, MARTIN_ZAMMIT Email: [email protected] Email: [email protected] Email: [email protected] Email: [email protected] Email: [email protected] Location: Victoria - Braybrook, Sunshine Names Used: Jimmy Gabra, George Gabra, James, Jimmy Phone Number 1: 0422 500 620 Phone Number 2: 0403 751 647 Phone Number 3: 0466 591 775 Ebay Account: http://myworld.ebay.com.au/gabrageorge Bank Details 1: Commonwealth, Account No: 10359871 BSB: 062-948
  2. A lot of them get greedy though. I know a few already in that boat. Some that'll have to now hang onto the stocks for a good 6 months before its viable to sell. Simply because they wanted that "extra couple %" I say fk it, if you've made over 10% - sell. If it's at 30% then good on ya. People get regret that they sold before the "peak" in many instances but you cant have that attitude or you'll go mad
  3. Yeah i gathered, but no-one has said a word in months, no fine nothing!
  4. Would be great to have you both on board with your knowledge
  5. I'd say it's been a great time. While prices are up/down a heap on any given day it's been good to see how things do/dont affect others and what not. How Gold is where people run to, how S&P rating yesterday had no effect etc. Just soaking it all up. Help the advice thats coming in though, some high level stuff from some of those high up in the business of it all, lot I have NO clue about - but one gets there slowly.
  6. Indeed it is educated gambling, mainly with information - of which a lot you cannot control. With things like calls/puts etc you can cover yourself in some instances. Friend of mine has been involved in this over the past few years havily and now it is his day job. I've learnt so much the past 6 months my brain hurts more than normal... As are a few mates who are also learning fast. But then I'm buying/selling is very conservative amounts compared to the 7 figures my mate is working with. Especially while i learn & understand it all. Nothing I cannot afford to lose, and at least I'm doing something constructive (arguably if money is lost, but lessons are learnt none the less). With all the financial turmoil it's been a good eye opener to watch a lot of it as well, some great buys lately.
  7. I don't doubt that for a second given what I've been involved with & seen over the past 6 months. Only issue as you said, is the initial funding to make it. As they say, money makes money hehe. But hell work on various things now, in 5-10 years of getting a safe and reasonably 30-50% on anything will work. Provided nothing goes south which like anything is always possible.
  8. LOL how grossly inappropriate is it? I don't even know what it's about... I park there once a week even when it requires money. Nothing has been said so far!
  9. Very timely this came out actually given my recent motivation to build a new PC Mid Range Buyers Guide Oage 4 I disagree with the statement of the 2700k and 2600k RE: overclocking. It would appear the 2700k does indeed clock a bit better so each to their own on. I'll still a 2700k and push it to see where it'll end up. I'll probably get a different SSD & PSU as well to their suggestions but they are good if someone is looking to build with a max budget. I think I'll bite the bullet and get a GTX580 as well
  10. You cannot be serious... 15% over 5 years? One of mine made 30% today alone actually. I mean it's only on $1000 but hell, $300 for doing nothing other than making a good decision I'll take any day of the week! Next year should make a good 35% on a much larger sum. That'll be nice
  11. Forget the imitations! I might have to try a bit harder next year and work my way up to a placing! Just gotta learn not to hit cones and somehow rid my love of 4WD circle work... Killed a set of AD08s in under 12 months Well done to everyone else. Some pretty close standings indeed!
  12. Ok I'll have some spare time the next week so I will be creating a new section of the forum. Anyone that has expressed interest thus far will be given access to this section (it will be private). Then we can start discussions with the aim to launch sometime in Q1 2012 Oh, and you guys will all get a cute like "Review Team" bar under your names
  13. Just a reminder: When it says "all members" It means all SAU-Vic Members. Any votes made by non-members do not count.
  14. Closed. If businesses wish to trade, sell, promote here on SAU - You are required to become a paying trader just like everyone else. Info can be found here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/294953-are-you-a-business-want-to-advertise-on-sau-click-here/ To everyone else that will no doubt read this... Read on. Starting in 2012 the Fabrication section will be clamped down on. You guys know who you are that are getting some good business from posting a "what I've been up to" thread. This is your prior chance do the right thing and become traders as an act of good faith, or run the risk of not being able to post here at all. Fair is fair and SAU doesn't run for free.
  15. You do realise Autosalon ceases to exist now? I'm not surprised either, their business decisions were atrocious. Giving Car Clubs the rough end of the stick year after year when we all brought 20+ cars... Which MADE it a 400 car event... Was silly cause they pissed us all off and overnight lost 60 entrants. plus cars with 16pot caliper (2x8 sets), that couldn't actually drive would win brake awards over guys with a set of mint Alcons, on a driveable car, which is just dumb.
  16. I concur. The ole "full of sh*t" comes to mind
  17. Well I wasn’t talking about you – you aren’t a member. It’s the other usual suspects who complain after every event and never do anything about it. I’m not viewing anything you’ve said as a complaint. Things can be improved, but that needs people to actually pitch in and do it. Currently, there are none This sums it up perfectly. We used to have people put their cars in for Autosalon for 3 days, all 40 of them. This was when the club had 150 odd members as well. Not the 300 we have not The difference is it is 2011… And that means everyone 1. Would prefer to complain that something doesn’t work without offering a reasonable solution. 2. Wants the world to bend to their specific requirements and needs Remember events need to cater for not just members… There is… Our Insurance, Councils (and their insurance), Private companies like local business… Some events simply don’t happen easily and there is a massive level of piss-farting around that goes on, that until you’ve done it, you’d never know it existed. Such things always have a limited life span. Same as Vic Imports and other sub-divisions. If everyone stayed within the major clubs and stopped trying to splinter off. The Melb car scene would be MUCH stronger than it currently is. Hence SAU is looking to a bit of rebranding in the next 12 months to sorta merge that up a bit MCCR owner now owns StreetFX, and is involved with Firesport if I am not mistaken
  18. If they look at the tyre placard then you won't pass with high profile tyres etc. Sometimes they might, sometimes they might not.
  19. Good to see a heap of emails coming in... Albeit at the 11th hour, but plenty is better than the few we had last week
  20. I have at least once before.
  21. Well the crew at Motive DVD have been on the hard slog going through all the footage and turning into a brilliant production. Here is a little teaser... I hear it might be ready just in time for Xmas Watch in HD!
  22. Probably because you didn't have your keyboard, just like so many before you.
  23. Given i used to organise a lot of them before SAU-Vic came about I can confidently say you are full of shit. There were never 50-100 car cruises unless combined with other clubs etc.
  24. Do not want.
