  1. You kids need to be less complaining. Everyone loves to whine after an event, but I see NO members EVER volunteering your time, thoughts or ideas. So as a result, you get what you are given. If you don't like it - put down your keyboard and run for Committee to take the club into what you believe the direction should be.

You mentioned stock RB26 plenum, but you mention an after market one? What set-up is currently driving the splitfire coils? I also doubt 18psi was not making any more power, I mean its a 1000hp turbo. A base point would be 25psi and well into the 400rwkw region. If any more than 18psi was not showing anything, clear as day there is a problem. Could be something as simple as cam gears not set correctly initially, or something much bigger. Side point - cam gears incorrect could also explain the very low comp test combined with your head mods. Wouldn't get too worried at this stage, frustrated fair enough, but its just a matter of working through things bit by bit.

  8. Interested to know how the motor bill came to $50,000 if its using essentially a stock RB30 bottom end (save for a set of pistons)... I mean even with the head & bolt ons included, you'd be lucky to pip 25k. But of course, without decent information - no one is going to be able to help you. Need to list anything and everything including... - What has been tried so far - Whats been tested - What conclusions were reached - Why only 18psi - Tested boost drop across the cooler core - Tested exhaust manifold pressure. - What else was done to the head, surely that cannot be it - What are the AFRs doing - What is the injector duty And thats just the start...

  13. Mmm Yes true. GTX2860R or GTX2863R Will be interesting indeed. I for one – pumped about some new offerings about the place.
  14. Only make 400rwkw with some serious work with strokers & 24psi+, E85 or 100RON etc. Otherwise most punters are closer to ~365-385 with 20psi on 2.6l (PULP). 2530s would do 400rwkw on PULP. Look at it like this: 59.4mm (-9) 60mm (-5) 63mm (GTX) 71mm (-10) To note the -9 has a different rear wheel & trim, hence it doesnt make -5 power and they nose over. There are two potential problems given they don't come with specific housings: 1. Surge 2. Lag The GTX on paper looks closer to the "-5" than "-10". As the GTX are not meant to surge "as easy", it could be ok. As with all things it will be a time will tell scenario. Difference with 2530s is usually 20-40rwkw so for that it would be worth it if someone was wanting a little more than -5s - but as a non HKS rape price. I'm on Gav's wagon for this one, will be interesting to see what they can/can't do.
  15. Ye but you are forgetting the 2530s were a good choice, and are larger than the -5s It was going bigger again to 2540/-10 where the problems arose. So if these GTX are basically a "purchasable" HKS2530, then that is a good thing. Second hand 2530s sell for more than what a set of NEW -5s are worth, simply because you cannot get them. It'll depend on just "how big" the GTX is... Will it be 2530 or GT-RS/-10... That is the question. Hoping the former.
  16. Been waiting for the GTX to filter to the 28 frame Although I would more have said GTX2863 would be HKS2530 power levels as opposed to GT-RS/-10? Given the -5s always make a bit less than the HKS2530 simply because of the smaller comp wheel etc. If they can do that, and keep the slightly better response of the -5, be a good choice for sure! Only problem being the GTX really hasn't lived up to the claims in many instances, will have to see some results/back to backs. I think there will be a "bolt on" version eventually, cannot see why there wouldn't be given the GTX have come up in offerings the GTs have for the most part.

  18. If it was a bush bearing hi-flow, it couldn't have been expensive. You can rebuild the cores for $400-$500! Wouldn't have paid anymore than $1000-$1100 for a bushie hi-flow. They ain't worth anything more regardless of what retailers try and charge

  20. Yeah definitely a cheap hi-flow. More boost is required, much more.

  24. No bright light within 30-40mins of bed time, made a huge difference. IE Phone/PC etc. Watching TV is ok. Was doing reading up on it earlier in the year as i was mass struggling to sleep - given I'm on PCs often before I head to bed, stopped doing it and watched 30mins of TV or something, BAM - sleep much better.
  25. Dumps are not a problem. Made 340rwkw through stock R33 ones, no issues.
